The rehabilitation training apparatus includes a powertrain, a pneumatic flexible actuator and a receiving portion. The powertrain is coupled to the pneumatic flexible actuator and configured to rotate upon drive of the pneumatic flexible actuator. The receiving portion is coupled to the powertrain and configured to receive a training portion and be interlocked with rotation of the powertrain.

Methods and apparatus for adjusting blood circulation

Embodiments of the invention include a method and a device for increasing blood flow and controlling the temperature of a mammal by applying a desired pressure to extremities of a mammal. The device generally includes a pliant body element that is adapted to receive a portion of an extremity of the mammal therein, and then apply a pressure to a portion of the extremity when a pressure is provided to a region in which the extremity is positioned within the pliant body element. By evacuating the region in which the extremity is enclosed, a contact surface area between the extremity of a mammal and the pliant body element is increased, due to the external atmospheric pressure acting on the pliant body element against the skin of the extremity of the mammal. The application of pressure assures that sufficient contact and thermal heat transfer (heating or cooling) is provided to the extremity of the mammal.

EAR THERAPEUTIC DEVICE
20190274917 · 2019-09-12 ·

An ear therapeutic device comprises middle ear ambient pressure equalizing means and vibrations means for providing oscillating vibrations. Middle ear pressure equalizing means comprises at least one conduit comprising at least one first end configured for receiving an airflow blown thereinto and at least one second end configured for external attachment to the ear aperture being in a fluid communication therebetween; and said vibration means induces vibrations propagating into said patient Eustachian tube.

THERAPEUTIC DEVICE FOR TREATMENT OF CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE SINUSES, NASAL CAVITIES, EAR, NOSE AND THROAT

A therapeutic device for treating conditions of a user's nasal cavities, sinuses, and/or ear canals includes a housing which the user may hold to apply the therapeutic device to the user, the housing including an inlet that allows air to enter the therapeutic device. An acoustic vibrator located within the housing provides an acoustic vibration to the user, and a power supply located within the housing provides power to the acoustic vibrator. A mask is connected to the housing and includes a nasal interface that is appliable around the nose of the user. A valve of the mask opens to allow the user to breathe through the inlet and closes to prevent the user from exhaling through the inlet. The mask further includes a diaphragm and a nasal cavity in which a user's nostrils are located when the nasal interface is applied to the user.

Treatment apparatus for removing heat from subcutaneous lipid-rich cells and massaging tissue

A treatment device for removing heat from subcutaneous lipid-rich cells of a subject having an actuator that provides mechanical energy to the tissue. The mechanical energy provided may include a vibratory component that can range between low and ultra-high frequencies, and such energy may include various combinations of two or more frequencies tailored to produce the desired effect on the subcutaneous tissue. Disruption of adipose tissue cooled by an external treatment device may be enhanced by applying mechanical energy to cooled tissue. Furthermore, such mechanical energy may impart a vibratory effect, a massage effect, a pulsatile effect, or combinations thereof on the tissue.

HYBRID PERISTALTIC MULTI-WAVE COMPRESSION METHODS AND SYSTEMS
20240164980 · 2024-05-23 · ·

The present invention relates to inflation-deflation sequence systems, programs and methods that create multiple peristaltic waves in a single sleeve to more efficiently utilize the pressure sleeve and increase therapy output cycles. These multiple peristaltic waves occur simultaneously during at least a portion of a treatment protocol in a single sleeve.

SYSTEM, METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING AND EXPRESSING COMPLIANCE OF A MEDICAL TREATMENT

A compression garment controller and a method for monitoring compliance of a user wearing a compression garment wrapped around a limb of the user in accordance with a compression therapy. The method comprising directing a flow of fluid from a pressurized fluid flow source to cyclically inflate and deflate an inflatable bladder of the compression garment; receiving pressure signals indicative of fluid pressure in the inflatable bladder from a pressure sensor communicatively coupled thereto during at least one of inflation and deflation of the inflatable bladder in a plurality of successive compression cycles; processing the received pressure signals to determine compliance or non-compliance with the compression therapy; causing at least one a light emitting diode (LED) to illuminate in a first color indicating compliance with the compression therapy; and causing the at least one LED to illuminate in a second color indicating non-compliance with the compression therapy.

DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTERMITTENT DISPLACEMENT OF BLOOD TO MITIGATE PERIPHERAL NERVE NEUROPATHY

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to devices, systems and methods adapted for implementing intermittent displacement of blood to mitigate peripheral nerve neuropathy such as that induced by chemotherapeutic agents (i.e., chemotherapy-induced neuropathy (CIN)) that are administered to a patient. Such devices, systems and methods advantageously provide for precise, uniform and controlled blood flow occluding (and optionally blood displacing) compression along irregular surfaces of an appendage of a patient. Such precise, uniform and controlled blood occluding compression is imparted upon the epidermal and dermis skin layers within the aforementioned areas of a patient's extremities to decrease the time that free nerve endings located in the epidermal and encapsulated nerve endings located in the dermis skin layers are exposed to nerve damaging chemotherapy chemicals, thereby substantially decreasing CIN caused by prolonged exposure to such chemicals.

METHOD FOR EXTERNAL EAR CANAL PRESSURE REGULATION TO ALLEVIATE DISORDER SYMPTOMS
20190231597 · 2019-08-01 ·

A method for external ear canal pressure regulation to alleviate one or more symptoms associated with a disorder or treat one or more disorders, the method including providing a fluid transfer device which generates a fluid flow of a fluid through an earplug, the earplug having an earplug external surface configured to sealably engage an external ear canal wall as a barrier between an external ear canal pressure and an ambient pressure; sealably engaging the earplug of the fluid transfer device with the external ear canal wall as the barrier between the external ear canal pressure and the ambient pressure; and operating the fluid transfer device to generate the fluid flow of the fluid through the earplug to achieve an external ear canal pressure differential between the external ear canal pressure and the ambient pressure effective to alleviate a disorder symptom or treat a disorder.
