Injecting CO2 that is diluted within water, into a coal seam, which allows for the sequestering and control of downhole CO2 within connected fractures without damaging the subterranean formation.
High pressure process for CO.SUB.2 .capture, utilization for heat recovery, power cycle, super-efficient hydrogen based fossil power generation and conversion of liquid CO.SUB.2 .with water to syngas and oxygen
The present invention relates to a high pressure process for Pre-Combustion and Post-Combustion CO.sub.2 capture (HP/MP/LP gasification) from a CO.sub.2 gas stream (CO2-Stream) by way of CO.sub.2 total subcritical condensation (CO2-CC), separation of liquid CO.sub.2, higher pressure elevation of obtained liquid CO.sub.2 via HP pump, superheating of CO.sub.2 up to high temperature for driving of a set of CO.sub.2 expander turbines for additional power generation (CO2-PG), EOR or sequestration (First new Thermodynamic Cycle). The obtained liquid CO.sub.2 above, will be pressurized at a higher pressure and blended with HP water obtaining high concentrated electrolyte, that is fed into HP low temperature electrochemical reactor (HPLTE-Syngas Generator) wherefrom the cathodic syngas and anodic oxygen will be performed. In particular the generated HP oxygen/syngas will be utilized for sequential combustion (“H.sub.2/O.sub.2-torches”) for super-efficient hydrogen based fossil power generation (Second new Thermodynamic Cycle).
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURE AND RECOVERY
Disclosed are methods and systems for capturing carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) from an input gas stream (e.g., flue gas from a combustion process). In particular, the system includes a CO.sub.2 absorption module that directs supersaturated CO.sub.2 process water to a CO.sub.2 recovery process. The CO.sub.2 recovery process includes a sparging seal vessel, followed by an agitator, followed by a stripper unit, followed by an outgassing tank, and lastly a membrane separator, configured to outgas CO.sub.2 from the supersaturated process water and direct the gaseous CO.sub.2 into a CO.sub.2 collection header.
METHOD TO DRY A HYDROCARBON GAS STREAM
A method to dry a gas stream that includes methane and condensable components that have a lower boiling point than methane by: combining the gas stream with a cold liquid stream in a gas mixer to produce a mixed stream that is colder than the gas stream and to condense a first portion of the condensable components; passing the mixed stream through a first separator to remove the condensed first portion and obtain a second gas stream; lowering a pressure and temperature of the second gas stream in an expansion device to obtain a third gas stream and condense a second portion of the condensable components; passing the third gas stream through a second separator to remove the condensed second portion and obtain a dried gas stream; and recirculating at least a portion of the condensed second portion into the in-line gas mixer as the cold liquid stream.
POLYMERIC SORBENT FIBER COMPOSITIONS INCORPORATING METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS
Fiber compositions are provided that incorporate metal organic framework (MOF) materials into the polymeric matrix of the fiber. The metal organic framework materials can be incorporated by including MOF particles into a “dope” or synthesis solution used to form the fiber. The dope solution can then be used to form fibers that include 5.0 wt % or more of MOF in the resulting polymeric structural material of the fiber, relative to a weight of the fibers. In some aspects, the metal organic framework material can correspond to a MOF with selectivity for adsorption of CO.sub.2.
ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CAPTURING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM FLUE GAS AND DECOMPOSING NITROSAMINE COMPOUNDS
An electrochemical cell includes (a) an anode including a first liquid permeable carbon cloth carbon electrode and a first current collector, (b) a cathode including a second liquid permeable carbon cloth electrode and a second current collector, (c) a separator made from an insulating material, and (d) a current source applying an electrical current to said anode and said cathode.
Methods for treating a flue gas stream using a wet scrubber unit
Sorbent compositions, comprising a solid sorbent, a dispersive agent, and optionally a capture agent for enhanced wet-Flue Gas Desulfurization (wFGD) or wet scrubber unit function in a flue gas pollutant control stream is disclosed. The sorbent composition may include a sorbent with a dispersive agent, designed to enhance the dispersion of the sorbent in an aqueous sorption liquid of a wet scrubber unit, and therefore may be especially useful in EGU or industrial boiler flue gas streams that include one or more wet scrubber units. The sorbent composition may also include a capture agent useful in sequestering mercury and bromine, as well as other contaminants that may include arsenic, selenium and nitrates.
Porous liquid and methods of making and using the same
The present disclosure relates to a porous liquid or a porous liquid enzyme that includes a high surface area solid and a liquid film substantially covering the high surface area solid. The porous liquid or porous liquid enzyme may be contacted with a fluid that is immiscible with the liquid film such that a liquid-fluid interface is formed. The liquid film may facilitate mass transfer of a substance or substrate across the liquid-fluid interface. The present disclosure also provides methods of performing liquid-based extractions and enzymatic reactions utilizing the porous liquid or porous liquid enzyme of the present disclosure.
