CATALYSTS FOR PETROCHEMICAL CATALYSIS
Metal oxide catalysts comprising various dopants are provided. The catalysts are useful as heterogenous catalysts in a variety of catalytic reactions, for example, the oxidative coupling of methane to C2 hydrocarbons such as ethane and ethylene. Related methods for use and manufacture of the same are also disclosed.
Catalyst manufacturing method
A method for producing a catalyst or catalyst precursor is described including: applying a slurry of a particulate catalyst compound in a carrier fluid to an additive layer manufactured support structure to form a slurry-impregnated support, and drying and optionally calcining the slurry-impregnated support to form a catalyst or catalyst precursor. The mean particle size (D50) of the particulate catalyst compound in the slurry is in the range 1-50 m and the support structure has a porosity 0.02 ml/g.

Butadiene preparation method providing excellent catalyst reproducibility
A method of preparing butadiene that includes supplying butene, oxygen, nitrogen, and steam into a reactor filled with a metal oxide catalyst, and performing an oxidative dehydrogenation reaction at a temperature of 300 to 450 C. as a reaction step; after the reaction step, maintaining supplying the butene, oxygen, nitrogen, and steam within a range within which the flow rate change of the butene, oxygen, nitrogen, and steam is less than 40%, or stopping supplying the butene, and cooling the reactor to a temperature range of 200 C. or lower and higher than 70 C. as a first cooling step; and after the first cooling step, stopping supplying the butene, oxygen, nitrogen, and steam or stopping at least supplying the butene, and cooling the reactor to a temperature of 70 C. or lower as a second cooling step.

A novel catalyst composition and its use in the dehydrogenation of alkanes to olefins. The catalyst comprises a Group VIII noble metal selected from the group consisting of nickel, iron, cobalt, and combinations thereof, and a metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, indium, phosphorous, zinc, and combinations thereof, on a support. The catalyst composition is an active and selective catalyst for the catalytic dehydrogenation of alkanes to olefins.

Sinter-resistant catalyst systems
Sinter-resistant catalyst systems include a catalytic substrate comprising a plurality of metal catalytic nanoparticles bound to a metal oxide catalyst support, and a coating of oxide nanoparticles disposed on the metal catalytic nanoparticles and optionally on the metal oxide support. The oxide nanoparticles comprise one or more lanthanum oxides and optionally one or more barium oxides, and additionally one or more oxides of aluminum, cerium, zirconium, titanium, silicon, magnesium, zinc, iron, strontium, and calcium. The metal catalytic nanoparticles can include ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, and platinum, rhenium, copper, silver, and/or gold. The metal oxide catalyst support can include one or more metal oxides selected from the group consisting of Al.sub.2O.sub.3, CeO.sub.2, ZrO.sub.2, TiO.sub.2, SiO.sub.2, La.sub.2O.sub.3, MgO, and ZnO. The coating of oxide nanoparticles is about 0.1% to about 50% lanthanum and barium oxides. The oxide nanoparticles can further include one or more oxides of magnesium and/or cobalt.
