APPARATUS FOR REMOVING CHEMOTHERAPY COMPOUNDS FROM BLOOD
A filter apparatus for removing small molecule chemotherapy agents from blood is provided. The filter apparatus comprises a housing with an extraction media comprised of polymer coated carbon cores. Also provided are methods of treating a subject with cancer of an organ or region comprising administering a chemotherapeutic agent to the organ or region, collecting blood laded with chemotherapeutic agent from the isolated organ, filtering the blood laden with chemotherapeutic agent to reduce the chemotherapeutic agent in the blood and returning the blood to the subject.
GRAFTED CROSSLINKED CELLULOSE
Grafted, crosslinked cellulosic materials include cellulose fibers and polymer chains composed of at least one monoethylenically unsaturated acid group-containing monomer (such as acrylic acid) grafted thereto, in which one or more of said cellulose fibers and said polymer chains are crosslinked (such as by intra-fiber chain-to-chain crosslinks). Some of such materials are characterized by a wet bulk of about 10.0-17.0 cm3/g, an IPRP value of about 1000 to 7700 cm2/MPa.Math.sec, and/or a MAP value of about 7.0 to 38 cm H2O. Methods for producing such materials may include grafting polymer chains from a cellulosic substrate, followed by treating the grafted material with a crosslinking agent adapted to effect crosslinking of one or more of the cellulosic substrate or the polymer chains. Example crosslinking mechanisms include esterfication reactions, ionic reactions, and radical reactions, and example crosslinking agents include pentaerythritol, homopolymers of the graft species monomer, and hyperbranched polymers.
COATING COMPOSTITIONS AND METHODS FOR USING THE SAME
Coating compositions and methods for using the same are disclosed. The coating compositions can include an aminosilica adsorbent. The coating compositions can adsorb CO.sub.2.
Pelletized Compositions for Liquid Solidification and Moisture Retention and Methods of Making and Using the Same
A method of using a pelletized composition for liquid solidification and moisture retention includes the steps of: Providing a pelletized absorption material having i) at least 60% by weight agricultural fibers; and ii) 0.1-20% by weight superabsorbent polymer, wherein the pellets are substantially uniform and have a density of less than 40 LBS/Cubic Foot; and Blending the pelletized absorption material with one of i) Sludge, ii) Landfill leachate; iii) material used in hydroseeding; iv) grass seeds, fertilizer, and/or mulch to form a soil amendment; v) settling pond; and vi) wastewater streams.
Absorbent aliphatic polyurethane foam product
The present invention relates to foam. In particular, the present invention relates to profiled foams and processes for profiling absorbent foam products. More particularly, the present invention relates to processes for producing a profiled absorbent polyurethane foam product, comprising the steps of foaming, curing, profiling and drying, wherein profiling occurs before drying; and absorbent aliphatic polyurethane foam products having at least one profiled surface.
Sorbent Materials and Water Harvesting Devices Including the Same
Sorbent materials comprising a nanofiber composite including a polymeric material defining a continuous phase and at least one metal organic framework (MOF) material defining a discontinuous phase are provided. The at least one MOF material is dispersed throughout the continuous phase of the polymeric material. Fibrous mats comprising the sorbent materials are also provided. Water harvesting devices utilizing the sorbent materials are also provided.
Packaging materials
The use of a palladium-doped zeolite for the adsorption of volatile organic compounds is described wherein the zeolite has a CHA framework type and is polymer-bound. Such zeolites have been found to have particular utility as packaging materials for the adsorption of volatile organic compounds, such as those originating from organic matter.
SUBSTRATE PROCESSING APPARATUS, RAW MATERIAL CARTRIDGE, SUBSTRATE PROCESSING METHOD, AND RAW MATERIAL CARTRIDGE MANUFACTURING METHOD
A substrate processing apparatus includes: a chamber; and a processing gas supply unit connected to the chamber via a processing gas supply flow path and configured to supply a processing gas. The processing gas supply unit includes a raw material cartridge that includes a raw material tank that accommodates a porous member containing a metal-organic framework adsorbed with gas molecules of a raw material of the processing gas; a main body configured to communicate the raw material tank and the processing gas supply flow path with each other when the raw material cartridge is attached; and a desorption mechanism configured to desorb the gas molecules of the raw material of the processing gas and allow the gas molecules to flow out as the processing gas to the processing gas supply flow path while the raw material cartridge is attached to the main body.
AIR FILTER MEDIA
Air filter media comprising at least one active bead layer comprises an antistatic agent and polyethylenimine coated polymeric beads that can provide better formaldehyde abatement properties than incumbent activated carbon filters and can be prepared by using existing processing facilities for manufacture of incumbent activated carbon filters.
COMPOSITES FOR CHEMICAL SEQUESTRATION DECONTAMINATION
Materials for decontamination of compounds having a phosphorous-sulfur bond or a phosphorous-oxygen bond. A porous polymer, such as poly(dicyclopentadiene), contains particles of zirconium hydroxide. The polymer optionally has hydroperoxide groups.
