POSITIVE ELECTRODE FOR RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY AND RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM BATTERY INCLUDING SAME
A positive electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same. The positive electrode may include a current collector and a positive active material layer on the current collector, wherein the positive active material layer may include a positive active material and a Fe-containing oxide, and the Fe-containing oxide is included in an amount of about 0.015 parts by weight to about 8.5 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the positive active material.
Carrier for blood component adsorption and blood component adsorption column
A carrier for blood component adsorption includes a water-insoluble carrier composed of a fiber or particle, the water-insoluble carrier having a surface to which a functional group(s) is/are introduced, the functional group(s) containing an acidic functional group selected from the group consisting of the sulfate group, sulfite group and sulfonate group; and containing an amino group; the fiber having a fiber diameter of, or the particle having a particle diameter of, 0.5 to 20 μm.
Adsorbent for hydrocarbon recovery
Disclosed in certain embodiments are sorbents for capturing heavy hydrocarbons via thermal swing adsorption processes.
Surface-reacted calcium carbonate and its use in waste water treatment
The present invention relates to a process for the purification of water, wherein a surface-reacted natural calcium carbonate is brought into contact with the water to be purified, the surface-reacted natural calcium carbonate being the reaction product of a natural calcium carbonate with an acid and carbon dioxide, which is formed in situ by the acid treatment and/or supplied externally.
ZEOLITE ADSORBENTS WITH LOW BINDER CONTENT AND LARGE EXTERNAL SURFACE AREA, METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF SAME AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to a zeolite absorbent comprising at least one FAU zeolite with hierarchical porosity and comprising barium or barium and potassium, and the external surface area of which is greater than 20 m.sup.2.Math.g.sup.−1, and the non-zeolite phase content being between 6% and 12% by weight with respect to the total weight of the absorbent. The present invention also relates to the use of such a zeolite absorbent as an adsorption agent, as well as the method for separation of para-xylene from aromatic isomer fractions with 8 carbon atoms.
Metal organic frameworks for the capture of volatile organic compounds
The use of porous crystalline solids constituted of a metal-organic framework (MOF) for the capture of polar volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In particular, the MOF of interest are material having an average pores sizes of 0.4 to 0.6 nm and an hydrophobic core formed by a metal oxide and/or hydroxide network connected by linkers, the linkers being selected from the group including (i) C.sub.6-C.sub.24 aromatic polycarboxylate linkers, such as benzyl or naphtyl di-, tri- or tetracarboxylate, and (ii) C.sub.6-C.sub.16 polycarboxylate aliphatic linkers; the linkers bearing or not apolar fluorinated groups, e.g. —(CF.sub.2)n—CF.sub.3 groups, n being a integer from 0 to 5, preferably 0 ou 3, and/or apolar C.sub.1-C.sub.20 preferably C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl groups, e.g. —CH.sub.3 or —CH.sub.2—CH.sub.3, grafted directly to the linkers and pointing within the pores of the MOF. The MOF solids used in the present invention can be used for the purification of air, for example for the capture of polar VOCs like acetic acid and aldehydes from indoor air in cars, museums and archives, much more efficiently than common adsorbents, particularly in presence of above normal levels of humidity. They can in particular be used for the preservation of cultural heritage.
HYDRAULICALLY SET CEMENT BODY FOR PRESERVATION OF ORGANIC LIQUIDS
A method is provided for preserving cooking oil in a food fryer which comprises contacting the oil in situ with at least one oil-permeable cement body which is a stand-alone block and which has been hydraulically hardened from a paste comprising (i) white OPC clinker, (ii) white OPC or (iii) a mixture of white OPC clinker and white OPC, wherein the porosity of the cement body, estimable from the difference between its water-saturated and dry weights, is 30-55%, pores in the body being oil receptive by virtue of low un-bound water content.
Metal-Organic Frameworks Having Localized Defects for Gas Separations
Provided herein are adsorption materials comprising a metal-organic framework comprising metal ions of metals, a plurality of organic linkers and one or more modulator where each modulator forms a localized defect. Each organic linker in the plurality of organic linkers creates a bridge between metal ions. Each modulator is connected to only one metal chain. The adsorption material further comprises one or more ligands. Each ligand in the plurality of ligands can be an amine or other Lewis base (electron donor) appended to a metal ion of the metal-organic framework.
ADSORBENT FOR HYDROCARBON RECOVERY
Disclosed in certain embodiments are sorbents for capturing heavy hydrocarbons via thermal swing adsorption processes.
CHARGE-BEARING CYCLODEXTRIN POLYMERIC MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
The present disclosure relates to charge-bearing polymeric materials and methods of their use for purifying fluid samples from micropollutants, such as anionic micropollutants.
