COMPRESSION GARMENT FOR NEUROLOGICAL AND CIRCULATORY DISORDERS
A compression garment for a neurological disorder includes a body portion and a pad. The body portion may be operable to wrap around a foot and the pad can attach to an inner surface of the body portion. The pad can include an outward protrusion and/or an inward recess. A guide sleeve may be dimensioned to wrap together with the body portion around the foot, the pad being disposable between the body portion and the guide sleeve. A first tensioning band may be attached onto to first and second locations of the body portion and be operable to secure opposing first and second portions of the inner surface of the body portion to secure the outward protrusion and/or recess of the pad against the abductor hallucis and flexor hallucis brevis muscles of the foot. The outward protrusion can include a receiver for the metatarsal head.
FOOT SOLE STIMULATION TOOL
A foot sole stimulation tool is provided to press pressure points or support an arch by using protrusions, and the foot sole stimulation tool can place the protrusions in accurate positions. Four or more projections are sealed tightly within a bag body whose bottom side is affixed to a shoe sole, three or more of the projections determine a position of each projection by projections for recessed portion placed on a recessed portion of a foot sole, and projections for convex portion placed on a pressed target part of the foot sole are arranged accurately. The projections for convex portion press the pressure points and support the arch. For example, it can execute pressures to an adductor hallucis muscle precisely and is helpful for preventing hallux valgus.
PERCUSSIVE THERAPY DEVICE WITH VARIABLE AMPLITUDE
A percussive therapy device that includes a housing, an electrical source, a motor positioned in the housing, a switch for activating the motor, a push rod assembly operatively connected to the motor and configured to provide reciprocating motion in response to activation of the motor, and a massage attachment secured to a distal end of the push rod assembly. The reciprocating motion of the push rod assembly has a user-adjustable amplitude.
Massage apparatus and massage method
A massage apparatus includes a sheet member attachable to a skin of a body, and a pressure unit that presses the skin from the sheet member. The sheet member is elastic and thermoplastic such that the sheet member is hardened at a temperature of the skin and is softened at a predetermined temperate different from the temperature of the skin. The sheet member has one or more indications indicating an area of the skin to which the sheet member is to be attached. The pressure unit applies a pressure to the skin so as to provide a predetermined pressure distribution in which positions of the pressure distribution are defined with reference to one or more positions on the body in a situation in which the sheet member is attached to the area.
Contractible band for use in a wearable garment comprising a shape memory material part
A textile contractible band for use in a wearable garment for applying pressure to a subject body part includes a shape memory material, in particular a shape memory alloy, or shape memory polymer, part and a textile part, said parts being successively coupled to form said contractible band, wherein the shape memory material part has an electrically-contractible shape memory material and a spring arranged to reverse the contraction of the shape memory material, and wherein the textile part has an elastic fabric band and an optical fiber strain sensor arranged to sense the fabric band strain. The sensor can be a lossy optical fiber arranged in meandering layout such that variation of band extension causes variation of transmitted light. The contractual band can be used for lymphedema or venous return.
BANDAGE FOR THE BACK OR PELVIS
A bandage for the back or pelvis has adjacent pads mounted on an inner face of a supporting piece in a back area of the bandage, respectively one fastener strap piece for applying the bandage by joining together the ends of the two fastener strap pieces attaching at the opposite edge regions of the supporting piece, and two tensioning belts being assigned to the supporting piece, which are guided in such a manner that the pads approach each other when tensioning the tensioning belts and apply a pressure dependent on a tension force acting on the tensioning belts onto the relevant body part.
SYSTEM FOR MEASURING AND MANUFACTURING COMPRESSION GARMENTS
A system for accurately measuring compression garments in laboratory and manufacturing environments provides measurements for industry-standard sizes and individually customized garments and can use the measurements to modify the programming of a manufacturing system to alter the compression parameters of subsequently manufactured garments. The system includes a support structure and a plurality of sensor units at intervals along the support structure with each sensor unit extended circumferentially around the support structure to define a three-dimensional simulated anatomical form circumferentially stretching the compression garment upon insertion of the assembly. Each sensor unit has a pressure sensor measuring the pressure exerted by the compression garment on the sensor unit after insertion.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HEATED MASSAGE THERAPY
A method and apparatus for the treatment of, and reduction of inflammation caused by, carpal tunnel syndrome.
Noninvasive protection from emboli
A system for diverting emboli within a patient can include a device that detects a presence of emboli in a first blood vessel of a patient. A compression member can be aligned with a second blood vessel of the patient when a collar supporting the compression member is positioned at least partially around a portion of the patient. In response to the detection device, a controller can actuate the compression member, when the presence of emboli is detected, from an unactuated state to an actuated state in which at least a portion of the compression member (i) is closer to the second blood vessel than while in the unactuated state and (ii) compresses and limits blood flow through the second blood vessel.
EXERCISER FOR REGAINING FLEXIBILITY
The exerciser for restoring flexibility is an electromechanical apparatus having a bed with slots on which the user lies or sits and a mechanism which, by means of high-speed rotational eccentric movements of its pegs, which are tubes having a rounded head and a flat surface that protrude through the slots of the bed, transfer the movement to the muscles of the body being targeted, thereby loosening them and consequently improving the flexibility thereof. The mechanism is mobilized by an electric motor which, by means of a belt, turns toothed pulleys, which cause eccentric shafts to rotate which, in turn, transfer that movement to bars on which a series of pins is aligned, which pins are covered by the pegs, which can be interchanged to provide different sizes and shapes, with all of them having a rounded and flat cover for adapting to the different muscles of the body and physical dimensions of the user.
