Imaging table-to-head frame adapter

An adapter to be used to position and restrain a patient's head movement during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) imaging, positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, X-ray imaging or other imaging or medical procedures. The adapter has a high degree of adjustability and modularity. The adapter can be fitted to a patient quickly and comfortably by offering translational, rotational and height adjustment during the fitting procedure, thereby reducing the overall time for the MRI. The adapter includes a base, one or more attachment members to selectively affix the base to an imaging table, a pair of upwardly extending spaced-apart supports attached to the base, a stabilizer frame rotatably attached to the pair of supports, and a locking mechanism to selectively prevent rotation of the frame attached to the pair of supports.

Patient securing overlay for underbody supports

Apparatus and methods related to an underbody support for supporting a body of a being, such as during surgery to prevent contact pressure injuries. In certain embodiments, the underbody support may include one or more inflatable chambers enclosing a volume. At least one of the inflatable chambers may include one or more compression sensitive switches for monitoring the volume of the inflatable chamber, and the one or more compression sensitive switches may be located within the inflatable chamber. In some embodiments the one or more compression sensitive switches are sized to close when the said inflatable chamber is deflated to a desired residual volume.

A device for supporting a patient's arm includes a rail clamp configured to be secured to a rail or other structure on a table such as an operating table. The rail clamp includes a clamp body and a socket configured to receive a base on an attachment such as a lateral brace. The base may be inserted longitudinally in the longitudinal socket on the rail clamp. The base may comprise an arm brace. The base is moveable in the longitudinal socket such that the arm brace may be raised or lowered relative to the rail clamp. The arm brace may be used when a patient is lying prone or laterally on a table.

Apparatus to secure field generating device to chair

An apparatus includes a body, an upright member, a frame, and a plurality of field generating elements. The body is configured to be positioned between a patient's back and a backrest of a chair. The upright member extends upwardly from the body. The frame has a curved configuration configured to partially surround a patient's head. The field generating elements are configured to generate an electromagnetic field around a patient's head partially surrounded by the frame.

An imaging apparatus includes a patient table with a gurney and a base. The gurney can slide between two extreme positions, an electrically supplied motoreducer controlled by a control unit causing the table to slide and having a lock/unlock system of the sliding that is mechanical, independent from the electrical supply, and manually controlled by a grabbing organ actuated by a human operator. The patient table may be provided together with a gantry having a housing transparent to light for at least part of its extension, and a control unit of the radiographic apparatus. The housing or a part thereof is associated with a source of light, and the control unit, when the apparatus is electrically supplied, and/or other status conditions are determined by a status sensor, causes the light source to be illuminated and the housing to light up in its translucent parts signalling the status condition.

INSTRUMENT IMAGE RELIABILITY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20210059765 · 2021-03-04 ·

Described herein are systems and methods related to image management. A system may include an instrument that includes an elongate body and an imaging device. The elongate body can be configured to be inserted into a luminal network. The imaging device may be positioned at a distal tip of the elongate body. The system may receive from the imaging device one or more images captured when the elongate body is within the luminal network. For each of the images, the system may determine one or more metrics that are indicative of a reliability of an image for localization of the distal tip of the elongate body within the luminal network. The system may determine a reliability threshold value for each of the one or more metrics. The system can utilize the one or more images based on whether the one or more metrics meet corresponding reliability threshold values.

Navigation of an instrument within a luminal network can include image-based branch detection and mapping. Image-based branch detection can include identifying within an image one or more openings associated with one or more branches of a luminal network. Image-based branch mapping can include mapping the detected one or more openings to corresponding branches of the luminal network. Mapping may include comparing features of the openings to features of a set of expected openings. A position state estimate for the instrument can be determined from the mapped openings, which can facilitate navigation of the luminal network.

Provided are systems and methods for location sensor-based branch prediction. In one aspect, the method includes determining a first orientation of an instrument based on first location data generated by a set of one or more location sensors for the instrument and determining a second orientation of the instrument at a second time based on second location data. A distal end of the instrument is located within a first segment of a model at the first time and the second time and the first segment branches into two or more child segments. The method also includes determining data indicative of a difference between the first orientation and the second orientation and determining a prediction that the instrument will advance into a first one of the child segments based on the data indicative of the difference.

SURGICAL ROBOTICS SYSTEMS WITH IMPROVED ROBOTIC ARMS

A robotic surgical system can include one or more adjustable arm supports that support one or more robotic arms. The adjustable arm supports and/or robotic arms can be configured to be deployed from low mount positions, for example, from positions below the surface of the table. The robotic arms can include a plurality of joints providing a plurality of degrees of freedom. The joints may be grouped into a proximal shoulder, an elbow, and a distal wrist. The robotic arms can include one or more redundant degrees of freedom. An insertion mechanism, associated with the robotic arm and configured for providing insertion of an instrument along an assertion axis, can be provided at a distal end of the robotic arms.
