Hand-held urinal with stabilizing mechanism
The hand-held urinal with stabilizing mechanism is a hand-held collection device that comprises a medical urinal, weight bar, and a semi-rigid connector. The medical urinal is modified through the addition of the weight bar and the semi-rigid connector. The weight bar and the semi-rigid connector act as a counterbalance that adjusts the location of the first moment of the hand-held urinal with stabilizing mechanism relative to the first moment of just the medical urinal. The addition of the weight bar and the semi-rigid connector reduces the change in the first moment of the hand-held urinal with stabilizing mechanism that is caused by the addition of urine to the medical urinal during the use of the hand-held urinal with stabilizing mechanism. This makes the hand-held urinal with stabilizing mechanism easier to hold during the collection of urine.
EXCRETA DISPOSAL APPARATUS COMPRISING GENDER-SPECIFIC MODULE
An excreta disposal apparatus with a gender-specific module includes a body having a seating unit corresponding in shape to the curved shape of the genital area and buttocks of a human body, a urine disposal unit corresponding to the genital area of the human body, an excrement disposal unit corresponding to the buttocks of the human body and a disposal space open toward the genital area and buttocks of the human body to take excreta discharged from the human body. A main body unit, connected to the seating unit, is mounted between the legs of the human body and has an accommodation space therein. A discharge channel is provided in the accommodation space and communicates with the disposal space to discharge the excreta in the disposal space to the outside. The body includes the gender-specific module, which is detachably provided and includes the urine disposal unit.
Flexible spout improvement for a disposable urinal
A urinal includes a urinal body, a urine receiving reservoir and a spout extending therefrom for receiving urine. A supplemental urinal spout is provided and comprises both an inlet portion and a retention portion, the supplemental urinal spout being attachable to the spout of the urinal to form a leak prevention seal. Opposing tabs are provided to aid in attaching the spout to the urinal. The supplemental urinal spout comprises a funnel-shaped element that is integrally formed with a cylindrical sidewall. The urinal body is preferably made of a plastic material and the supplemental urinal spout is made from a low durometer elastomeric material. The urinal and the supplemental urinal spout may be disposable.
MALE URINE COLLECTION DEVICE USING WICKING MATERIAL
A urine collection device has a chamber assembly, which includes a layer of wicking material and porous material. The porous material is configured to form a chamber in which urine can be collected for transport; and the wicking material is disposed about the porous material. The chamber has a port for receiving a tube so that urine collected within the chamber can be transported from the chamber by being drawn from the chamber when a partial vacuum is applied within the chamber via the received tube. The chamber assembly is so dimensioned and configured that opposing portions of the assembly are sufficiently adjacent as to define an opening through which the head of a penis can be inserted. A layer of impermeable material is so attached to the chamber assembly as to cover one side of the opening and thereby provide a receptacle for receiving the head of an inserted penis.
EXCRETA DISPOSAL APPARATUS COMPRISING MALE MODULE
An excreta disposal apparatus includes a body comprising a seating unit correspondingly shaped to the curved shape of the genital area and buttocks of a human body, a urine disposal unit corresponding to the genital area, an excrement disposal unit corresponding to the buttocks, and a disposal space open toward the genital area and buttocks to receive excreta discharged from the human body. A main body unit, for mounting between the legs of the human body, is connected to the seating unit and has an accommodation space therein. A discharge channel is provided in the accommodation space and communicates with the disposal space to discharge the excreta in the disposal space to the outside. The body also includes a genital insertion unit, which has the urine disposal unit therein, formed to surround the circumference of at least a part of male genitalia.
Bellows Urinal
The present urinal's function is to assist a female relieve her bladder independently while in the supine, sitting or standing position by providing an angled opening for urine to collect in the container. The urinal is entirely made of a flexible nonporous waterproof material; allowing for reuse. Its structure is comprised of an expandable and retractable bellows mechanism to facilitate compact storage within a hospital dispensing cabinet or while in the user's possession. The opening is lined with a beveled outer seal. When the urinal's opening is placed over the female perineal area, it extends extra-labially from the anterior labial commissure to the perineal body. By providing an outer seal that is angled horizontally, toward the user, prevention of leakage results in the maintenance of hygiene. The containers shape is rectangular facilitating proper placement by providing a base when used in a horizontal/supine position. The handle is located on the superior portion of the neck, permitting the manipulation of the urinal by either the user or by assistive personnel.
Apparatus and methods for receiving discharged urine
A system suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person or animal may include an assembly having a fluid impermeable casing having a fluid reservoir at a first end, a fluid outlet at a second end, and a longitudinally extending fluid impermeable layer coupled to the fluid reservoir and the fluid outlet and defining a longitudinally elongated opening between the reservoir and the outlet. The assembly can further include a fluid permeable support disposed within the casing with a portion extending across the elongated opening, and a fluid permeable membrane disposed on the support and covering at least the portion of the support that extends across the elongated opening, so that the membrane is supported on the support and disposed across the elongated opening. The assembly can further include a tube having a first end disposed in the reservoir and a second, fluid discharge end.
Apparatus and Method for Storing Articles in a Healthcare Environment
A storage system for articles in a healthcare environment which includes a containment unit, a universal slide mount, and a fastener. The containment unit has a back wall with two protruding rails, and may be of any shape or size to hold articles commonly found in a healthcare environment. In one embodiment of the invention, the containment unit is shaped to hold a standard sized urinal. The universal slide mount has a front side with two slots which are capable of receiving the rails of the containment unit to reversibly attach the containment unit to the universal slide mount. The universal slide mount also has a back side with openings to attach the fastener to the universal slide mount. The fastener can be any known method to attach the universal slide mount to an environmental surface. In one embodiment of the invention, the fastener is a reversible zip tie.
