PEROVSKITE BASED OXYGEN STORAGE MATERIALS
The present technology relates to perovskite materials for oxygen storage. In one aspect, the perovskite material includes at least one platinum group metal (PGM) andat least one perovskite compound selected from the group consisting of formula (a): La.sub.xMO.sub.3 and formula (b): La.sub.(1-y)Sr.sub.yMO.sub.3, wherein: M is selected from the group consisting of Co, Cu, Fe, Mn and Ni; x is about 0.7 to about 1.1; and y is 0 to about 0.8, and wherein M, x, and y are independently variable for each one of said perovskite compounds. In one exemplary method, the perovskite materials of the technology are employed to treat automotive exhaust gas. In one embodiment, the perovskite materials are included in the washcoat of an automotive catalytic converter.
Perovskite oxide compounds for use in exhaust aftertreatment systems
A method for removing NO.sub.X from an oxygen-rich exhaust flow produced by a combustion source that is combusting a lean mixture of air and fuel may include passing the oxygen-rich exhaust flow through an exhaust aftertreatment system that includes a NO.sub.X oxidation catalyst that includes perovskite oxide particles, a NO.sub.X storage catalyst, and a NO.sub.X reduction catalyst.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST
An exhaust gas purification catalyst includes: a first catalyst unit that consists of a hydrogen generating catalyst including a noble metal and an oxide that contains lanthanum, zirconium and an additional element such as neodymium; a second catalyst unit that consists of an oxygen storage/release material and a perovskite oxide disposed in contact with the oxygen storage/release material and represented by the general formula La.sub.xM1.sub.1-xM2O.sub.3-δ, where La is lanthanum, M1 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of barium (Ba), strontium (Sr) and calcium (Ca), M2 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of iron (Fe), cobalt (Co) and manganese (Mn), x satisfies 0<x≦1, and δ satisfies 0≦δ≦1; and a holding material that holds the first catalyst unit and the second catalyst unit in a mutually separated state.
EXHAUST-GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST AND EXHAUST-GAS TREATMENT APPARATUS
An exhaust-gas purification catalyst that contains a perovskite-type composite oxide composed of at least Ba, Zr, Y, and Pd.
Manganese oxide-lanthanum manganate-PGM composites for TWC applications
The present disclosure is directed to compositions for use in oxygen capture applications, for example in three-way catalysts (TWC) systems. In some embodiments, the compositions comprise composites of aggregated and/or fused primary particles, the aggregated and/or fused primary particles collectively having the formulae [MnO.sub.x]:.sub.y:[La.sub.zMnO.sub.3].sub.1-y; wherein x is in a range from about 1 to 2.5; y is in a range from about 1 to about 30 wt %, or from about 1 to about 20 wt % or from about 2-10 wt % or from about 2 to about 5 wt %; and z is about 0.7 to about 1.1; and the La.sub.zMnO.sub.3 is a crystalline perovskite phase; the aggregated and/or fused primary particles of the composite having a mean surface area in a range of from about 25 to about 60 m.sup.2/g, preferably from about 27 to about 45 m.sup.2/g. In preferred embodiments, these compositions further comprise low levels of at least one platinum group metal (PGM), preferably Pd.
COMPLEX OXIDES FOR REACTIVE OXYGEN SEPARATION AND RELATED APPLICATIONS
In one aspect, the disclosure relates to an oxygen-deficient mixed metal perovskite having the formula Sr.sub.xA.sub.1-xFe.sub.yB.sub.1-yO.sub.3-δ, wherein A can be Ca, K, Y, Ba, La, Sm, or any combination thereof; wherein B can be Co, Cu, Mn, Mg, Ni, Ti, or any combination thereof; wherein x is from 0 to 1; wherein y is from 0 to 1; and wherein δ is from 0 to 0.7. Also disclosed are redox catalysts comprising the oxygen-deficient mixed metal perovskites and methods for chemical looping air separation, chemical looping CO.sub.2 splitting, and chemical looping alkane conversion using the disclosed catalysts.
SURFACE-MODIFIED CERIA-ZIRCONIA MIXED OXIDE COMPOUND FOR GASOLINE EXHAUST GAS APPLICATIONS

Perovskites oxygen storage and release materials and their use for exhaust gas treatment
A catalyst system includes an oxygen storage and release material that has at least one compound of the structure YMO.sub.3+δ, where M is selected from Mn, Co, Cu, Ce, Ti, Ni, Zn, Fe and any combination thereof, and where δ is ≥0. The oxygen storage and release material is configured to allow absorption and release oxygen depending on the conditions of a reagent stream such that sufficient oxygen is maintained for the catalytic removal of at least one of incompletely combusted hydrocarbons, CO, and NO. The catalyst system is useful in a catalytic converter such that oxygen is supplied under rich combustion conditions in an engine upstream of the catalytic converter inlet and oxygen is adsorbed and absorbed under lean rich combustion conditions in the engine.
Perovskite catalysts and uses thereof
The present disclosure provides perovskite catalytic materials and catalysts comprising platinum-group metals and perovskites. These catalysts may be used as oxygen storage materials with automotive applications, such as three-way catalysts. They are also useful for water or CO.sub.2 reduction, or thermochemical energy storage.
