Methods for absorbing a targeted compound from a gas stream for subsequent processing or use
The present invention describes methods for absorbing a targeted chemical compound from a gas stream into a scrubbing solution for various uses and with various benefits. Methods are described to produce a gas stream that can be further processed with operational benefits, such as through condensing and wastewater treatment with a lower load on the wastewater treatment system. Methods are described for adsorbing the targeted compound with reduced condensation of water from the gas stream. Methods are described for producing a liquid stream comprising an absorbed form of the targeted compound for use as a saleable product, such as adsorbing ammonia for the production of a fertilizer, wherein the concentration of the absorbed form may be increased through reduced condensation from the gas stream. Methods are described for producing a lower volume liquid waste stream from the absorption process through the use of reduced condensation of the gas stream.
AUTOMATIC SENSING VENT HOOD
A vent hood is configured to receive air from a cooking environment, the vent hood including a filter. A post-filter air quality sensor is configured to provide an air quality signal indicative of sensed air quality parameters of air after exiting the filter. A vent hood controller is configured to indicate an alert that the filter requires servicing, based on a comparison of the sensed air quality parameters to baseline air quality parameters indicating a lack of filter efficiency.
System and method for identifying an emissions control failure in an indoor smoker
An indoor smoker includes a smoking chamber and an air handler for drawing a flow of smoke from the smoking chamber through an exhaust duct. A catalytic converter is positioned in the exhaust duct and includes a catalytic element and catalytic heater for heating the catalytic element to a temperature suitable for regulating emissions from the flow of smoke. A temperature sensor is used to monitor the temperature of the catalytic element, and smoke generation is stopped when the catalyst temperature drops below a temperature threshold or drops at a rate that exceeds a threshold rate, which may be indicative of a failure of the catalyst heater or air handler.
Plenum separator
Embodiments herein provide a plenum separator for removing excess oil from fried food items, and then separating the oil from an air/oil mixture. A system for feeding fried food items with excess oil thereon may extend across and above the width of the plenum. A sink may be disposed at a bottom of the plenum. A blower typically draws air from the second end of the pipe, causing the air/oil mixture to be drawn into the slot and through the inner channel, with at least a portion of the air in the air/oil mixture passing through the opening in the pipe, with at least a portion of the oil in the air/oil mixture falling to the sink, and with at least a portion of the air/oil mixture passing from the inner channel to the outer channel and through the elongated aperture to be recirculated through the inner channel.
HEATING COOKER SYSTEM AND DEODORIZATION METHOD
Provided is a compact heating cooker system capable of discharging steam and smoke generated when heating and cooking food. A heating cooker system 1A includes a table 10 and a heating cooker 20. The heating cooker 20 includes a casing 21 having an exhaust port 21a, a heat source 22 for heating a cooking utensil X, a top plate 23 having a plurality of suction holes 23a in communication with the exhaust port 21a, an exhaust passage 27 in communication with the exhaust port 21a, a filter 24 arranged inside the exhaust passage 27, an exhaust fan 25 arranged downstream of the filter 24, and a deodorizing device 26 arranged downstream of the exhaust fan 25.
Smoke Evacuating Fryer
A smoke evacuating fryer, comprising a fryer body, an exhaust vent, a lid engaged on the fryer body, and a frying basket and a smoke evacuating and filtering apparatus provided within the fryer body An air intake gap is provided at a location where the lid and the fryer body are joined. The smoke evacuating and filtering apparatus is provided on the fryer body (1) and abuts against the frying basket. Air introduced into the air intake gap is passed over the frying basket, filtered by the smoke evacuating and filtering apparatus and then discharged via the exhaust vent.
System and method for washing and treating fermentation odor and combustion flue gas
A washing treatment system includes an odor and flue gas washing tower, a biological deodorization filtering tower, a multifunctional biomass combustion boiler, a liquid fermentation reactor, a solid fermentation reactor, circulating pumps, an exhaust fan and an induced draft fan. An exhaust port is formed in a top end cover of the odor and flue gas washing tower. A liquid inlet, an air inlet and a liquid drainage port are formed in a side wall of a tank body. A hanging basket is placed in the tank body. Organic fillers and/or inorganic fillers are placed in the hanging basket. An inner cavity of the washing tower is divided into a liquid inlet shunting cavity, a filler layer, an air cavity and a liquid accumulation cavity from top to bottom. An upper supernatant in the liquid fermentation reactor is connected with the liquid inlet for washing.
AIR TREATMENT METHOD
A built-in apparatus and method for treating air including a housing with an air inlet and an air outlet. An air mover positioned near the air outlet is configured to draw the air through the air inlet. The housing encloses an air treatment zone, such as including an oxidizing zone, and an ozone removal zone positioned downstream of the air treatment zone and oxidizing zone. The air treatment zone includes UV light and/or ozone that partially oxidizes the chemical contaminants in the air treatment zone. A catalyst in the oxidizing zone oxidizes elements within the air treatment zone. The ozone removal zone includes a second, different catalyst material. A UV bulb that may or may not generate ozone is positioned within or downstream of the first and/or second catalyst materials to assist catalyst oxidation and/or self-clean the apparatus.
MEMBRANE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR USE IN SHIPPING CONTAINER
This invention relates to a method of, and apparatus for, controlling gas composition within a refrigerated container, such as to extend the life of perishable goods during transport within the refrigerated container. The invention involves contacting a blended airstream with a membrane system. The blended air stream is formed from a first air stream withdrawn from the refrigerated container and a second air stream obtained from an ambient environment external to the refrigerated container. The invention also relates to a refrigerated container, a membrane system, a gas membrane separation module and method for installing the apparatus, membrane system or gas membrane separation module into or onto a refrigerated container.
