Compact Desiccant Air Breather with Unidirectional Air Flow
20170354917 · 2017-12-14 ·

A compact desiccant air breather with unidirectional air flow comprises a housing with a plurality of air inlets adjacent an upper end for air intake. A desiccant bed of water absorbing material is within the intake flow path of air and an air chamber is within the intake flow path of air downstream of the desiccant bed. A one-way inflow check valve is adjacent the desiccant bed between the desiccant bed and the air chamber and is configured to allow airflow from the desiccant bed material to the air chamber and to prevent reverse airflow. A coupling member has an air flow conduit there-through which is in fluid communication with the air chamber and forms an air intake flow path exit. A one-way exhaust check valve in fluid communication with the air chamber is configured to allow airflow from the air chamber to the exterior and to prevent reverse flow.

Carbon capture system, apparatus, and method
11680504 · 2023-06-20 · ·

A combined power conversion and carbon capture and recycling subsystem including a fossil fueled oxidation unit, a physical adsorbent CO2 capture medium, rotor, motor, heater, CO2 compressor, diffuser and water storage tank. Exhaust gas from fossil fuel oxidation is scrubbed of CO2 via passage across a physical adsorbent and then released from the adsorbent via fuel oxidation waste heat. High CO2 concentration scrubber exhaust air is then compressed and fed to a diffuser which facilitates dissociation of the CO2 into water where it is temporarily stored for use in watering plants. Carbon from fossil fuel is recycled back into the environment and permanently stored as biomass by natural means of photosynthesis.

METHOD FOR GAS SEPARATION

A method for separating at least one hydrocarbon from a feed containing a mixture of at least one hydrocarbon and nitrogen, comprising contacting the feed with an adsorbent comprising a porous support wherein the porous support comprises exchangeable cations and at least a portion of the exchangeable cations are organic cations.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TWO CONTAMINANTS IN A GAS STREAM
20170348629 · 2017-12-07 ·

A method for controlling two contaminants in a gas stream, comprising a system with two adsorption vessels, and analyzers for determining the concentration of the two contaminants is provided. The method includes purifying a gas stream with a first vessel placed in an adsorption mode and placing a second vessel in a standby mode. Then opening a second purge valve on the second vessel if the concentration of either contaminant is equal to or greater than predetermined threshold levels, thereby allowing a first portion of the purified gas exiting the first vessel to flow through the second vessel and exiting through the second purge valve. Then closing the second purge valve after a predetermined period of time when the concentration of both contaminants are less than or equal to a predetermined threshold level. Then switching the vessels and repeating the process.

PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SYNTHETIC QUARTZ GLASS USING A CLEANING DEVICE

A method for the production of synthetic quartz glass using a special cleaning device is provided. The method includes (a) evaporating a production material containing a polymerizable polyalkylsiloxane compound while forming a production material vapor, (b) passing the production material vapor resulting from step (a) through a cleaning device to purify the production material vapor, (c) supplying the purified production material vapor resulting from step (b) to a reaction zone in which the purified production material vapor is converted to SiO.sub.2 particles through oxidation and/or through hydrolysis, (d) depositing the SiO.sub.2 particles resulting from step (c) on a deposition surface, and optionally drying and vitrifying the deposited SiO.sub.2 particles resulting from step (d) to form synthetic quartz glass. The cleaning device includes a bulk of porous silica particles which have a BET specific surface area of at least 2 m.sup.2/g. A device for carrying out the method is also provided.
