A system for positioning a patient before, during or after a medical procedure can include an arm assembly having a proximal end, an opposing distal end, and at least one joint therebetween. The joint can be configured to permit the distal end of the arm assembly to move with respect to the proximal end of the arm assembly. The proximal end of the arm assembly can be configured to be fixed with respect to a surgical table. The system can also include a ball joint mechanism attached to the distal end of the arm assembly and to a head support configured to support a patient's head. The ball joint mechanism can include a ball joint and a motor. Activation of the motor can permit or prevent movement of the ball joint.
POWER ASSISTED MOBILITY FOR SURGICAL TABLE
Certain aspects relate to systems and techniques for a mobile medical platform that includes a rigid base and one or more wheel assemblies coupled to a first side of the rigid base to support and move the rigid base in a physical environment. A respective wheel assembly of the one or more wheel assemblies includes a wheel, a first motor configured to steer the wheel, and a second motor configured to roll the wheel. The wheel is configured to respectively rotate around a first axis and a second axis that is different from the first axis. The first motor is positioned around a respective one of the first axis and the second axis, and the first axis is aligned with the second axis that results in a negligible caster angle of the wheel. A method of operating the mobile medical platform is also disclosed.
Adapter device for an operating table
An adapter device for detachably fastening instruments and equipment to a side rail of an operating table includes a clamping device by means of which the adapter device can be clamped to the side rail of the operating table, a longitudinal profile onto which the instruments and equipment can be detachably fastened, and a joint having at least one pivot axis formed between the clamping device and the longitudinal profile so that the longitudinal profile is pivotable relative to the clamping device about the pivot axis of the joint.
Fluid handling device and method
A device and method for handling fluids released during a procedure employs a floormat with opposing surfaces. The floormat is formed, at least in part, of compressible and resilient material. An absorbent sheet is attached to one of the opposing surfaces of the floormat. At least part of the absorbent sheet is stacked to extend peripherally beyond the floormat. The floormat and absorbent sheet are placed where a user is expected to stand during the procedure, and are stacked with at least part of the absorbent sheet extending beyond the floormat. A user stands atop the floormat and absorbent sheet during at least part of the procedure. During the procedure, fluids that fall onto the absorbent sheet are absorbed into it. The floormat and absorbent sheet are vacated and discarded before starting another procedure.
CONVECTIVE SYSTEM WITH FIXATION ELEMENT
At least some aspects of the present disclosure feature a tubular convective system including an inflatable tubular convective device and a fixation element. The inflatable tubular convective device includes a tubular structure. In some cases, the fixation element includes a first ring, where the first ring is configured to secure a first part of the tubular convective device. In some cases, the fixation element includes a flat element and a flexible element attached to the flat element proximate to a first end of the flexible element, where the flexible element is configured to secure a first part of the tubular convective device.

At least some aspects of the present disclosure feature a tubular convective device, comprising: a blown film forming a tube when inflated, the blown film having a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion and the second portion are separated longitudinally, and a plurality of apertures disposed on the first portion of the blown film. At least some aspects of the present disclosure feature a tubular convective system including a plurality of tubular convective devices, where adjacent tubular convective devices are connected.
GROSSING STATION SYSTEM
A grossing station comprising a table and an overhead hood connected to the table. The grossing station further comprising a plurality of interchangeable plates arranged in a trough of the table and a lift system connected to the table. The grossing station also comprises a touch screen controller arranged on a surface of the station, wherein the touch screen controller is in communication with at least one manual toggle switch for overriding an electronic control and monitoring system if a system failure occurs within the grossing station.

A robotic system can include a surgical instrument with a wrist including an elongate shaft extending between a proximal end and a distal end, a wrist extending from the distal end of the elongate shaft, and an end effector extending from the wrist. The end effector may include a first jaw and a second jaw, the first and second jaw being moveable between an open position in which ends of the jaws are separated from each other, and a closed position in which the ends of the jaws are closer to each other as compared to the open position.
