The present invention relates to a filtration means (10) for the filtration of liquid media having a housing (12) and at least one filter element (16) arranged in said housing (12), wherein at least one of said filter element (16) at at least one axial end has a laterally outwardly extending flange (24), which is connected to said housing (12) forming a seal. Said flange (24) has a conical surface (25) projecting outwardly which interacts with a complementary conical surface (27) of a gasket (26) which is arranged between said flange (24) and said housing (12).
METHOD FOR PRODUCING DIALYZER COMPRISING A BUNDLE OF HOLLOW FIBERS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HOLLOW FIBER
A method for producing a hollow fiber pre-product for a dialysis membrane is disclosed. The dialysis membrane includes a distribution of the pore sizes which follows an exponential function such as an e-function. The inverse value of the exponential coefficient (K) is at least 30 nm.sup.2. The dialysis membrane includes at least 50 pores per μm.sup.2 and the share of a free flow area at a surface of the dialysis membrane amounts to at least 2.5%.
Hollow fiber membrane bundle
The present disclosure relates to bundles of hollow fiber membranes and a process for their production. The bundles are used for the manufacture of filtration and/or diffusion devices, e.g., capillary dialyzers.
Hollow fiber membrane module and filtering method
A hollow fiber membrane module comprising a bundle of hollow fiber membranes, a housing, an adhesive fixation layer, an inlet and outlet, at least one bias regulating member, and at least one straightening cylinder, in which the bias regulating member is contained in the adhesive fixation layer, the adhesive fixation layer comprises an outer end surface and an inner end surface inside the straightening cylinder, at least some of spaces between the hollow fiber membranes are at least three times as large as an outer diameter of the hollow fiber membrane on the outer end surface of the adhesive fixation layer, and the spaces between the hollow fiber membranes and a space from the hollow fiber membranes to the straightening cylinder are all less than three times as large as the outer diameter of the hollow fiber membrane on the inner end surface of the adhesive fixation layer.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HUMIDIFIER BLOCK FOR A HUMIDIFIER
A humidifier block and a method for producing a humidifier block are disclosed. The humidifier block may include a plurality of membranes each having a cavity for passing a through-flow and a jacket surrounding the cavity in a circumferential direction. The jacket may be moisture-permeable. At least one strip-shaped carrier may be fitted with the plurality of membranes, and the plurality of membranes may arranged in a longitudinal direction parallel to one another and adjacent to one another on the at least one carrier. The at least one carrier fitted with the plurality of membranes may be shaped into the humidifier block such that the plurality of membranes are arranged adjacent to one another in a transverse direction running transversely to the longitudinal direction and adjacent in a height direction running transversely to the longitudinal direction and transversely to the transverse direction.
Membrane for blood purification
The present disclosure relates to semipermeable membranes which are suitable for blood purification, e.g. by hemodialysis, which have an increased ability to remove larger molecules while at the same time effectively retaining albumin. The membranes are characterized by a molecular retention onset (MWRO) of between 9.0 kD and 14.5 kD and a molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) of between 55 kD and 130 kD as determined by dextran sieving curves and can be prepared by industrially feasible processes excluding a treatment with salt before drying. The invention therefore also relates to a process for the production of the membranes and to their use in medical applications.
Hemodialyzer for blood purification
The present disclosure relates to a dialyzer comprising a bundle of semipermeable hollow fiber membranes which is suitable for blood purification, wherein the dialyzer has an increased ability to remove larger molecules while at the same time it is able to effectively remove small uremic toxins and efficiently retain albumin and larger proteins. The invention also relates to using said dialyzer in hemodialysis.
Diffusion and/or filtration device
The present disclosure relates to diffusion and/or filtration devices comprising hollow fiber membranes, e.g., ultrafilters for water purification, plasma filters, or capillary dialyzers for blood purification; housings and end caps for the devices; and methods for the production of the devices.
A COMPRESSION SEAL
A potting system comprising a potting unit having an integrated compressible seal formed from the same material that the potting unit is composed of.
Composite Hollow Fiber Membrane Module and Manufacturing Method Therefor
The present invention offers a forward osmosis composite hollow fiber membrane module having hollow fiber bundles comprising a plurality of hollow fibers, the hollow fibers having a separation layer composed of a macromolecular polymer thin film provided on the inner surface of a microporous hollow fiber supporting membrane, wherein the membrane area of the hollow fiber bundle is at least 1 m.sup.2, and a variation coefficient for the average thickness of the separation layer in the radial direction and the lengthwise direction of the hollow fiber bundles, as calculated by a method of measuring the mass of the separation layer portion in a scanning electron microscope image of a cross section of the separation layer in the thickness direction, is 0% to 60%.
