Variable speed patient transfer apparatus

A patient transfer apparatus is provided and includes a frame, a seat assembly coupled to the frame, and a track assembly coupled to the frame. The track assembly includes a moveable track for traversing stairs and a motor configured to drive the track. The apparatus further includes a control system. The control system includes a controller configured to control the motor and to adjust a speed of the apparatus based on at least one of an occupancy of the seat assembly upon traversing the stairs and a condition of the stairs.

PERSONAL MOBILITY DEVICE
20200375826 · 2020-12-03 ·

A mobility device having a body, a plurality of arms, and a control module operable to control the angular positions of the plurality of arms and the body. The body includes a first side, a second side, a front end, a rear end, a first frame rotatable about a first axis, and a second frame rotatable about a second axis. The first axis is parallel to the second axis. Rotation of the first frame causes simultaneous rotation of the second frame in the opposite direction. Arms are rotatably supported on the first side of the body and other arms are rotatably supported on the second side of the body. Each arm includes a wheel. The arms are independently rotatable from the other arms.

Portable wheelchair ramp assembly

A portable wheelchair ramp assembly includes a ramp that is removably coupled to an armrest of a wheelchair such that the ramp is accessible to a user in the wheelchair. The ramp has an axle slot therein to accommodate a wheel axle of the wheelchair when the ramp is removably coupled to the wheelchair. The ramp is positionable to extend across uneven terrain to facilitate the wheelchair to cross the uneven terrain. A plurality of engagements is each coupled to the ramp and each of the engagements engages an arm rest on the wheelchair for storing the ramp. A plurality of brackets is each coupled to the arm rest of the wheelchair. Each of the brackets releasably engages a respective one of the engagements for retaining the ramp on the wheelchair for storage.

WHEELCHAIR RAMP

A ramp transportation system for a wheelchair enables transportation, deployment, and retrieval of a portable ramp by a single wheelchair occupant in the absence of external aid. The device comprises: a platform, configured to support the width of a wheelchair for crossing the platform, having a sufficient stiffness to support a wheelchair and occupant load; a lifting mechanism interface in the platform, disposed at least near each end of the ramp, configured to support cantilever lifting forces on the ramp; a lifting element, configured to engage the lifting mechanism interface and to apply a force to raise and lower the platform between a raised, stowed position and a lowered position, suitable for traversal; and a motor, configured to supply sufficient force on the lifting element to raise and lower the platform.

Elevated height wheelchair

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a wheelchair configured to reposition an occupant between a lowered and a raised position. The wheelchair can include a frame, a seat moveable relative to the frame, a drive wheel, and one or more pairs of arm assemblies. The arm assembly includes a wheel configured to move from a first spatial location when the wheel chair is operating on flat, level ground to a second spatial location that is different than the first spatial location. Arm limiters can selectively engage the arm assembly based on at least one of a seat position, position of the arm assembly and surface conditions of ground surface. The arm limiters can limit the range of motion of the arm assembly and sometimes other operational aspects of the chair.

Patient Transport Apparatus

A patient transfer apparatus includes a seat assembly, a track assembly coupled to the seat assembly and including a track configured to engage the stairs in a stair traversing position, and front wheels coupled to the seat assembly for engagement with a floor in a transport position. The seat assembly includes a frame and a seat for supporting a patient. A front end of the track assembly is adjacent the front wheels without interfering with movement of the wheels in the transport position.

Patient Transfer Apparatus with Integrated Tracks

A patient transfer apparatus configured to traverse stairs includes a seat assembly, a rear leg pivotably coupled to the seat assembly, a track integrated with the rear leg, and a wheel coupled to a distal end portion of the rear leg. The seat assembly includes a frame with a seat portion. The rear leg is pivotable relative to the seat portion between a transport position and a stair traversing position. In the transport position the wheel is configured to contact a floor, and in the stair traversing position the track is configured to contact the stairs.

User control device for a transporter

A user control device for a transporter. The user control device can communicate with the transporter via electrical interface(s) that can facilitate communication and data processing among the user interface device and controllers that can control the movement of the transporter. The user control device can perform automated actions based on the environment in which the transporter operates and the user's desired movement of the transporter. External applications can enable monitoring and control of the transporter.
