ROLLATOR
A rollator for mobility assistance to a user is provided. The rollator includes a chassis foldable in a compacted configuration, wheels rotatably mounted to the chassis, wheel braking assemblies engageable with the wheels, and a pair of handgrips mountable to the chassis and operatively connected to the chassis. Both handgrips have to be configured in a handgrip displacement configuration to configure the wheel braking assemblies into a displacement configuration of the wheels and wherein both wheel braking assemblies are simultaneously in the displacement configuration. The rollator can include a seat assembly which can be configured in a raised configuration and a seated configuration. In the seated configuration, a pressure equal to or greater than a seat pressure threshold has to be applied on the seat for the wheel braking assemblies to be configured in the displacement configuration.
Auxiliary frame systems for wheelchairs
An auxiliary frame system for a wheelchair, the wheelchair having a frame comprising two openings to releasably attach axle portions of rear wheels and defining between them a main rear wheel axis; wherein the auxiliary frame system comprises: a pair of wheel displacing elements; fastening elements to releasably attach each wheel displacing element to the frame of the wheelchair through the openings; wheel holders for bearing respective rear wheels of the wheelchair, wherein each of the wheel holders is associated with a respective wheel displacing element, and the wheel holders define between them a shifted rear wheel axis; at least one anchoring link to releasably secure at least one of the wheel displacing elements to the frame of the wheelchair at an additional attachment point. Also provided are wheelchairs comprising such auxiliary frame system and methods to displace the position of rear wheels of a wheelchair.
Wheel apparatus for climbing stairs
A puncture resistant wheel apparatus, and method of use, for safely climbing obstacles are disclosed herein. A plurality of wheel apparatuses is mounted on a vehicle (e.g. a wheelchair, cart, mountain bicycle, etc.) to enable it to safely traverse obstacles, such as a flight of stairs, road curbs, etc. without slipping, and while creating a smoother ride. Each wheel apparatus comprises: a tire comprising a plurality of teeth sections separated via a thin space to grip an obstacle edge between the teeth; a circular rim attachable to the tire inner surface via T-joints, and a plurality of evenly spaced spokes extending to a central hub; and two hoop rings, mounted on opposing tire sidewalls. The center of each tire tooth section further comprises an elastic unit, comprising a vertical spring and two horizontal springs that further act to dampen the vibrational and jarring forces exerted on the wheel apparatus.
Electronic wheelchair having voice-recognition operating system
The present invention relates to an electric wheelchair having a voice recognition drive system comprising: a traveling apparatus main body unit which has a plurality of wheels in a lower end thereof; a seating unit which is installed in an upper end of the traveling apparatus main body unit so as to be able to be lifted; an auxiliary robot leg unit which is able to be inserted into and protrude from the traveling apparatus main body unit, and which includes multi-joint driven by an external force; and a voice recognition drive unit which extracts a preset command from an externally input voice, and which drives the plurality of wheels, lifts the seating unit, and drives the auxiliary robot leg unit.
Spacing bar of a wheelchair frame
A spacing bar of a wheelchair frame comprising an elongated structural body having a pair of opposite ends, each of the opposite ends having a C-shaped clamp configured for being clamped to respective lateral frame members of the wheelchair frame, wherein the elongated structural body and the C-shaped clamps are integrally made of a monocoque composite construction, and a tightening assembly for each of the C-shaped clamps, the tightening assemblies being arranged in the spacing bar to loosen and tighten the C-shaped clamps to the respective lateral frame members. A wheelchair frame comprising: a pair of lateral frame members configured to support at least a seat, and front and rear wheel units, the lateral frame members each having an elongated frame portion in a seating zone of the wheelchair frame, and a spacing bar having an elongated structural body and a pair of opposite ends, each of the opposite ends having a connector configured for being clamped to a respective one of the lateral frame member of the wheelchair frame, wherein each of the connectors forms a joint with the respective one of the elongated frame portions constraining the spacing bar to movement of the spacing bar axially along the pair of the elongated frame portion, a tightening assembly for each of the connectors, the tightening assemblies being arranged in the spacing bar to loosen and tighten the connectors to block or allow movement of the spacing bar along the pair of the lateral frame members.
WHEELCHAIR
A wheelchair comprises a frame and two main wheels each coupled to a hand rim for actuating the wheels in both directions of rotation and for braking.
WHEELCHAIR
A wheelchair comprises a frame and two main wheels each coupled to a hand rim for actuating the wheels in both directions of rotation and for braking.
Backstop and gear-shift arrangement for a wheelchair wheel
A wheel assembly comprising a wheelchair wheel (5) and a backstop arrangement (10; 30; 70) configured to selectively engage and disengage a backstop function and comprising a backstop selector (15; 35; 75) and a backstop member (18; 38; 78), wherein the wheel (5) comprises an internal-gear wheel hub (11; 31; 71) comprising a number of internal gears (57, 58) and having an inner rotatable circumferential surface (13; 33; 73), and wherein the backstop member is configured to allow the inner circumferential surface to rotate in one direction and to prevent rotation in the opposite direction. The wheel assembly comprises further a gear-shift arrangement comprising a shift member (54), which is axially moveable within the internal-gear hub (31) to engage a specific gear of said number of internal gears (57, 58), and wherein the shift member (54) via a connector member (55) is operatively connected to the backstop selector.

Wheelchair with two independent driving arms
Wheelchair with two independent driving arms fixed to the frame by pivot bearings at a low position. The driving arms extend to a sufficient height for the user to hold their upper portions and to move them in forward-backward directions around the pivotal bearings. Ropes are connected to the lower sections of the driving arms. Two large wheels have wheel hubs equipped with freewheel, and each wheel hub have a rope drums attached with a spring bias, and a winding made of rope. Pulling a the rope in forward direction results in turning the wheel hub in forward direction, and when the rope drum (31, 31′) is turned in the other direction the freewheel releases the connection towards the large wheel. The wheel hub comprises a release mechanism that releases the freewheel when the large wheel is moved in backward direction and backward movement gets allowed.
