Wheelchair comprising energy absorber
The present disclosure relates to a wheelchair (1) comprising: a chassis (3), a seat system (5) attached to the chassis (3), which seat system (5) has a backrest (5b) having a front side (5c) and a backside (5d), and an energy absorber (9) having a proximal end (9a) attached to the seat system (5) or joining the chassis (3), a distal end (9b) having means that enable attachment of straps or belts to the distal end (9b), and an intermediate portion (9c) extending from the proximal end (9a) to the distal end (9b) in a direction from the front side (5c) towards the back side (5d), wherein the intermediate portion (9c) has a curved portion adapted to straighten and plastically deform when the energy absorber (9) is subjected to a pulling force above a predetermined threshold.
MEDICAL VEHICLE COMPRISING A COMPARTMENT WITH A MEDICAL IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A MEDICAL VEHICLE
The invention relates to a medical vehicle (1) comprising a compartment (2) with a medical imaging system (3), wherein the medical imaging system (3) comprises at least one system support sensor (4). The system support sensors (4) augment the vehicle's own sensors and/or replace equivalent sensors in the vehicle. The medical vehicle (1) is configured to obtain sensor readings from the at least one system support sensor (4) during operation of the medical vehicle (1), analyze the sensor readings and provide feedback based on the analyzed sensor readings. The invention further relates to a corresponding method for operating a medical vehicle (1).
Side Seat and Swivel Restraint System
A sideseat includes a sideseat base, turntable, posterior frame and backrest frame. The sideseat posterior frame is rotatably coupled to the sideseat base through the turntable. The turntable is positioned so that the sideseat turntable and combined frame components move from a deployed position to a locked position in response to an applied force.
Apparatus for protecting the safety of persons with restricted mobility in a vehicle
An apparatus is provided for protecting the safety of persons, in particular wheelchair users, in a vehicle. The apparatus includes a headrest and/or backrest, and at least one holder, to which the headrest and/or backrest is attached, for holding the headrest and/or backrest. The holder is adapted to change the horizontal distance (X.sub.K) of the headrest and/or the horizontal distance (X.sub.R) of the backrest in the direction of travel from the person. Advantageously, the holder includes at least one cushioning device for cushioning the impact of a person or a wheelchair against the headrest and/or backrest.
On-board power and remote power for suspended load control apparatuses, systems, and methods
Load control apparatuses, systems and methods to control a location, orientation, or rotation of a suspended load by imparting thrust with thrusters. The load control apparatuses, systems and method comprise an on-board power supply, a remote power supply, and a power control module. The power control module may distribute a pulse power to the thrusters from the on-board power supply and or from a combination of the on-board power supply and the remote power supply, may manage power between the on-board power supply and the remote power supply, and may to recharge the on-board power supply with the remote power supply.
Energy management system
A computing device is provided to monitor or ascertain various characteristics of one or more of a wheeled mobility device securement system, a wheeled mobility device, and an occupant of the wheeled mobility device. The computing device can send any and all data available to it, including but not limited to time, dynamic information concerning the vehicle, the wheeled mobility device securement system, the wheeled mobility device, and the occupant, the actions taken by the computing device during an adverse driving condition, and when those actions were taken, to memory for use after the adverse driving event for analysis purposes to understand and recreate the event.
GYROSCOPE ASSISTED HELICOPTER RESCUE LIFT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A patient litter basket spin control assembly includes a first gyroscope and a motion sensor for sensing an angular acceleration of a patient litter basket. The first gyroscope generates a counter torque to the litter basket to slow the angular acceleration of the litter basket to provide stabilization. The first gyroscope and a second gyroscope may be configured as a pair and located at opposite ends of the litter basket.
