Ammonia converter comprising a tubular inner wall
A vertical ammonia converter with radial flow catalyst beds includes a recipient having an outer shell equipped with a dual duct inner tubular wall to route effluents in upward and downward directions, the tubular wall made of vertical tubes with gastight walls arranged in a circle on an outer periphery of an inner wall of the shell, open at their ends to route effluent to be treated in the upward direction from an injection chamber in a lower part of the shell to a distribution chamber in an upper part of the shell, which tubes are contiguous to a filtering media over a height of a catalyst bed, the filtering media open at an upper end to pass a downward-flowing effluent and closed at a lower end to route and distribute the effluent through their effluent-permeable face towards the catalyst bed retained on an outer face by the filtering media.

A reactor system for thermally treating a hydrocarbon-containing stream includes a pressure containment vessel having an interior chamber defined by a first end, a second end, and at least one sidewall extending from the first end to the second end. A heat transfer medium converts electrical current to heat is positioned within the interior chamber of the pressure containment vessel, and the heat transfer medium has a first end face, a second end face, and channels extending between the first end face and the second end face. A heat sink reservoir includes molten salt, and at least one of a heater or heat exchanger is fluidly coupled to the heat transfer medium and thermally coupled to the heat sink reservoir.
Hydrogen production system and methods of producing the same
Hydrogen production systems and methods of producing the same are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a hydrogen production system comprises a reformer reactor that comprises a reformer reactor wall. A plurality of reformer tubes are interconnected to define a reformer lattice that has a reformer inner flow path and a reformer outer flow path. The plurality of reformer tubes are within the reformer reactor and connected to the reformer reactor wall at a plurality of discrete locations. The reformer lattice defines a combustor side that is one of the reformer inner or outer flow paths, and a reformer side that is the other of the reformer inner or outer flow paths. A reformer catalyst is positioned within the reformer side.

Chemical reactor for use with overly reactive chemicals
A chemical reactor for use in a chemical process wherein a reactant and/or a target product is prone to produce undesirable byproducts through secondary reactions. The reactor is configured with a first flow passage for passing a flow of an overly reactive reactant; a permeable first wall for controlled flow of the overly reactive reactant into a second flow passage providing a flow of a second reactant; a permeable second wall having a catalyst supported on an inner surface thereof for catalyzing reaction of the reactants flowing in the second flow passage; the permeable second wall passing through a flow containing the target product; and a non-permeable third wall defining a third flow passage for exiting the product mixture. The reactor can be employed in selective oxidation, oxidative dehydrogenation, and alkylation processes to reduce the formation of byproducts.
Preparation of 18F-fluciclovine
The present invention provides a method for the production of [.sup.18F]-FACBC which has advantages over know such methods. Also provided by the present invention is a system to carry out the method of the invention and a cassette suitable for carrying out the method of the invention on an automated radiosynthesis apparatus.
Process to make non nucleosidal reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTI) for the treatment of HIV
A chemical process that can form pharmaceutically acceptable medicaments NNRTI's for the treatment of HIV starting from thiotriazole compounds. The chemical process can form thiotetrazoles such as 2-((1-(naphthalen-1-yl)-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)thio)-N-(2-nitrophenyl)actetamide that is. a potent NNRTI with nanomolar activity. ##STR00001##
Apparatus for location-independent treatment of biomass
Within the scope of hydrothermal carbonization, biomass is converted to bio-coal and other products. Because biomass occurs at irregular intervals at different locations and also, in part, only individual method steps are required at different locations, however, an apparatus for treatment of biomass is integrated into a variable, mobile container, and mobile containers adapted to the individual steps of the method are provided, which can be transported in compact manner and can be adapted, in terms of size, in the setup situation. This arrangement allows effective equipping of the individual containers, which can be expanded into a setup situation on location.
Operation method for multichannel apparatus and multichannel apparatus
A method of operating a microchannel reactor, in which a reaction channel is formed, includes generating a reaction product by causing a chemical reaction in a raw material fluid while causing the same to flow through a reaction channel. If the flow rate of the raw material fluid and/or the reaction product fluid flowing through a reaction channel decreases, a fluid which is inert to the raw material fluid and the reaction product is mixed into the fluid flowing through the reaction channel, in a flow rate corresponding to the decreased flow rate and at a position downstream of the introduction position of the raw material fluid into the reaction channel.
Gaseous fuel CPOX reformers and methods of CPOX reforming
A gaseous fuel catalytic partial oxidation (CPOX) reformer can include a plurality or an array of spaced-apart CPOX reactor units, each reactor unit including an elongate tube having a wall with internal and external surfaces, the wall enclosing an open gaseous flow passageway with at least a portion of the wall having CPOX catalyst disposed therein and/or comprising its structure. The catalyst-containing wall structure and open gaseous flow passageway enclosed thereby define a gaseous phase CPOX reaction zone, the catalyst-containing wall section being gas-permeable to allow gaseous CPOX reaction mixture to diffuse therein and hydrogen-rich product reformate to diffuse therefrom. At least the exterior surface of a CPOX reaction zone of a CPOX reactor unit can include a hydrogen barrier. The gaseous fuel CPOX reformer also can include one or more igniters, and a source of gaseous reformable fuel.
