POROUS CROSSLINKED MATERIAL, PREPARATION AND APPLICATION THEREOF
A TPC—OTBS n-hexane solution is added to a mixture of TPC—OSO.sub.2F, DMF, and DBU and allowed to stand to produce a crosslinked solvent gel; the crosslinked solvent gel is added to methanol, stirred, and dried to produce the porous crosslinked material. The gel acquired can be prepared into a pore-rich solid porous organic polymer material by means of solvent exchange. SEM and TEM are used to characterize the surface and internal morphologies of the solid material, and the porous morphology thereof is discovered, with large pores being the majority. Infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance are used to characterize the structure of a crosslinked polysulfate; the complete reaction of a sulfuryl fluoride group is proven by means of solid-state fluorine nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and XPS element analysis; and the porous structure of the crosslinked polysulfate allows same to be provided with improved application prospect in terms of adsorption.
METHODS FOR RECOVERING IODINE (I2)
Methods of recovering iodine (I.sub.2) from a stream including iodine (I.sub.2) vapor and at least one of: an inert gas and water vapor can include contacting the stream with an alkaline solution to form an iodide salt, contacting the stream with an adsorbent to selectively adsorb water from the stream, contacting the stream with a concentrated acid to absorb the water vapor from the stream, desublimating or condensing the iodine (I.sub.2) vapor to form solid or liquid iodine (I.sub.2), or contacting the stream with a material to condense or de-sublimate the iodine (I.sub.2) vapor from the stream as the material at least one of: absorbs latent heat through a phase change of the material and absorbs sensible heat.
RADIOACTIVE IODINE ADSORBENT, AND METHOD FOR TREATING RADIOACTIVE IODINE
Provided is a method for treating radioactive iodine contained in steam discharged from a nuclear power facility, including a filling step of filling an air-permeable container with a granulated radioactive iodine adsorbent of zeolite X, wherein ion exchange sites of the zeolite X are substituted with silver so that a size of minute pores of the zeolite X is suited to a size of a hydrogen molecule, and the radioactive iodine adsorbent has a silver content of 36 wt % or more when dried, a particle size of 10×20 mesh, a hardness of 94% or more, and a water content of 12 wt % or less when dried at 150° C. for 3 h and thereby reduced in weight; and a flow passing step of passing a flow of the steam discharged from the nuclear power facility, through the container filled with the radioactive iodine adsorbent.
Treatment method of radioactive iodine-containing fluid
The present invention provides a treatment method of a radioactive iodine-containing fluid, comprising passing the radioactive iodine-containing fluid through an adsorbent for iodine consisting of a silver-containing binderless zeolite molded body having a silver content of 50 mass % or less, to adsorb the radioactive iodine on the adsorbent for iodine.
Control of wet scrubber oxidation inhibitor and byproduct recovery
The present disclose is directed to a method for controlling iodine levels in wet scrubbers, and, in particular, recirculating wet scrubbers by removing the iodine from the scrubbing solution, such as by using ion exchange, absorption, adsorption, precipitation, filtration, solvent extraction, ion pair extraction, and an aqueous two-phase extraction.
Compositions comprising metal organic frameworks for the uptake of compounds and related methods
Compositions and methods for adsorption of a species (e.g., ammonia, water, a halogen) comprising metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are generally provided. In some embodiments, a MOF comprises a plurality of metal ions, each coordinated with at least one ligand comprising at least two unsaturated N-heterocyclic aromatic groups arranged about an organic core.
Polymeric sorbents for reactive gases
Polymeric sorbents for reactive gases are provided. More particularly, the polymeric sorbents are a reaction product of a divinylbenzene/maleic anhydride precursor polymeric material with a nitrogen-containing compound. The polymeric sorbent has nitrogen-containing groups that are covalently attached to the polymeric sorbent. The nitrogen-containing groups include a primary amino group, a secondary amino group, a tertiary amino group, or a combination thereof. Additionally, methods of sorbing reactive gases on the polymeric sorbents and compositions resulting from the sorption of reactive gases on the polymeric sorbents are provided.
Vertical column apparatus for mass exchange processes
The present invention relates to a vertical column apparatus (1) for mass exchange processes in the chemical, oil or gas industry and in particular, for the production of iodine from formation water of oil and gas fields, comprising: a gas outlet (2) at the top and a liquid outlet (3) at the bottom of the column (1); a packed section (4) between the top and the bottom of the column (1), wherein the column (1) has a liquid inlet (5) above the packed section (4) and a gas inlet (6) below the packed section (4), wherein an upper portion (7) of the column (1) has a larger diameter (d.sub.u) compared to a diameter (d.sub.p) of the packed section (4).
Method for Purifying a Gaseous, Liquid or Aerosol Composition Containing at Least One Polluant
