Remote monitoring of adsorber process units
Adsorbers have many purposes in chemical, gas-processing, and petrochemical plants. Adsorbers may be used to remove components from gas streams. Adsorbers may be subjected to various issues, including but not limited to moisture breakthrough, spent catalyst, too high or too low pressure drop, over or under heating, over or under cooling, too high or too low flow rates, which can affect their performance or result in a shutdown of the adsorbers. Monitoring the adsorbers and the processes using adsorbers may be performed to determine if the adsorbent bed is reaching saturation, other problems are occurring, or if equipment failures are imminent. Monitoring also helps to predict behavior or problems in different adsorbers used in the same plant or in other plants and/or processes.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR REGENERATION OF A LADEN SCRUBBING MEDIUM FROM A GAS SCRUBBING
The invention relates to a process for regenerating a laden scrubbing medium from a gas scrubbing for purifying raw synthesis gas in which the laden scrubbing medium is at least partially freed of bound gas constituents in a regeneration stage to obtain a regenerated scrubbing medium. According to the invention it is provided that after withdrawal from the regeneration stage the regenerated scrubbing medium is supplied to an intermediate vessel and the regenerated scrubbing medium is withdrawn from the intermediate vessel and supplied to an absorption apparatus for purifying raw synthesis gas. The invention further relates to an apparatus for performing the process according to the invention comprising a regeneration apparatus in which bound gas constituents are removable from a laden scrubbing medium, wherein according to the invention it is provided that the apparatus comprises an intermediate vessel into which a regenerated scrubbing medium producible in the regeneration apparatus is transferable and in which the regenerated scrubbing medium is storable.
Process for the purifying of a raw gas stream containing mainly C1-C5 hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide, and impurities of organic and inorganic sulfur compounds, halogenated and non-halogenated volatile organic compounds and oxygen
A method for the purification of a raw gas stream by selective catalytic oxidation, in which organic and inorganic sulfur compounds, halogenated and non-halogenated volatile organic compounds are selectively oxidized without substantially oxidizing the lower hydrocarbons and the sulfur containing compounds present in the gas to sulfur trioxide and excess of oxygen is removed by oxidation of lower alcohols, ethers or hydrogen added to the raw gas stream upstream the catalytic oxidation.
SYNERGIZED ACETALS COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR SCAVENGING SULFIDES AND MERCAPTANS
This invention provides a composition comprising I. at least one reaction product between a nitrogen-free monohydric alcohol and an aldehyde or ketone, and II. at least one reaction product between a monosaccharide having 3 to 6 carbon atoms and/or an oligosaccharide being formed by oligomerization of monosaccharides having 3 to 6 carbon atoms and an aldehyde or ketone, and optionally III. at least one reaction product from III.a) formaldehyde, and III.b) an amine, selected from the group consisting of primary alkyl amines having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and primary hydroxy alkyl amines having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and optionally IV. at least one solid suppression agent selected from the group consisting of IV(a). alkali or alkaline earth metal hydroxides IV(b). mono-, di- or tri-hydroxy alkyl, aryl or alkylaryl amines, IV(c). mono-, di- or tri-alkyl, aryl or alkylaryl primary, secondary and tertiary amines or IV(d). multifunctional amines and IV(e). mixtures of compounds of groups IV(a) to IV(c).

A METHOD FOR INTER-BED COOLING IN WET GAS SULFURIC ACID PLANTS
In a method for cooling of process gas between catalytic layers or beds in a sulfuric acid plant, in which sulfuric acid is produced from feed gases containing sulfurous components like SO.sub.2, H.sub.2S, CS.sub.2 and COS or liquid feeds like molten sulfur or spent sulfuric acid, one or more boilers, especially water tube boilers, are used instead of conventional steam superheaters to cool the process gas between the catalytic beds in the SO.sub.2 converter of the plant. Thereby a less complicated and more cost efficient heat exchanger layout is obtained.
METHOD FOR THE REMOVAL OF OXYGEN FROM AN INDUSTRIAL GAS FEED
Oxygen is removed from a gas feed such as a landfill gas, a digester gas or an industrial CO.sub.2 off-gas by heating the feed gas, optionally removing siloxanes and silanols from the heated feed gas, optionally removing part of the sulfur-containing compounds in the heated feed gas, injecting one or more reactants for oxygen conversion into the heated feed gas, carrying out a selective catalytic conversion of any or all of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in the gas, including sulfur-containing compounds, chlorine-containing compounds and any of the reactants injected, in at least one suitable reactor, and cleaning the resulting oxygen-depleted gas.
