Powered patient support apparatus

Powered patient support apparatuses—such as beds, cots, stretchers, or the like—include a plurality of user controls that allow a caregiver to control the steering and/or driving of one or more powered wheels from multiple different locations around the patient support apparatus (e.g. head end, foot end, and/or the sides). The control is carried out by force sensors that detect both an orientation of the applied forces and a magnitude of the applied forces. Translational and/or rotational movement is effectuated, depending upon the magnitude and direction of the forces, as well as the physical location of the applied force relative to a reference point on the support apparatus, such as the center. One or more object sensors may also be included in the support apparatus to assist in steering and/or navigating.

Extension mobility via a headset connection

A method is disclosed for performing extension mobility via a headset connection. The method includes receiving a headset identifier from a headset. Also, the method includes, in response to receiving the headset identifier, sending the headset identifier to a device management server. Further, the method includes receiving a call control user identifier from the device management server, and sending, to a call control server, the call control user identifier. Still yet, the method includes receiving, from the call control server, a configuration profile associated with the call control user identifier. One or more settings of a desk phone are configured using the configuration profile.

An apparatus a and method for networked transportation of patients or people with impaired mobility in a hospital bed, or nursing bed, having the following method features: a) a patient in question or an applicable caregiver is reported by a control centre as in need of transportation from one ward A to another ward B, b) the nursing staff on ward A beds down or puts the person in question into a special transportation bed or a special transportation chair and reports to the control centre when this person is correctly supported, this being able to be checked by means of a pressure sensor (23) in the lying area or sitting area, the identity being ensured by the nursing staff or being able to be checked by means of a patient identity card, c) the patient is automatically moved to ward B, d) the patient is brought to his treatment in ward B and then transported back to ward A by the same route.

BED RAIL SAFETY GUARD

Safety guards for use with a bed rail are disclosed. A safety guard may be coupled to a mattress without being coupled to a bed rail, or a safety guard may be coupled to a mattress and to a bed rail. The safety guards may reduce a risk of entrapment between the mattress and the bed rail by distributing weight on the mattress across a wide surface area. A safety guard may be disposed underneath a sheet on the mattress. The safety guard may remain coupled to the mattress without inhibiting changing of sheets on the mattress.

POSTURE DETERMINATION APPARATUS
20230037703 · 2023-02-09 ·

A posture determination apparatus including at least two vibration sensors and a controller. The controller causes the vibration sensors to detect vibrations while the user is lying in bed, calculates waveforms from the detected vibrations and recognizes the characteristics of the waveforms, and determines the posture of the user based on the characteristics. Thereby, it is possible to provide a posture determination apparatus and capable of appropriately determining the posture of the user which is one factor of the state of the user.
