Degradant concentration measurement device and acidic gas removal device
A degradant concentration measurement device 14 according to the invention has an electric conductivity measurement instrument 71A measuring the electric conductivity of a lean solution 16 that is an acidic gas-absorbing solution and detection means 72 obtaining the concentration of a degradant contained in a lean solution 16 from the measured electric conductivity of the lean solution 16 based on the relationship between the previously-obtained electric conductivity of the lean solution 16 and the concentration of the degradant contained in the lean solution 16.
RECOVERY OF TOBACCO CONSTITUENTS FROM PROCESSING
A method includes volatilizing one or more compounds from tobacco, or reaction products thereof, into a gas stream and recovering at least one of the one or more volatilized compounds or reaction products from the gas stream. The method may be carried out in connection with a dry ice expanded tobacco (“DIET”) process where volatile tobacco compounds are recovered rather than incinerated as is typically done with current DIET processes.
Air Purification Device
An integrated autonomous air purification device for taking in polluted air, carrying it through the inside of the purification device where it passes through a set of filtering elements (1) that trap the dust particles contained in the air; ultraviolet-light lamps (2) that transform NO.sub.X and CO gases in the air into harmless compounds; an activated carbon filter (4) that traps and eliminates the volatile organic compounds and inorganic acidic gases; second filtering elements (5) that carry out a second filtering; and an extraction hood (6) configured to direct the air coming out of the second filtering elements (5) to at least one nozzle (7) that expels the air to the outside of the purification device.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SANITIZING AIR CONDITIONED BY A CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM
A method for purifying air within a space is provided. The method includes a controller determining whether an ON signal is received. Upon determining that the ON signal is received, the controller instructs an air sanitizer of an air sanitization system to turn ON to purify an airflow passing through the air sanitization system, and instructs an air movement fan/blower to operate in order to direct the airflow into the space. Upon determining that the ON signal is not received, the controller instructs the air movement fan/blower and the air sanitizer to be OFF.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ONE OR MORE PROCESS PARAMETERS ASSOCIATED WITH A COMBUSTION PROCESS
The present invention relates generally to the generation of steam via the use of a combustion process to produce heat and, in one embodiment, to a device, system and/or method that enables one to control one or more process parameters of a combustion process so as to yield at least one desirable change in at least one downstream parameter. In one embodiment, the present invention is directed to a system and/or method for controlling at least one process parameter of a combustion process so as to yield at least one desirable change in at least one downstream process parameter associated with one or more of a wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) unit, a particulate collection device and/or control of additives thereto and/or a nitrogen oxide control device and/or control of additives thereto and/or additives to the system.
DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM WITH PRESSURE CONTROL
A diesel exhaust fluid delivery system and a dual-variable control strategy for adjusting the delivery pressure and the mass flow rate of the fluid passing through the system. The method for operating the system using two operating modes: low flow rate and high flow rate. While operating in the low flow rate operating mode, the speed of a DEF pump remains constant and DEF delivery to the exhaust system is adjusted by controlling a backflow valve. While operating in the high flow rate operating mode, the backflow valve is closed and the speed of the pump is adjusted to regulate DEF delivery to the exhaust system.
Method for preventing inactivation of flue gas desulfurization apparatus
To provide a method for predicting a deactivation phenomenon in a flue-gas desulfurization unit to prevent the occurrence of the deactivation phenomenon before it happens. There is provided a method for preventing the occurrence of a deactivation phenomenon in a flue-gas desulfurization unit that treats flue gas of a coal-fired boiler, the method includes calculating a deactivation potential as an index of the deactivation phenomenon based on alkaline components such as Na, Ca, Mg, and K contained in ash in the flue gas, and performing an operation management, such as adjustment of set value of a pH control system, on the flue-gas desulfurization unit depending on change of the deactivation potential.
Gas laser apparatus
A gas laser apparatus may include: a laser chamber connected through a first control valve to a first laser gas supply source that supplies a first laser gas containing a halogen gas and connected through a second control valve to a second laser gas supply source that supplies a second laser gas having a lower halogen gas concentration than the first laser gas; a purification column that removes at least a part of the halogen gas and a halogen compound from at least a part of a gas exhausted from the laser chamber; a booster pump, connected through a third control valve to the laser chamber, which raises a pressure of a gas having passed through the purification column to a gas pressure that is higher than an operating gas pressure of the laser chamber; and a controller that calculates, on a basis of a first amount of a gas supplied from the booster pump through the third control valve to the laser chamber, a second amount of the first laser gas that is to be supplied to the laser chamber and controls the first control valve on a basis of a result of the calculation of the second amount.
