Evaporative chilling systems and methods using a selective transfer membrane
Compact membrane evaporative chillers, methods for cooling a process fluid (e.g., air) using a compact membrane evaporative chiller, and air conditioning systems and methods that include a compact membrane evaporative chiller are disclosed herein. Compact membrane evaporative chillers as disclosed herein can advantageously reduce or eliminate power consumption needed to circulate a working fluid.
Integrated system of biomass to renewable natural gas to methanol, and other value added products
An integrated system for the conversion of biomass to renewable natural gas and then to methanol and other value-added products is provided. The integrated system includes a compressor that receives biomass gases from a biomass source and a series of purification stations that produce purified gas from the biomass gases. Characteristically, the purified gas has an enhanced amount of methane. A gas-to-liquids plant converts the purified gas to a product blend that includes methanol.

Process and apparatus for the recovery of methanol
There is proposed an efficient recovery of methanol from waste gases loaded with methanol in an integrated flow chart for the production and processing of methanol. The methanol fractions separated from the waste gases are recovered within the already existing, distillative processing of the crude methanol to pure methanol, so that no separate apparatuses are required for the recovery of the methanol from the loaded scrubber waste waters. The valuable substance methanol is recovered and the impact on the environment is reduced. By means of particular aspects of the invention the need for water as washing agent can be reduced further.

LOW TEMPERATURE PLASMA REACTION DEVICE AND HYDROGEN SULFIDE DECOMPOSITION METHOD
Described are a low temperature plasma reaction device and a hydrogen sulfide decomposition method. The reaction device includes: a first cavity; a second cavity, the second cavity being embedded inside or outside the first cavity; an inner electrode, the inner electrode being arranged in the first cavity; an outer electrode; and a barrier dielectric arranged between the outer electrode and the inner electrode. The hydrogen sulfide decomposition method includes: implementing dielectric barrier discharge at the outer electrode and the inner electrode of the low temperature plasma reaction device, introducing a raw material gas containing hydrogen sulfide into the first cavity to implement a hydrogen sulfide decomposition method, and continuously introducing a thermally conductive medium into the second cavity in order to control the temperature of the first cavity of the low temperature plasma reaction device.
Capture and release of acid gasses using tunable organic solvents with aminopyridine
A class of water lean, organic solvents that can bind with various acid gasses to form acid gas bound molecules having a high degree of intramolecular hydrogen bonding which enables their use as regenerable solvents for acid gas capture. Unlike the other devices described in the prior art, the present invention takes advantage of shortened distances between the portions of the molecule that form hydrogen bonds within the structures when loaded with an acid gas so as to create a molecule with a higher internal bonding affinity and a reduced proclivity for agglomeration with other molecules.

Carbon dioxide capturing system and exhaust gas processing method
In one embodiment, a carbon dioxide capturing system includes an absorber configured to include a first contact portion that brings a combustion exhaust gas containing carbon dioxide into contact with an absorbing liquid containing an amine compound, cause the absorbing liquid to absorb at least a portion of the carbon dioxide in the combustion exhaust gas at the first contact portion, and release the combustion exhaust gas. The system further includes a washing apparatus configured to include a second contact portion that brings the combustion exhaust gas released from the first contact portion of the absorber into contact with a washing liquid, and configured such that the combustion exhaust gas and the washing liquid are individually fed to an upstream side of the second contact portion.
