A filter base for receiving a complementary mating filter housing assembly. The filter base includes a base platform having fluid ingress and egress stanchions, and a wire harness assembly including a connector housing integral with or connected to the base platform for establishing an electrical connection between the filter base and the filter housing assembly. The wire harness assembly includes conductors extending between first and second connectors, with one or more resilient contacts provided on the second connector. The connector housing has an upper surface and an oppositely facing lower surface and is dimensioned to receive a first end portion of the one or more contacts. The contacts are flexible from a first position to a second position when a mating portion of the one or more contacts engages a mating connection surface of the filter housing assembly. The mating connection surface may be a circuit pad of a printed circuit board, wherein the contact mating portions are configured to be positioned in mechanical and electrical engagement with the circuit pads when the filter housing assembly is received within the filter base.
Filter for removing sediment from water
A system for removing sediment from water is disclosed. The exemplary embodiments described herein disclose a system with a chamber having a deck positioned inside to divide it into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. The deck may have a plurality of holes to hold filtration elements and also may have a ridge or a skirt or both. The filtration elements may be filter cartridges with multiple elongated filter elements that extend down into the lower chamber.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FILTERING CRYOGENIC FLUID
An improved filter apparatus for a cryogenic fluid includes a filter and a support. The filter includes a mesh having an internal space and an open end. The support is associated with the mesh for maintaining a volume of the internal space above a predetermined value. In operation cryogenic fluid enters the internal space through the mesh and exits the open end thereof.
Fluid filter with a valve unit
A fluid filter with a housing, a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a central standpipe which forms the fluid outlet, a filter insert which is plugged onto the standpipe, and a valve unit which is arranged on the outer circumference of the standpipe. The valve unit has a valve seat, a valve body which can be moved in the axial direction of the standpipe, a valve spring which is guided on the standpipe and biases the valve body in the valve closing direction, and a valve spring support which is attached to the standpipe. The valve body is made of an elastomer body, and an intermediate valve ring which is guided on the standpipe in an axially movable manner, is arranged between the valve spring and the valve body.
Sand boil filter
In certain embodiments, a sand-boil filter includes a hollow, conical, water-porous structure made of a mesh material having spaced mesh holes. The filter is inserted narrow-end down into a sand boil to allow water to flow from the ground through the mesh material and out the top of the sand boil, while blocking solid matter larger than the mesh holes from passing through the mesh material. In some implementations, the filter is filled with gravel that holds the filter in place while allowing water to flow out of the sand boil. Such filters prevent sand boils from growing while relieving the underground hydrostatic pressure that created the sand boil in the first place and inhibiting subterranean erosion that can cause failure of a nearby levee. The conical shape provides relatively large surface area that inhibits clogging and allows each filter to be used for a range of different sand-boil sizes.
FILTRATION DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED FILTER ELEMENT
A filter assembly is disclosed comprising a filter cartridge, a filter housing end part, and a filter housing main part, said filter housing main part being adapted for receiving said filter cartridge and for being connected to the housing end part by screwing, wherein said filter housing main part comprises a first longitudinal axis and a main opening, said main opening being defined by a first end portion, said first end portion comprising an upper, interrupted rim and a first threaded portion arranged below said upper rim; said first end portion comprising a recess arrangement comprising one or more axially extending recesses, said one or more axially extending recesses at least partially interrupting said first threaded portion; said filter cartridge comprises a second longitudinal axis and a first end cap, said first end cap comprising a central portion and a radial extension arrangement comprising one or more radial extensions extending radially away from said central portion; and wherein said radial extension arrangement is adapted for being receivable or received by said recess arrangement; and associated cartridges.
PERIODIC STRUCTURED COMPOSITE AND ARTICLES THEREFROM
In one aspect, a material is disclosed, including: a periodic structure including a plurality of unit cells, the plurality of unit cells having a respective plurality of shared nodes, wherein each of the plurality of unit cells has a plurality of members forming an open cell volume; and a matrix material associated with the periodic structure. In another aspect, a method of forming a material is disclosed, including: forming a periodic structure including a plurality of unit cells, the plurality of unit cells having a respective plurality of shared nodes, wherein each of the plurality of unit cells has a plurality of members forming an open cell volume; and associating a matrix material with the periodic structure. Matrix material selection, composition, manufacturing, interfacial bonding modification, and post-treatments of the periodic structure-matrix material composites are disclosed.
Filter assembly for plate heat exchangers and method of cleaning a working medium in a plate heat exchanger
A filter assembly for a plate heat exchanger comprising inlet and outlet ports for passage of a working medium and a cooling or heating fluid, respectively, wherein the filter assembly is dimensioned to fit into the inlet or outlet ports, wherein the filter assembly comprises a proximal flange and a distal flange and at least one filter tube attached at respective ends to the proximal flange and the distal flange, respectively, wherein the at least one filter tube is adapted to receive an elongated filter element and further comprises a plurality of inlet holes arranged on a circumferential surface thereof, and wherein the distal flange comprises at least one through-going outlet aperture in fluid communication with the interior of the at least one filter tube.
Precision fuel additive system
A precision additive dosing device comprising a liquid additive tank, dosing pump, filter, electric actuator, and pump control unit. Upon completion of fueling, the control unit is input with the corresponding volume of fuel just delivered. The pump starts until a time is reached that achieves the correct blend of additive for the fuel. The dosing pump delivers a constant volume of additive with time being the only variable to achieve the correct ratio of additive to fuel. Operation of the pump may be delayed or the time of pump operation may be increased during low ambient temperatures by the pump control circuit. Additionally, a heater may be used to heat the additive in similarly low temperatures.
