SELECTIVE ADSORPTION OF GASEOUS ALKENES INTO NON-POROUS COPPER(I) COMPLEXES: CONTROLLING HEAT OF ADSORPTION AND LOADING PRESSURE
Disclosed are air-stable small-molecule adsorbents trimeric [Cu—Br].sub.3 and [Cu—H].sub.3 that undergo a reversible solid-state molecular rearrangements to [Cu—Br.(alkene)].sub.2 and [Cu—H.(alkene)].sub.2 dimers. The reversible solid-state rearrangement allows one to break adsorbent design trade-offs and achieve low heat of adsorption while retaining high selectivity and uptake.
DEODORANT COMPOSITION SUITABLE FOR ALDEHYDE-BASED GAS OR KETONE-BASED GAS
A deodorant composition may be suitable for use with an aldehyde gas or a ketone gas, and may include an aminoguanidine salt and a metal chelating agent. The aminoguanidine salt is preferably at least one of an aminoguanidine hydrochloride and an aminoguanidine sulfate. The chelating agent is preferably at least one of an inorganic phosphoric acid and salt thereof, and a carboxylic acid and salt thereof.
MAGNESIUM OXIDE SORBENTS FOR ROOM TEMPERATURE CARBON DIOXIDE ADSORPTION AND METHODS FOR THEIR FABRICATION
Methods for fabrication of and use of magnesium oxide sorbents for room temperature carbon dioxide adsorption are provided. In accordance with one aspect, a method for fabrication of sorbents is provided which includes using calcination to obtain MgO—Mg(OH).sub.2 nano-composites and aging the MgO—Mg(OH).sub.2 nano-composites to form nano MCHs for room temperature carbon dioxide adsorption. According to another aspect, a method for fabrication of sorbents which includes fabrication of monoclinic magnesium malate tetrahydrate (C.sub.8H.sub.10MgO.sub.10.4H.sub.2O) and use of such sorbents for room temperature carbon dioxide adsorption is provided.
Lime hydrate with improved reactivity via additives
Systems and Methods to produce a lime hydrate sorbent composition formed of highly reactive lime hydrate (HRH) by adding compounds to the slaking water in a method that would produce a non-HRH, which will typically be a lime hydrate having citric acid reactivity as discussed above of more than ten seconds, to make the non-HRH an HRH, which is having a citric acid reactivity of less than or equal to ten seconds.
Cesium adsorbent and method of preparing the same
Provided herein is a cesium adsorbent including: a support modified to have a carboxyl group on a surface thereof; and Prussian blue synthesized on the surface of the modified support, wherein the Prussian blue is at least partially chemically bound with the surface of the support. The cesium adsorbent may effectively adsorb cesium, which is a radioactive element released into the water and may be easily prepared using a simple solution process.
