CZTS sorbent
Various embodiments disclosed relate to extraction of target materials using a CZTS sorbent. A method of extracting a target material from a medium includes contacting a copper zinc tin sulfur (CZTS) sorbent with the target material in the medium including the target material to form a used CZTS sorbent that includes the target material.
PROCESS FOR CONCENTRATING CO2 FROM AIR AND DILUTE CO2 STREAMS USING MOF BASED PHYSISORBENTS
A method for capturing CO.sub.2 from a gas stream using a metal organic framework (MOF) based physisorbent CO.sub.2 concentrator is provided. In the method, MOF material is pretreated, a gas stream is then introduced into the CO.sub.2 concentrator which comprises the pretreated MOF material. CO.sub.2 from the gas stream is captured with the CO.sub.2 concentrator to generate a CO.sub.2-free stream, which is discharged the from the CO.sub.2 concentrator into the atmosphere. Introduction of the gas stream into the CO.sub.2 concentrator is stopped when the pretreated MOF material becomes saturated with CO.sub.2. The CO.sub.2 concentrator with the saturated MOF material is then regenerated by introducing hot air, hot nitrogen, vacuum, or a combination thereof into the CO.sub.2 concentrator thereby generating a CO.sub.2-rich stream. The CO.sub.2-rich stream is diverted for purification and the regenerated CO.sub.2 concentrator is recycled for future capture of CO.sub.2.
GAS SEPARATION ARTICLES COMPOSED OF AMORPHOUS FLUORINATED COPOLYMERS OF DIOXOLANES AND OTHER FLUORINATED RING MONOMERS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THEREOF
Described herein are articles for separating gases. The article includes an amorphous fluorinated copolymer containing, one or more types of fluorinated dioxolane ring monomers, and one or more types of fluorinated non-dioxolane ring monomers, optionally with crosslinking between the fluorinated copolymer chains. The copolymers of fluorinated dioxolane ring monomers and fluorinated non-dioxolane ring monomers show a large differential in the permeability of certain gases compared with other gases. The resulting polymer membranes have superior selectivity and reliability performance in certain gas separations compared with previous compositions known to the art. Methods for making and using the article described are also provided,
POROUS CERAMIC SUPPORTS FOR RESISTIVELY HEATED HYBRID GAS SORBENTS
A porous sorbent ceramic product includes a three-dimensional structure having an electrically conductive ceramic material, wherein the conductive ceramic material has an open cell structure with a plurality of intra-material pores, a sorbent additive primarily present in the intra-material pores of the conductive ceramic material for adsorption of a gas, and at least two electrodes in electrical communication with the conductive ceramic material.
MASS TRANSFER COLUMNS AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION
A mass transfer column is provided in which a shell is formed of one or more side walls having an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton includes a plurality of vertical trusses joined together by crossing rails. An inner skin is supported by the vertical trusses and rails and, together with a top and bottom of the shell, defines an open internal region that may be pressurized and in which mass transfer process may occur. Horizontally extending beams that may be in the form of trusses span the open internal reaion and are supported by the exoskeleton. Internals such as structured packing may be supported on the horizontally extending beams.
BIOFILTRATION-APPARATUS AND -METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF GASES/VAPORS AND/OR COMBUSTION FLUE GASES
The invention concerns a method and the related apparatuses for carrying out the treatment of gases/vapors and/or combustion flue gases containing pollutants such as NO.sub.x, SO.sub.2, CO, CO.sub.2, O.sub.3, CH, NH.sub.3, H.sub.2S, C.sub.2H.sub.6S, VOC, dioxins, and other elements (including heavy metal particulates PM10 and PM2.5 and PM1).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOVING DRILLING FLUID FROM DRILL CUTTINGS USING DIRECT HEAT
Systems and methods for removing drilling fluid from wet drill cuttings are described. According to some embodiments, the method comprises, at a pressure above atmospheric pressure: combusting a rich air-fuel mixture at a rich combustion temperature, thereby producing a generally low oxygen, inert rich exhaust; providing said rich exhaust to the wet drill cuttings to contact and directly heat the wet drill cuttings by convection so that at least a portion of the drilling fluid is evaporated therefrom and at least some dry solid drill cuttings remain; condensing at least a portion of the evaporated drilling fluid to produce condensed drilling fluid; and separately recovering the condensed drilling fluid and the dry solid drill cuttings.
