The reforming unit includes a casing defining a receiving space and having gas intake and outlet ports, a plurality of reformers disposed in the receiving space, at least one gas pipe winding around one of the reformers, and a connecting pipe in fluidic communication with the gas pipe. The feed unit is in fluidic communication with the reformers and the connecting pipe such that air delivered from the gas intake port through the gas pipe and the connecting pipe is mixed with a fuel in the feed unit to form a reactant mixture to be fed to the reformers for hydrogen production. The heating unit includes a heater connected to the casing.
APPARATUS FOR GENERATING A GAS
Useful apparatus for generating a gas, comprising an enclosure defining an internal space for containing a liquid capable of generating the gas by coming into contact with a catalyst, a catalytic system comprising first and second parts that together define a catalysis chamber for containing the catalyst and that are movable relative to each other between a closed position, in which the catalysis chamber is isolated from the internal space, and an open position, in which the catalysis chamber is in fluid communication with the internal space, so that, when the liquid and the catalyst are respectively contained in the internal space and in the catalysis chamber, in the open position, the liquid enters the catalysis chamber and the gas is generated by bringing the liquid into contact with the catalyst, an actuator connected to the catalytic system and configured to place the catalytic system in the open position and/or in the closed position, and a command unit for commanding the actuator.
A METHOD OF OPERATING A SLURRY BUBBLE COLUMN REACTOR
A method for starting a slurry bubble column reactor that includes a reactor vessel holding a settled or slumped bed of particles and a liquid phase from which the particles have settled includes introducing a flow of a re-suspension liquid into the settled or slumped bed to loosen the settled or slumped bed. The introduction of the re-suspension liquid takes place before the introduction of any gas into the settled or slumped bed, or together with feeding of gas into the settled or slumped bed, provided that, if gas is fed together with the re-suspension liquid into the settled or slumped bed before the settled or slumped bed has been loosened, the gas has a superficial gas velocity in the reactor below 10 cm/s. Once the settled or slumped bed has been loosened by at least the re-suspension liquid, gas is passed at a superficial gas velocity above 10 cm/s through the liquid phase.
HYDROGEN PRODUCING APPARATUS
A hydrogen producing apparatus includes a reforming unit, a feed unit, and a heating unit.
PREHEATING PROCESS AND START-UP PROCESS FOR THE AMMOXIDATION REACTION
The present invention relates to a preheating process and a start-up process for the ammoxidation reaction. The preheating process or the start-up process at least includes the step of heating the catalyst bed in the ammoxidation reactor while controlling the reactor operation linear speed to 0.03-0.15 m/s. The start-up process of the present invention has the advantages such as the significantly reduced launch time compared with the prior art and the operation safety.
REACTOR LAYOUT FOR METHANOL PRODUCTION FROM LOW QUALITY SYNTHESIS GAS
A reactor layout for a process of methanol production from low quality synthesis gas, in which relatively smaller adiabatic reactors can be operated more efficiently, some of the inherent disadvantages of adiabatic reactors for methanol production are avoided. This is done by controlling the outlet temperature in the pre-converter by rapid adjustment of the recycle gas, i.e. by manipulating the gas hourly space velocity in the pre-converter.
Loading a catalyst into a bubble column for Fischer-Topsch synthesis
A method for charging a catalyst into a reactor (40) comprising a separation loop (21), comprising the following steps: a) filling the reactor (40) with a solvent S1; b) filling the separation loop (21) with said solvent S1; c) causing said solvent S1 to move in the synthesis reactor (40) and the separation loop (21); d) heating the reactor (40) to a temperature of 100 C. or less; e) injecting an inert gas into the bottom of the reactor (40); f) mixing said catalyst with a solvent S2 in a vessel (30) in order to obtain a liquid/solid mixture; g) increasing the pressure in the vessel (30) then sending the liquid/solid mixture to the reactor (40); h) withdrawing said solvent S1 and/or S2.
Process for methanol production from low quality synthesis gas
In a novel process for methanol production from low quality synthesis gas, in which relatively smaller adiabatic reactors can be operated more efficiently, some of the inherent disadvantages of adiabatic reactors for methanol production are avoided. This is done by controlling the outlet temperature in the pre-converter by rapid adjustment of the recycle gas, i.e. by manipulating the gas hourly space velocity in the pre-converter.
Methods for producing chemical products with operation interruptions
This invention relates to methods for producing chemical products, wherein the one or more feed materials are reacted to form a chemical product or a chemical composition. The invention further relates to plants for performing such methods, said plants being designed in such a way that, during an interruption of the methods, no input of at least one feed material into the reaction occurs and the plant parts not affected by a revision measure, maintenance measure, repair measure, or cleaning measure are operated in so-called re-circulation mode. It is thereby achieved, among other things, that only the affected plant part needs to be shut down for the time of the measure, which can be advantageous with regard to the productivity and economy of the method and the quality of the produced products. Finally, the invention relates to methods for operating plants in the event that individual plant parts are taken out of service.
Process for start-up of a multizone circulating reactor
A process for starting a multizone circulating reactor containing no polyolefin particles, comprising the steps of conveying gas through the reactor and the gas recycle line, feeding a particulate material comprising a polymerization catalyst and optionally polyolefin into the reactor, controlling the gas flow in a vertical reactor zone equipped with a throttling valve at the bottom so that the upwards gas velocity in the bottom part of this reaction zone is lower than the terminal free-fall velocity of the particulate material fed into the reactor, and, after the weight of the particulate polyolefin in this reactor zone is higher than the drag force of the upward moving gas, controlling the circulation rate of the polymer particles within the multizone circulating reactor by adjusting the opening of the throttling valve and adjusting the flow rate of a dosing gas.
