ANTIMICROBIAL FILTER MEDIA
A product and method of manufacturing and producing antimicrobial fibers using an antimicrobial additive material. The method comprising using various antimicrobial metals incorporated and embedded into an inorganic material as metal ions within the additive material that can be formulated into a masterbatch precursor material and processed to manufacture fine or synthetic fibers using standard manufacturing processes for use in applications from face masks and respirators to air filters for HVAC and higher efficiency HEPA applications.
HIGH PARTICLE CAPTURE MOISTURE ABSORBING FABRIC
A gas filtering medium is composed of hydrophobic polyester fiber as from 20-80% by total weight of textile fibers and 80-20% by total weight of hydrophilic textile fibers and a microfibrillated cellulose fiber in a weight/weight ratio of 1.5-8.5/100 parts by weight of total textile fiber.
BARRIER VENT ASSEMBLY
The technology disclosed herein relates to a vent assembly having a vent housing that defines a first airflow pathway, a second airflow pathway, and a third airflow pathway. The first airflow pathway is configured for fluid communication with an interior of an enclosure. The second airflow pathway is configured for fluid communication with the external environment, and the third airflow pathway extends between the first airflow pathway and the second airflow pathway. A membrane is coupled to the vent housing such that the second airflow pathway and the third airflow pathway are in communication through the membrane. Coalescing filter media is disposed within the vent housing such that the third airflow pathway and the first airflow pathway are in communication through the coalescing filter media. The vent assembly defines a spacing region between the coalescing media and the membrane.
Spun-bonded fabric material, object comprising a spun-bonded fabric material, filter medium, filter element, and use thereof
A filter medium (10) for filtering a fluid, in particular for use in an interior air filter (32), comprises a spun-bonded nonwoven formed at least in part of multi-component segmented pie fibers (1) having at least a first plastic component (2) and a second plastic component (3). The multi-component fibers (1) are largely non-split and in order to manufacture same, segmented pie filaments are spun in a spun-bonding process (S4) to form a spun-bonded nonwoven (10). The segmented pie filaments then form the multi-component fibers (4), the first plastic component (2) and/or the second plastic component (3) being made in particular of a polypropylene.
BELT EDGE
The present invention relates to a belt comprising a warp yarn and a weft yarn, wherein the belt comprises a fused region along each longitudinal edge of the belt, said fused region being formed from the warp yarn, the weft yarn and a yarn provided for fusing the warp yarn and the weft yarn together.
WOVEN GEOTEXTILE FILTRATION FABRICS INCLUDING CORE-SHEATH SPUN YARNS
Disclosed are exemplary embodiments of woven filtration fabrics that include core-sheath spun yarns in either or both of the warp and weft directions.
MEDICAL AIRWAY DEVICE
A medical airway device includes a housing having at least one breathing circuit port and including an airway filter arranged to filter air flowing through the at least one breathing circuit port. The airway filter includes a layered filter including at least a first separate filter layer and a second separate filter layer being stacked on top of each other so that neighbouring separate filter layers abut each other. The layered filter has a first surface being laminated with a first scrim layer and a second surface being laminated with a second scrim layer. Each separate filter layer is a non-woven fiber layer.
FACE MASK
A face mask containing a network of conductive activated carbon meso-fibers crosslinked with a crosslinking agent bonded to a insulative polymeric micro-fiber based purification element. The purification element is captured between two ridged porous elements and contacted to the face by a biocompatible flexible polymeric seal. Optionally the front cover attaches to a main frame of the mask through a system of sliding locks that are coupled with bayonet latch mechanisms. The face mask attaches to the head of a wearer through a harness that couples with the sliding locks or alternatively with a biocompatible adhesive.
NONWOVEN WEB WITH BIMODAL FIBER DISTRIBUTION
A nonwoven web comprising a layer of polymeric fibers, wherein, based on the total number of polymeric fibers, at least 10% the polymeric fibers in said layer are coarse fibers having a fiber diameter of 4 μm or more, and at least 10% of the polymeric fibers in said layer are fine fibers having a fiber diameter of 2 μm or less. Also described herein is a method for making the nonwoven web, comprising melt-blowing a polymer mixture comprising two immiscible or partially miscible polymers.
FILTER MEDIA INCLUDING FLAME RETARDANT FIBERS
Filter media including a filtration layer comprising fibers (e.g., synthetic fibers) comprising a flame retardant and related components, systems, and methods associated herewith are provided. In some embodiments, a filtration layer may include a nonwoven web (e.g., wet-laid nonwoven web) comprising fibers including a certain flame retardant that has a relatively low concentration of or is substantially free of certain undesirable and/or toxic components (e.g., halogens). In certain embodiments, the nonwoven web may also comprise a blend of fibers. For instance, in some embodiments, the nonwoven web may also comprise a blend of coarse and fine diameter synthetic fibers that impart beneficial performance properties to the filtration layer. In some embodiments, the filtration layer may be designed to have a desirable flame retardancy (e.g., F1 rating, K1 rating) and performance properties without compromising certain mechanical properties (e.g., pleatability of the media) and/or environmental attributes (e.g., relatively low toxicity). Filter media described herein may be particularly well-suited for applications that involve filtering air, though the media may also be used in other applications.
