Air purification apparatuses and methods are provided. An air purification apparatus includes an air purification chamber and a supply chamber coupled to the air purification chamber. The air purification chamber includes a purification reactor, a first electron accelerator that irradiates a first electron beam to the purification reactor, and a second electron accelerator that irradiates a second electron beam to the purification reactor. The supply chamber includes a power supply that supplies power to each of the first electron accelerator and the second electron accelerator. The second electron accelerator is opposite to the first electron accelerator across the purification reactor.

SELF-POWER AIR REFRESHER SYSTEM

A self-power air refresher system includes an air refresher apparatus and a plant microbial fuel cell (PMFC). The air refresher apparatus includes a fan, a filter located on an air-outlet path of the fan, and an energy storage device connected to the fan. The PMFC is disposed on the air-outlet path and includes soil contained in a container, a plant planted in the soil, and a first and second electrodes. The interaction between roots of the plant and microorganisms near the roots generates electrons, and the electrons are transmitted to the energy storage device through the first and second electrodes installed in the soil so as to enable the energy storage device to supply power to the fan. The air that has passed through the filter enters the soil of the PMFC, and is filtered by the plant and then discharged from the container.

Systems for treating air in a wet well are provided. For example, a system comprises a housing with inlet and outlet openings, where the inlet opening is on the bottom wall. The inlet opening is covered by a screen or has a filter installed within or adjacent to the opening. The system further comprising an ionization device configured to generate bi-polar ions within a compartment of the housing and a fan disposed within the compartment. The fan has an air outlet mounted to the wall of a body of the housing orthogonal to the bottom wall, where the air outlet of the fan is aligned with the outlet opening in the wall. Power is supplied from an external power source. The power is selectively connected to at least the ionization device based on a criterion.

A process for direct compression of hydrogen separated from a hydrocarbon source is described herein. The process comprises a first zone wherein a hydrocarbon reaction that produce hydrogen occurs, a ceramic proton conductor which under an applied electric field transport hydrogen from said first zone to said second zone, and a second zone where compressed hydrogen is produced. The heat energy generated by ohmic resistance in the membrane is partially recuperated as chemical energy in the hydrocarbon reforming process to generate hydrogen.

When a voltage is applied between the working electrode and the counter electrode, electrons are supplied from the counter electrode to the working electrode, and the carbon dioxide adsorbent adsorbs carbon dioxide as the electrons are supplied. An electrolytic substance is provided between the working electrode and the counter electrode. The electrolytic substance is a substance having resistance to a redox reaction with at least one of the carbon dioxide contained gas, the working electrode, or the counter electrode when a voltage is applied between the working electrode and the counter electrode.
