Wheeled walker

A rollator including a frame having first and second side frames extending along respective ones of a pair of planes. First and second upper body supports are coupled to and disposable at an adjustable height above the frame. A pair of forearm gutters are coupled to respective ones of the first and second upper body supports for engaging and supporting a respective forearm of the user during use. Each forearm gutter includes a peripheral edge, a forward midpoint on the peripheral edge, and a rearward midpoint on the peripheral edge. Each forearm gutter defines a longitudinal axis bisecting the respective forearm gutter and passing through the forward midpoint and the rearward midpoint. The forward midpoint and the rearward midpoint on each forearm gutter fall between the pair of planes.

Collapsible upright wheeled walker apparatus

A collapsible upright wheeled walker with adjustable armrests that support sufficient user upper-body weight to facilitate a natural upright gait and provide unassisted mobility for a wide range of mobility-impaired individuals. The apparatus may be easily and quickly folded (and unfolded) and may include bilateral stabilizing wheel suspensions to facilitate navigation over uneven terrain. The apparatus includes a frame-stiffening folder assembly and may also include mechanical brakes, an adjustable upper armrest assembly with removable padded forearm supports and two pairs of handles, at least one of which is disposed sufficiently forward to place the user within the polygonal footprint defined by the front and rear wheels to provide support without leaning, stooping, or risking falls.

WALKING ASSIST DEVICE

A walking assist device includes: a frame; a pair of right and left arm portions; a pair of right and left grasp portions provided on the pair of right and left arm portions; a plurality of wheels including a drive wheel; a drive unit driving the drive wheel; a grasp portion drive unit configured to move the grasp portions; a battery; a control unit controlling the drive unit; and a grasp portion state detection unit detecting a state of each of the grasp portions. The control unit includes: a grasp portion state observation unit observing a grasp portion state that is a state of the grasp portions; a walking state evaluation unit evaluating a walking state of the user based on the grasp portion state observed using the grasp portion state observation unit; and a correction adjustment unit adjusting a control command for at least one of the drive unit and the grasp portion drive unit based on the walking state evaluated using the walking state evaluation unit.

DETACHABLE CRUTCHES AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE SAME

A pair of detachable crutches extends in a longitudinal direction, where each of the detachable crutches includes a metal ball having magnetic properties and a holder having magnetic properties. A magnetic force is generated between the metal ball provided at one of the crutches and the holder provided at the other one of the crutches so as to maintain attachment therebetween. Each of the crutches further includes a sensor configured to sense whether the metal ball and the holder have been attached to each other.

Posture-correcting walker
10583065 · 2020-03-10 ·

A posture-correcting walker for assisting a user in performing safe ambulation, comprising a frame having a pair of front legs and a pair of rear legs joined together by a pair of horizontal supports, a pair of handgrips positioned on the horizontal supports, and a pair of forearm guiding supports which project upwardly at a rearward angle which are adapted to maintain the user's elbows and forearms at a guided posture angle during ambulation to ensure correct walking posture with the user's legs maintained within the frame. The forearm guiding supports each have a retaining cradle which supports the forearms and restricts rearward and sideways motion. The walker further has a descending segment ahead of each handgrip to ensure correct placement of the hands, as well as a pair of stabilizing segments which cause the rear legs to project rearwardly which stabilize the walker.

CRUTCH HAVING JOINT STRUCTURE

A crutch has a joint structure, and the crutch includes a stationary section supported on a floor at a lower end of the stationary section, and extending from a lower portion to an upper portion thereof; and a rotary section coupled to the stationary section so as to be rotatable relative to the stationary section with respect to a rotational axis provided at the upper portion of the stationary section. The rotary section is configured by coupling a hand grip part for supporting a wearer's hand in a state where the wearer wears the crutch and a forearm part supporting a forearm of the wearer.

Wheeled walker wheel direction lock apparatus and method

A collapsible wheeled walker with two side frames and two height adjustable upper body supports. The apparatus includes a plurality of wheel direction locks each coupled to a wheel and adapted to lock the wheel in fixed moving direction or to release the wheel to turn freely. The apparatus may include a seat that is slidably attached to the two side frames and is movable between a front position for walking inside the frames and a rear position sitting. The apparatus may be converted to a transport chair by locking front wheel and releasing the rear wheels, and sliding the movable seat to the rear position. It may include an X-folder that facilitates collapsing the walker to a small footprint. It may also include two forearm gutters as part of the upper body supports that give the user an upright walking posture for health benefits.

Reciprocating arm motion walker

A wheeled ambulatory aid for mobility and training which is advanced via bodily contact. Reciprocating UE movement is enabled and reciprocating gait patterns can be performed. The patient mobility aid includes a frame, and at least first and second wheels operatively secured to and supporting the frame for selective rolling movement. First and second support assemblies are located on first and second sides of the frame, respectively. A reverse motion linkage operatively associated with the first and second support assemblies, the reverse motion linkage including a first state configured to provide independent between the first and second support assemblies, and a second state configured to provide interrelated movement between the first and second support assemblies to create symmetrical out of phase reciprocating UE movement. Support assemblies can variably be statically positioned.
