A MIXED-METAL STRATEGY FOR THE FAST SYNTHESIS OF METAL-ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS UNDER AMBIENT CONDITIONS
Disclosed herein is a metal organic framework (MOF) having a UTSA-16 structure, where the composition comprises: from 0 to 80 mol % of the total metal in the MOF is a first metal selected from one or more of the group consisting of Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, and Co; and from 20 to 100 mol % of the total metal in the MOF is a second metal selected from one or more of the group consisting of Cd, Mn, and Zn.
Production of Nanoparticulate Titanium Dioxide
The invention relates to a method for obtaining nanoparticulate titanium dioxide in agglomerate form from a hydrolyzed acidic titanyl compound, the thus obtained titanium dioxide as well as the use thereof as a photocatalyst, process catalyst or adsorbent, especially in aqueous systems.
PREPARATION METHOD OF SUPER ABSORBENT POLYMER
The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of a super absorbent polymer. The manufacturing method of a super absorbent polymer according to the present invention may include: carrying out a thermal polymerization or a photopolymerization of a monomer composition including a water-soluble ethylene-based unsaturated monomer and a polymerization initiator to form a hydrogel polymer; drying the hydrogel polymer; pulverizing the dried polymer; classifying the pulverized polymer into a fine powder having a particle diameter of less than 150 μm and a polymer having a particle diameter of 150 to 850 μm according to the particle diameter; performing reassembly by mixing and wetting the fine powder with 5 to 30° C. water in a content of 50 to 200 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the fine powder having a particle size of 150 μm or less, to form a fine powder reassembly; and mixing the polymer having a particle diameter of 150 to 850 μm with the fine powder reassembly, followed by surface cross-linking, and may obtain a super absorbent polymer having a high fine aggregation strength.
NOx ADSORBER CATALYST
A NO.sub.x adsorber catalyst and its use in an emission treatment system for internal combustion engines, is disclosed. The NO.sub.x adsorber catalyst comprises a first layer consisting essentially of a support material, one or more platinum group metals disposed on the support material, and a NO.sub.x storage material.
MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR CARBON DIOXIDE FIXATION
[Problem] To provide a new way for fixing carbon dioxide under mild conditions and with high efficiency.
[Solution] The material for carbon dioxide fixation according to the present invention contains a metal ion donor and an amine as a precursor of a bridging ligand. The amine is configured to react with a gaseous carbon dioxide to form the bridging ligand having at least one carbamate anion moiety. The bridging ligand is configured to react with the metal ion donor to form a coordination polymer in which a plurality of the metal ions is linked by the bridging ligand.
HEAVY METAL ADSORBENT AND METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS REMOVAL OF LEAD AND COPPER IN WASTEWATER USING THE SAME
The present inventive concept relates to a heavy metal adsorbent, and more particularly, to an eco-friendly adsorbent including a biopolymer and being capable of simultaneously adsorbing and recovering lead and copper, and a method of preparing the same. According to the present inventive concept, since the present adsorbent exhibits a property of being insoluble in water due to the ester bond through the esterification reaction between xanthan gum which is one of the biopolymers, and citric acid, it solves the problem that recovery was impossible due to the water solubility of existing biopolymers; lead and copper can be effectively adsorbed and recovered in an aqueous solution; and the biopolymer and citric acid used in the adsorbent are bio-derived and biodegradable and therefore have eco-friendly advantages over existing adsorbents.
MAGNETIC TITANIUM-BASED LITHIUM ADSORBENT AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
In order to resolve the problem that a magnetic lithium adsorbent in the related art is difficult to be used for lithium extraction from strong-alkaline and carbonate-type brines, a magnetic titanium-based lithium adsorbent is provided, which includes a magnetic composite and a lithium adsorption layer. The lithium adsorption layer is disposed at an outer surface of the magnetic composite. The magnetic composite includes a magnetic material and a titanium oxide. The lithium adsorption layer includes a lithium titanium oxide.
Method for producing functionally improved carbolime
A method is provided for producing functionally improved carbolime from carbolime and the use of the functionally improved carbolime as a filtering aid, as filler, as lime fertilizer or as adsorbent for the adsorption of dyes.
FOAM COMPOSITIONS FOR SELECTIVE RECOVERY OF OIL SPILLS AND OTHER APPLICATIONS
A polymer composition for use in the removal and recovery of oil slicks or spills floating on the surfaces of bodies or water or present on land, such as beaches comprising a foam of a blend of polyethylene and an ethylene-alkyl acrylate copolymer and a process for using such foams in the selective removal of oil from fresh water or salt water and the recovery of the absorbed oils from the foams is disclosed. The polymer composition is also for use in other applications in which absorption of liquids is desired.
Water stable copper paddlewheel metal organic framework (MOF) compositions and processes using the MOFs
This invention relates to a Cu-BTC MOF which is water stable. The Cu-BTC MOF has been modified by substituting some of the BTC ligand (1,3,5, benzene tricarboxylic acid) with 5-aminoisophthalic acid (AIA). The resultant MOF retains at least 40% of its as synthesized surface area after exposure to liquid water at 60° C. for 6 hours. This is an unexpected result versus the MOF containing only the BTC ligand. This MOF can be used to abate contaminants such as ammonia in gas streams and especially air streams.
