Table system for medical imaging
A table system for use with an imaging device includes a base portion that supports the table system over a support surface, a patient support including a platform for supporting a patient in a standing position and a bed for supporting the patient in a lying position, a linkage portion coupled between the base portion and the patient support that is pivotable with respect to both the base portion and the patient support, a first drive mechanism that drives the pivoting of the patient support with respect to the linkage portion, and a second drive mechanism that drives the pivoting of the linkage portion with respect to the base portion, the first and second drive mechanisms moving the patient support between a vertical position in which the platform is substantially parallel to the support surface and a horizontal position in which the bed is substantially parallel to the support surface.
Reconfigurable surgical frame and method for use
A surgical frame and method for use thereof is provided. The surgical frame is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame includes a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon. The main beam is capable of be reconfigured between a left configuration and a right configuration to support the patient in different positions thereon.
Patient support systems and methods for docking, transporting, sterilizing, and storing patient support decks
Patient support systems and methods for docking, transporting, sterilizing, and storing patient support decks. The patient support system comprises patient support decks that are configured to carry patients, such as in emergency situations or in a healthcare facility. The patient support decks are adapted to be engaged by docking stations and transport devices. Different configurations of docking stations and transport devices are contemplated. Sterilization apparatuses are provided to sterilize the patient support decks after use and storage facilities store the patient support decks for later use once they are sterilized.
Lift for extremity surgical positioning device
The present inventive subject matter describes a device and system for positioning, adjusting, and stretching a patient's extremity for surgical procedures where alignment is critical and minute adjustments may be required repeatedly. The device helps in maintaining the patient's extremity stationary, once the physician has selected the precise position for the elected procedure. The device uses using a combination of an articulating and a rotating frame, support plates and support rings that are attached to the extremity surgical positioning system. The system acts as a limb splint that is firmly attached to the surgical table. The support plates are attached to the patient via a series of adjustable straps preventing the extremity from moving independently of the support plate. A locking rack and gear configuration has adjustable locking pivot points that are positioned along and within the outer/inner proximal tube and outer/inner distal tube that lengthens or rotates various portions of the extremity.
Surgical frame having translating lower beam and moveable linkage or surgical equipment attached thereto and method for use thereof
A surgical frame and method for use thereof is provided. The surgical frame is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery using a moveable main beam supporting a patient thereon. The surgical frame includes a translating lower beam that is moveable between at least a first lateral position and a second lateral position, and a linkage and/or surgical equipment supportively and moveably attached to the translating lower beam or interconnected with the translating lower beam via the linkage. The linkage and/or the surgical equipment are moveable between a first position at or adjacent a first end of the translating lower beam and a second position closer to a second end of the translating lower beam than the first position. The translating lower beam is used to join a first support portion and a second support portion of the surgical frame to one another, and movement of the translating lower beam affords access to a patient receiving area. A linear movement mechanism can be used to facilitate movement of the linkage and/or the surgical equipment along the translating lower beam to avoid interference with the main beam or the translating lower beam.
Surgical robotics systems with improved robotic arms
A robotic surgical system can include one or more adjustable arm supports that support one or more robotic arms. The adjustable arm supports and/or robotic arms can be configured to be deployed from low mount positions, for example, from positions below the surface of the table. The robotic arms can include a plurality of joints providing a plurality of degrees of freedom. The joints may be grouped into a proximal shoulder, an elbow, and a distal wrist. The robotic arms can include one or more redundant degrees of freedom. An insertion mechanism, associated with the robotic arm and configured for providing insertion of an instrument along an assertion axis, can be provided at a distal end of the robotic arms.
Dynamic patient positioning system
A system includes a first radiation source configured to provide therapeutic radiation in a treatment area and an automated patient transport configured to transport a patient from a preparation area to the treatment area, to position a treatment volume in the patient relative to the therapeutic radiation from the first radiation source, and to support the patient in receiving the therapeutic radiation. The automated patient transport comprises a first detector configured to detect a first patient positioning indicator located in and/or on the patient indicative of a position of the treatment volume.
MRI-Compatible Patient Support System
An MRI-compatible system for supporting a patient during a medical procedure includes a frame, first and second platforms, a cooling device support, a therapeutic-applicator-positioning-system support, and a pair of leg rests. The first platform is configured to support the patient. The second platform is disposed between the foot end of the frame and the first platform. The cooling device support and the therapeutic-applicator-positioning-system support are mounted on the second platform. The cooling device support positions and releasably secures a cooling device. The therapeutic-applicator-positioning-system support releasably secures a therapeutic applicator positioning system. Each leg rest includes a leg support and a foot support. The leg rests are disposed on the frame and are configured to be slidably positioned towards the head end or towards the foot end of the frame.
Medical Imaging Compatible Radiolucent Surgical Device Pneumatic Lift
A one or more radiolucent pneumatic bags that are inflated and deflated to move a surgical device, such as a surgical table or surgical robot.
COMBINED PATIENT MEDICAL TRANSFER AND X-RAY APPARATUS
A medical transfer system or apparatus including a patient transfer member including a lower support structure and a comb-like toothed sine wave apparatus for moving the transfer member and patient between a patient transporter table and a patient x-ray examining surface, each formed of a radiolucent material, wherein the toothed member is removed and the patient remains on the transport support during an x-ray procedure. The support structure in one embodiment defines a continuous sine wave, the toothed member including a series of transfer beams that fit into spaces formed in the support structure below the transfer member, and each transfer beam including a series of wheels that are actuated to move down and up whereby to lift or lower the patient transfer member.
