Hemofilter For In Vivo Blood Filtration

Hemofilters for in vivo filtration of blood are disclosed. The hemofilters disclosed herein provide an optimal flow of blood through the filtration channels while maintaining a pressure gradient across the filtration channel walls to enhance filtration and minimize turbulence and stagnation of blood in the hemofilter.

Cartridge clamping device

A clamping device (1) is provided for cartridge filtration modules (2) that have a distribution plate (3) with a feed channel (18), a retentate channel (21), a filtrate channel, and a first contact surface (8). At least one filter cartridge can be clamped between a contact surface (8) of the distribution plate (3) and a clamping surface (29) of a clamping plate (4) that can be moved orthogonally to the contact surface (8). The cartridge filtration modules (2) can be stacked on one another in an area of their distribution plates (3). A common distribution plate (3) for adjacent filter cartridge arrangements can clamped against the contact surface (8). Adjacent filter cartridge arrangements can be connected in a parallel circuit via the distribution plate (3), and the cartridge filtration modules (2) that can be stacked on top of one another can be connected in series via the distribution plates (3).

Subsea Seawater Filtration Apparatus

A filtration apparatus includes a tubular casing having a longitudinal axis and first and second casing ends. A plurality of partition plates are positioned in the casing and sealed thereto to thereby define an intake collection chamber between a first of the partition plates and the first casing end, a discharge collection chamber between a second of the partition plates and the second casing end, and a reject collection chamber opposite the second partition plate from the second casing end. A plurality of elongated filtration membrane stacks are positioned side-by-side in the casing generally parallel to the longitudinal axis. Each filtration membrane stack includes an intake end which is fluidly connected to the intake collection chamber, a discharge end which is fluidly connected to the reject collection chamber, and a permeate channel which extends between the first and second ends and is fluidly connected to the discharge collection chamber.

Portable dialysis machine

The specification discloses a portable dialysis machine having a detachable controller unit and base unit. The controller unit includes a door having an interior face, a housing with a panel, where the housing and panel define a recessed region configured to receive the interior face of the door, and a manifold receiver fixedly attached to the panel. The base unit has a planar surface for receiving a container of fluid, a scale integrated with the planar surface, a heater in thermal communication with the planar surface, and a sodium sensor in electromagnetic communication with the planar surface. Embodiments of the disclosed portable dialysis system have improved structural and functional features, including improved modularity, ease of use, and safety features.

The present disclosure provides instruments, modules and methods for improved detection of edited cells following nucleic acid-guided nuclease genome editing. The disclosure provides improved automated instruments that perform methodsincluding high throughput methodsfor screening cells that have been subjected to editing and identifying cells that have been properly edited.

Modular distributor head for membrane housing bodies
10583399 · 2020-03-10 ·

Subject-matter of the invention is a modular distribution head for a membrane housing body including a front side, a pipe connection to the membrane housing body, a gasket to seal the membrane housing body which is placed in the pipe connection, at least two flow openings in the distribution head through which the liquid can flow in and out of the distribution head and the membrane housing body whilst the flow opening is e.g. a liquid inlet, a permeate outlet or a concentrate outlet. The use of the distribution head or plant as per the invention leads to a considerable reduction in space required. In addition to less required space, a further advantage of the distribution heads as per the invention is that the connector pieces and the hydraulic connections are no longer necessary since the distribution heads are directly connected to each other and less collector pipes are needed in a plant.
