FILTER DEVICE TO REMOVE PARTICLES FROM A VAPOUR STREAM
A filter device for reducing the amount of non-vaporous components in a vapour stream, including a carbon foam as filter material capable of being penetrated by the vapour stream and arranged in such a way that the only route for the vapour stream to pass the carbon foam is via penetration of the carbon foam. The device is in particular suitable for coating a substrate by physical vapour deposition of the vapour. The homogenous and single phase vapour stream produced by the filter device results in a smooth coated substrate wherein splashes are virtually absent.

In an embodiment, a mask for preventing infection by a virus is provided. The mask includes a coated substrate having a breathing resistance (95 L/min, EN 149:2001) of about 6 mbar or less and a water droplet absorption time of less than about 5 seconds. The coated substrate includes a non-woven fabric having a weight of about 120 g/m.sup.2 or less according to ASTM D3776, and mineral oxide particles, iron oxide particles, or both, coupled to at least a portion of the non-woven fabric.
OIL PURIFICATION FILTER
An oil purification filter for purifying a contaminated oil includes a filter body having a first portion and a second portion, where at least the first portion is impregnated with a separation aid. The separation aid is substantially insoluble in the contaminated oil because of its polar properties, and the separation aid is configured to adsorb/absorb contaminating solids or dissolved impurities in the contaminated oil by chemical interactions. The filter body may comprise one or more sheets of cellulose fibers.
USE OF PHOTOTHERMAL AGENTS IN AIR FILTERS
A photothermal composition configured to be used in air filter for destroying bioaerosol particles by converting light energy emitted from a light source into heat energy including a photothermal agent is provided. The present invention also concerns an air filter for collecting the bioaerosol particles in an air flow and destroying said bioaerosol particles deposited thereon, including a photothermal agent which converts light energy emitted from a light source into heat energy.
Filter Medium for Separating Nitrogen Oxides
A filter medium is provided with a layer (A) provided with non-impregnated active carbon, a layer (B) with a solid carrier material that is impregnated with a permanganate salt, and a layer (C) with alkaline impregnated active carbon. The layer (B) and the layer (C) are arranged such that a gas flowing through the filter medium flows through the layer (B) before flowing through the layer (C). The layer (A) is arranged such that the gas flowing through the filter medium flows through the layer (A) before flowing through the layer (B) or the gas flowing through the filter medium flows through the layer (A) after flowing through the layer (C).
LONG-LIFE AIR FILTER FOR AUTOMOBILES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE LONG-LIFE AIR FILTER
An air filter for automobiles includes, a main filter and a prefilter, wherein the prefilter comprises a nonwoven synthetic fiber having an average density of 0.01 to 0.5 g/cm.sup.3 and a moisture absorbent is adsorbed to the prefilter.
COATED SUBSTRATES AND ARTICLES WITH ANTI-VIRAL PROPERTIES, AND FABRICATION PROCESSES
Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to coated substrates having, e.g., anti-viral properties, to articles including the coated substrates, and to processes for making such coated substrates and articles. In an embodiment, a coated substrate is provided. The coated substrate includes a substrate having a weight of about 120 g/m.sup.2 or less according to ASTM D3776, mineral oxide particles, iron oxide particles, or both, coupled to at least a portion of the substrate wherein the coated substrate has a breathing resistance (95 L/min, EN 149:2001) of about 6 mbar or less.
POROUS CERAMIC LAMINATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A porous ceramic laminate, which can reduce pressure loss of a fluid, includes a first porous layer and a second porous layer. The second porous layer is laminated on, in contact with or via air, the first porous layer. A part of the second porous layer is laminated on, in contact with, the first porous layer. Each of the first porous layer and the second porous layer contains a metal oxide. A ratio Da/Db of an average pore diameter Da of the first porous layer relative to an average pore diameter Db of the second porous layer is 10 or more. A proportion of a portion in which a distance between the first porous layer and the second porous layer is smaller than 1 μm is 70% or less.
Air Filtration Systems and Methods of Forming an Air Filtration System
Embodiments relate to systems and methods for forming an air filtration system. The system includes an air filter. The air filter includes a plurality of filtration surfaces, including a first outer filtration surface, a second outer filtration surface opposite to the first outer filtration surface, and one or more inner filtration surfaces provided between the first and second outer filtration surfaces. The plurality of filtration surfaces may be configured to trap one or more airborne particulates, including viruses and/or bacteria. The air filtration assembly further includes a disinfectant coating. The disinfectant coating is formed on at least a portion of the plurality of filtration surfaces. The disinfectant coating may be for use in disinfecting trapped airborne particulates. The disinfectant coating includes a performance layer. The performance layer includes metal ions. The disinfectant coating further includes an enhancement layer. The enhancement layer includes carbonates.
NON-WOVEN FABRIC AND SEPARATOR FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL ELEMENTS
It is an object of the present invention to provide a nonwoven fabric having mechanical strength which is hardly cut and broken by an external force, and a separator for electrochemical devices using the nonwoven fabric.
The inventive nonwoven fabric has a sum of tensile strengths by zero-span per basis weight in the machine direction and the cross-machine direction of 6.5N/50 mm or more. Thus, the strength of the constituent fibers of this nonwoven fabric against an external force is high, and this nonwoven fabric has mechanical strength which is hardly cut and broken by an external force.
The separator for electrochemical devices of the present invention is composed of this nonwoven fabric.
