METHOD FOR BIOLOGICAL OR BIOMIMETIC CHANNEL-BASED MEMBRANE FABRICATIONS USING LAYER-BY-LAYER STRUCTURE
The present disclosure describes membrane compositions and methods for preparing membrane compositions. In particular, the methods employ a layer-by-layer approach to membrane preparation. The membrane compositions provide significantly enhanced membrane performance over existing commercial membranes, particularly in terms of permeability and selectivity.
Efficient antifouling and hydrophilic polyethersulfone ultrafiltration membrane and preparation method thereof
A preparation method of an antifouling and hydrophilic polyethersulfone ultrafiltration membrane includes through the .sup.60Co-γ radiation grafting chemical modification method, evenly distributing an ionic liquid on a surface of a polyethersulfone material, wherein the ionic liquid containing unsaturated bonds is connected with the polyethersulfone material through chemical bonds, and then obtaining an asymmetric porous membrane by the immersion-precipitation phase transformation method, and finally performing Soxhlet extraction on the porous membrane, so as to migrate the grafted ionic liquid from an interior of the porous membrane to a surface of the porous membrane to be enriched, so that the adsorption and antibacterial properties of the porous membrane are improved. A mass ratio of the ionic liquid to the polyethersulfone material is in a range of (2-11):100. The ultrafiltration membrane is an asymmetric porous membrane, and has excellent antifouling properties, good pure water flux and a good BSA retention rate.

The separation membrane module is provided in which fouling of a membrane is suppressed and the amount of eluted substance is small.
Durable asymmetric composite membranes and modified substrates used in their preparation
Durable asymmetric composite membranes consisting essentially of a film of cross-linked sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) adhered to a sheet of hydrophilicitized microporous poly(ethylene) are disclosed. The membranes have application in the recovery of water from feed streams where the ability to clean in situ is desirable, for example in dairy processing. Methods of preparing cross-linked sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) suitable for use as the rejection layer and hydrophilicitized sheets of microporous poly(ethylene) suitable for use as the support layer of such membranes are also disclosed.
Thin metal/ceramic hybrid membrane sheet and filter
A thin micro-porous membrane sheet and filtering device using it is presented. The membrane sheet includes a thin porous metal sheet of thickness between 20 and 200 μm with a porous ceramic coating of thickness less than 25 μm on at least one of its surfaces. The porous metal sheet has mean pore sizes at micro and sub-micrometer level and has a surface substantially free of pores greater than 10 micrometers. The ceramic coating layer may be made of particles with a mean particle size in a range of 10 to 300 nm and contains certain sintering promoters. The ceramic coating is sintered with the metal sheet in non-oxidizing environment at lower temperatures than typical ceramic membranes. The thin membrane sheet is used to filter fine particulates from micrometers to nanometers from a liquid or gas stream. The thin membrane sheet may be assembled into a filter device having high surface area packing density and straight mini-flow channels.

The disclosure is directed to removal of metal contaminants from fluids, as well as ligand-modified filter materials useful for carrying out such methods. The filters and methods of this disclosure are particularly effective for removal of metals from liquid compositions comprising amines. Such liquid compositions with significantly reduced amounts of metals can be used in a microelectronic manufacturing process, such as liquids for removing photoresist or liquids used in etching. The ligand-modified filters, such as ligand-modified porous membranes, can be configured for use in a microelectronic manufacturing system, which can be utilized in the system as a point of use metal-removal feature for liquids entering the system.
