Hybrid binary catalysts, methods and uses thereof
The present disclosure describes hybrid binary catalysts (HBCs) that can be used as engine aftertreatment catalyst compositions. The HBCs provide solutions to the challenges facing emissions control. In general, the HBCs include a porous primary catalyst and a secondary catalyst. The secondary catalyst partial coats the surfaces (e.g., the internal porous surface and/or the external surface) of the primary catalyst resulting in a hybridized composition. The synthesis of the HBCs can provide a primary catalyst whose entire surface, or portions thereof, can be coated with the secondary catalyst.
Honeycomb filter
A honeycomb filter including: a pillar-shaped honeycomb structure having an inflow end face and an outflow end face and including a porous partition wall disposed so as to surround a plurality of cells, the plurality of cells extending from the inflow end face to the outflow end face; inflow side plugging portions disposed at open ends of predetermined cells on the inflow end face side; and outflow side plugging portions disposed at open ends of residual cells on the outflow end face side, wherein the outflow side plugging portions comprise first outflow side plugging portions and second outflow side plugging portions, the plugging length L1 of the first outflow side plugging portions is 10 to 50% of the overall length L0 of the honeycomb structure, and the plugging length L2 of the second outflow side plugging portions is less than 10% of the overall length L0 of the honeycomb structure.
Oxidation catalyst for treating the exhaust gas of a compression ignition engine
An exhaust system for a compression ignition engine comprising an oxidation catalyst for treating carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HCs) in exhaust gas from the compression ignition engine, wherein the oxidation catalyst comprises: a platinum group metal (PGM) component selected from the group consisting of a platinum (Pt) component, a palladium (Pd) component and a combination thereof; an alkaline earth metal component; a support material comprising a modified alumina incorporating a heteroatom component; and a substrate, wherein the platinum group metal (PGM) component, the alkaline earth metal component and the support material are disposed on the substrate.
NOVEL ZEOLITE SYNTHESIS WITH ALKALINE EARTH METAL
Provided are a novel form of AFX zeolite, a novel synthesis technique for producing pure phase small pore zeolites, a novel synthesis method for producing a zeolite with an increased Al pair content, a catalyst comprising the AFX zeolite in combination with a metal, and methods of using the same.
Noble metal-molecular sieve catalysts
Exhaust gas catalysts are disclosed. One exhaust gas catalyst comprises a noble metal and a molecular sieve, and has an infrared spectrum having a characteristic absorption peak from 750 cm.sup.1 to 1050 cm.sup.1 in addition to the absorption peaks for the molecular sieve itself. The exhaust gas catalyst also comprises a noble metal and a molecular sieve, having greater than 5 percent of the noble metal amount located inside pores of the molecular sieve. The exhaust gas catalyst also comprises a first and second molecular sieve catalyst. The first molecular sieve catalyst comprises a first noble metal and a first molecular sieve, and the second molecular sieve catalyst comprises a second noble metal and a second molecular sieve. The first and second molecular sieves are different. The invention also includes exhaust systems comprising the exhaust gas catalysts, and a method for treating exhaust gas utilizing the exhaust gas catalysts.
