Female urinary cup
Methods and devices for holding liquid or solid materials including a cylindrical container, a holder, and a detachable handle, the handle capable of being adjusted to variable angles when coupled to the holder. Method of collecting material including the step of holding a graduated cylindrical container by a detachable variable angle handle. A kit for a female urinary cup for holding liquid or solid materials comprising a cylindrical container including exterior threads on which a cap may be screwed, a holder attached to a sidewall of the container, a detachable handle optionally coupled to the holder, the handle capable of being adjusted to variable angles when coupled to the holder, and instructions for use of the female urinary cup.
Self-compensating bed scale system for removable components
A patient support apparatus includes detectors and a controller operable to automatically update a tare weight for use in determining a true patient weight. The detectors are configured to produce signals indicating a presence or absence of a corresponding removable component. The controller is configured to determine weights of each and every removable component on the patient support apparatus and store each weight in a memory. The controller is further configured to receive the signals produced by the detectors and detect any addition or removal of removable components of the patient support apparatus, update the tare weight, and determine a weight of a patient being supported on the patient support apparatus.
METHODS OF MANUFACTURE OF CONTAINERS, PRE-CONTAINERS, BLANKS FOR CONTAINERS AND CONTAINERS FOR RETAINING FLUIDS
A method of producing a container for retaining fluid, the method comprises the steps of: providing a blank which, when assembled, forms a container; folding the blank along one or more fold lines across the blank's width to form a substantially rectangular side wall such that first and second ends of the substantially rectangular side wall are brought into close proximity; sealing the first and second ends of the substantially rectangular side wall to one another; deforming one or more deformable portions which span across the one or more fold lines such that the deformable portions are disposed inwardly in order to force the remainder of the side wall outwards to create an opening within the blank; and sealing a base around the circumference of a first edge of the side wall.
Apparatus and methods for receiving discharged urine
A system suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person or animal may include an assembly having a fluid impermeable casing having a fluid reservoir at a first end, a fluid outlet at a second end, and a longitudinally extending fluid impermeable layer coupled to the fluid reservoir and the fluid outlet and defining a longitudinally elongated opening between the reservoir and the outlet. The assembly can further include a fluid permeable support disposed within the casing with a portion extending across the elongated opening, and a fluid permeable membrane disposed on the support and covering at least the portion of the support that extends across the elongated opening, so that the membrane is supported on the support and disposed across the elongated opening. The assembly can further include a tube having a first end disposed in the reservoir and a second, fluid discharge end.
FEMALE EXTERNAL URINARY DEVICE AND ASSEMBLY
Disclosed is a female external urinary device useful in managing urine output of a female, such as for surgical use. The urinary device generally comprises a core having a suction channel and an interior reservoir fluidically communicating with the suction channel, an absorbent layer, and a fabric cover. Desirably, the urinary device includes a moderately absorbent soaker layer disposed inwardly with respect to the core. A urinary device assembly includes the core and a pelvic belt that may be secure to the core and positioned to collect urine from a female patient.
LIQUID CONTAINER
A liquid container comprises a rigid planar material defining first and second faces interconnected by at least two connecting edges, and each face has an inner surface and an outer surface. The container is characterised in that it is configured to be converted, upon application of substantially opposing forces to two sides of the container, from a planar configuration, in which the inner surface of the first face is substantially adjacent to the inner surface of the second face, to an open configuration, in which the inner surfaces of the first and second faces are spaced apart and which, in combination with the at least two connecting edges, define a volume therebetween for containing liquid.
Hospital bed, a method for moving a patient, and a system including a detachable sanitary station
A hospital bed provides improved handling of non-ambulatory patients and others who cannot easily be moved, such as to a hospital room toilet. The hospital bed includes a flexible mattress and a belt attached to the flexible mattress ends. The hospital bed frame has a pallet for supporting the flexible mattress and a chute attached to the frame beneath the pallet that receives the end of the flexible mattress. Multiple rollers direct the flexible mattress and belt. A motor supplies rotational force to one of the rollers and one of the rollers also provides for bending the flexible mattress to enter the chute, so that the end of the flexible mattress is guided underneath the pallet. A system includes the hospital bed with a detachable sanitary station. The sanitary station includes a toilet top and unites with the bed to deliver the patient to a position atop the toilet.
PORTABLE URINAL MOUNTING ASSEMBLY
A portable urinal mounting assembly selectively connectable to a walker having a pair of side support assemblies including upper and lower support braces. The mounting assembly comprises an body sleeve adapted to receive a portable urinal. Front left and right straps and rear left and right straps are attached to the body sleeve. Each of the front and rear left and right straps have an end portion including an attachment device. The end portions of the straps are arranged and designed to be removably secured to the upper and lower support braces of the pair of side support assemblies.
MALE URINE COLLECTION DEVICE USING WICKING MATERIAL
A urine collection device has a chamber assembly, which includes a layer of wicking material and porous material. The porous material is configured to form a chamber in which urine can be collected for transport; and the wicking material is disposed about the porous material. The chamber has a port for receiving a tube so that urine collected within the chamber can be transported from the chamber by being drawn from the chamber when a partial vacuum is applied within the chamber via the received tube. The chamber assembly is so dimensioned and configured that opposing portions of the assembly are sufficient adjacent as to define an opening through which the head a penis can be inserted. A layer of impermeable material is so attached to the chamber assembly as to cover one side of the opening and thereby provide a receptable for receiving the head of an inserted penis.
Specimen collection system for use with urinal
A urine collection method and apparatus, the apparatus including a storage container for holding urine; a first closeable opening in the storage container for allowing urine to enter and exit the storage container, the shape of the opening configured for contacting a patient to allow the patient to urinate into the storage container; a second opening for allowing fluid transfer from the interior of the storage container to the exterior of the storage container; vacuum a seal for the second opening, the seal maintaining the urine within the storage container being sealed until an analysis vial is connected to the urine collection apparatus, the connection of the analysis vial opening the seal to allow urine to leave the storage container when the analysis vial is connected.
