A droplet dispensing apparatus includes a crystal sensor, a resonance frequency measuring unit, and a controller. The controller is configured to obtain the resonance frequency of the crystal sensor before droplets are discharged from a liquid dropping device, control the liquid dropping device to discharge droplets on to the crystal sensor, and obtain the resonance frequency of the crystal sensor after droplets are discharged from the liquid dropping device. The controller estimates a volatilization amount for the droplets on the crystal sensor based on a temporal change trend in the resonance frequency of the crystal sensor and calculates the total weight of the droplets discharged from the liquid dropping device based on the difference in resonance frequency of the crystal sensor before and after the droplets are discharged and the estimated volatilization amount.

A method can comprise providing a barrier between a first region and a second region, wherein the first region comprises the sample, wherein the barrier maintains the first region at a first atmosphere that is different than a second atmosphere of the second region, wherein a portion of the barrier comprises a fluid in coherent motion; and using a detector at least partially contained in the first region to detect one or more signals from the sample while the first region is maintained at the first atmosphere that is different than the second atmosphere of the second region. The portion of the barrier comprising fluid may have a pressure lower than the first atmosphere, the second atmosphere, or both.

The present invention involves a fill needle system for aseptically dispensing a pharmaceutical fluid in an aseptic chamber comprises a fill needle tubing in fluid communication with a pharmaceutical fluid source via flexible tubing and extending through a fill needle hub; a fill needle dispensing tip disposed at a dispensing end of the fill needle tubing; a fill needle sheath shaped and arranged to removably mate with and seal aseptically to the fill needle hub to form an aseptically sealed volume enclosing the dispensing tip; and a fluid pressure pulse induction system disposed and configured to compress the flexible tubing in order to dislodge droplets of pharmaceutical fluid retained on the dispensing tip after halting dispensing of the pharmaceutical fluid. An associated method of dispensing pharmaceutical fluid comprises operating the fluid pressure pulse induction system to dislodge the droplets. The system may comprise a controller for automatically controlling the dispensing and droplet dislodging.
