PANEL FILTER ELEMENT
Panel filter elements having a pleat block and a seal member are described. The panel filter elements are arranged such that the seal members and pleat blocks can have curved and/or angled elements. The seal member of a filter element may be curved, angled, twisted, and/or has a varying cross-section. The inlet and outlet faces of the pleat block of the filter element may be curved and/or twisted instead of planar. In some arrangements, both the seal member of the filter element and the faces of the pleat blocks can be curved and/or twisted. The described filter elements may be may be flexible, such that the shape of the filter element and/or seal can conform to the shape of a filter housing, or rigid, such that the shape of the filter element remains substantially the same before and after installation into a filter housing.

Various example embodiments relate to filter elements. One such filter element includes filter media having a plurality of flow channels. Each of the plurality of flow channels comprises an inlet having an inlet height and an outlet having an outlet height. The inlet height is larger than the outlet height. The filter media defines an inlet face having an inlet face area and an outlet face having an outlet face area. The inlet face is structured to receive air to be filtered. The outlet face is structured to output filtered air. The inlet face area is larger than the outlet face area.
Reusable air filter system and method
A reusable air filter and methods are provided for filtering air being conducted to an air intake of an internal combustion engine. The reusable air filter comprises a filter medium configured to pass an airstream and entrap particulates flowing within the airstream. The filter medium is comprised of cotton gauze disposed in a sinusoidal arrangement that provides a filtration surface area that is larger than a perimeter area of the filter medium. An end cap and base may be configured to retain the filter medium therebetween. The base provides an interface between the air filter and an air inlet of the engine. The filter medium may be disposed in a flat, panel shape that is bordered by a supportive tray. Support rods may be embedded within the tray to prevent bowing of the tray due to air pressure when coupled with an air box of the engine.
ENLARGED OPENING FILTER BAGS, SUPPORT ASSEMBLIES, AND FILTER BAG ASSEMBLIES
Filter bags, filter bag support assemblies, and filter bag assemblies are described herein. The filter bags, filter bag support assemblies, and filter bag assemblies may be used in air filter systems to remove particulate matter from air or other gases. Methods of using the air filter systems and methods of assembling the filter bag assemblies are also described.
Removable air filter assemblies for aircraft
An air intake system for an aircraft engine includes an air duct having an inlet port to provide fluid communication between the inlet port and the engine and a removable air filter assembly configured to interface with the inlet port of the air duct and a skin of the aircraft. The air filter assembly includes an air filter frame having an outer wall and an inner wall, the outer wall of the air filter frame forming an air filter slot. The air filter assembly also includes a bypass door forward of the air filter slot and an air filter insertable into the air filter slot. The bypass door is movable between a closed door position and an open door position, air flowing to the inlet port of the air duct via the air filter in the closed door position and bypassing the air filter in the open door position.
FILTER MEDIA PACKS, METHODS OF MAKING AND FILTER MEDIA PRESSES
The disclosure is directed toward presses which may comprise planar or curved press plates that can be driven toward and away from each other such as via linear reciprocating movement to press filter media sheets as opposed to using rolls. The press plates can create such features as embossments that may have the ridges and grooves, brands, creases or other such features. The press can create pleated packs or individual panels for non-pleated packs. Additionally, a variety of embossed pleat packs, unique shapes, structural components and other pleat packs that may be formed by presses or other methodology are disclosed as well as filter cartridges using such pleat packs.

A filtration unit (1) comprising a support (10) arranged to receive a plurality of filter cartridges (11,11′), the support configured to allow a displacement of the cartridges between a working position (70), in which a first filter cartridge (11) is arranged with own inlet/outlet apertures (71′,71″) in communication with a fluid inlet and outlet line portions (7,8), respectively, and at least one standby position (75) configured for receiving a respective second filter cartridge (11′), an exchange mechanism (12) configured for causing the displacement of the cartridges between the at least one standby position and the working position, a differential pressure sensor (80) configured for measuring a pressure drop through first filter cartridge arranged in the working position and for generating a differential pressure signal (286) responsive to the pressure drop, a control unit (90) configured for receiving the differential pressure signal (86) and for providing an actuation signal (287) of the exchange mechanism, a program means resident in the control unit (90) and configured for generating the actuation signal (287) when the differential pressure signal indicates a pressure drop value exceeding a predetermined lower threshold value. This way, it is possible to arrange a clean filter cartridge in the at least one standby position, ready to be displaced to the working position in replacement of first filter cartridge, and the at least one second clean filter cartridge is transferred to the working position upon exceeding the differential pressure threshold value, remarkably limiting filter maintenance time and costs in a complex fluid distribution network.

A filter includes filter media and defines an inner plenum. The inner plenum has a cross-sectional dimension extending crosswise of the filter. The cross-sectional dimension decreases from adjacent the upstream side toward to downstream wall to a location disposed intermediate the upstream side and the downstream wall. The cross-sectional dimension of the inner plenum increases from adjacent the intermediate location toward the downstream wall.

A fluid filter has a filter housing with inlet opening for fluid to be cleaned and outlet opening for cleaned fluid. A filter element arranged in an element receptacle of the filter housing separates inlet opening from outlet opening. The filter housing has a housing body with an installation opening to the element receptacle, through which the filter element in an installation direction is introduced into the element receptacle. The filter housing has a housing cover for closing the installation opening. The installation opening is arranged in a transverse side of the housing body that is lateral relative to the housing axis. The filter housing has a sealing surface, surrounding the housing axis at least partially circumferentially, for contacting a seal of the filter element. The filter element has a seal support device for the seal and the filter housing has a pressing device for the seal support device.

A filter element has a filter medium body with a first side and an oppositely positioned second side, wherein one of the first and second sides is the inflow side of the filter medium body and the other one is the outflow side of the filter medium body. A first sealing or supporting element is arranged at the first side. A second sealing or supporting element is arranged at the second side. At least one force-transmitting adhesive bead extends between the first side and the second side, wherein the at least one adhesive bead is a force transmitting element extending between the first and second sealing or supporting elements.
