DEVICES AND METHOD FOR MULTI-WELL PLATE LIQUID DISTRIBUTION
Devices and methods for multi-well plate liquid distribution are provided. Devices herein provide a plurality of dispensing stations configured to receive and dispense or disburse liquid to the wells of a multi-well plate. The dispensing stations include dispensing surfaces configured to receive liquid droplets dispensed by manual or automatic pipettes. The dispensing surfaces are configured to retain received liquids until force is applied and distribution to the wells of the multi-well plate occurs. Devices and methods provided herein increase the consistency of laboratory results in procedures requiring liquid distribution.
FLUIDIC PROCESSING WORKSTATION
A workstation for processing particles entrained in a fluid includes a consumable portion and a reusable portion. The consumable portion is mounted to the reusable portion to form a fluid chamber in which an acoustic wave can be generated. The consumable portion implements a closed, isolated fluid environment that is managed using components of the reusable portion, such as valves, sensors and pumps. The workstation can be operated to retain particles from the fluid via the acoustic wave and provide a new fluid media to the retained particles. Following processing, the consumable portion can be removed and discarded.
Sealing products for individual wells in multi-well arrays
A heat sealing product suitable for seating one or more individual containers, said heat sealing product comprising: (i) a plurality of individual heat seals set out in a configuration substantially corresponding to the shape and configuration of the container(s) to be sealed, the size and shape of the individual heat seals corresponding substantially to the size and shape of the tops of the individual container(s) to be sealed; (ii) a peelable support film layer coated on one side with a low tack adhesive, the low tack adhesive serving to hold the individual heat seals in place on the support film layer in the desired configuration prior to the sealing process; (iii) alignment points in the sealing product adapted to enable the heat sealing product and therefore the individual heat seals of the heat sealing product to be aligned substantially exactly with respect to the individual containers to be sealed.
Solid reagent containment unit, in particular for a portable microfluidic device for sample preparation and molecule analysis
A solid reagent containment unit is formed by a support; a frame body fixed to the support and delimiting internally, together with the support, an analysis volume; a reagent-adhesion structure within the analysis volume; and at least one reagent cavity, which extends within the reagent-adhesion structure. The reagent-adhesion structure is of an adhesion material embossable at temperatures lower by 6-8° C. than its own melting point and has a melting point such as not to interfere with the analysis. The reagent cavity forms a retention wall, laterally surrounding the reagent cavity, and houses dried reagents. The adhesion material is chosen among wax, such as paraffin, a polymer, such as polycaprolactone, a solid fat, such as cocoa butter, and a gel, such as hydrogel or organogel.
Biopsy sample container and method of use
A sample container for use in imaging includes a bottom portion and a wall portion extending upwardly from the bottom portion. The lid overlies the cavity when in the closed position, and a plurality of latches are coupled to the lid and extend substantially orthogonally from the lid. A plurality of recesses are coupled to the wall portion, each recess of the plurality of recesses being adapted and configured to receive one of the plurality of latches. A first alignment structure is within the cavity and is adapted and configured to align a sample lengthwise and widthwise within the cavity such that the sample is aligned relative to an imaging system when the sample container is engaged with the imaging system. A second alignment structure is at least partially within the cavity, and is adapted and configured to align the sample height wise within the cavity.
PATHOGEN FILTRATION APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
An apparatus, system, and method for filtering and assaying a fluid sample are described. In an embodiment, the apparatus includes a filtration unit comprising: a filter bracket shaped to removably couple with a fluid sample cup and a vacuum container; and a filter housing cooperatively couplable to the filter bracket and comprising a filter configured to filter fluid passing through the filter bracket; and an assay device shaped to cooperatively couple with the filter housing and comprising a porous matrix positioned to be in fluidic communication with the filter when the filter housing is cooperatively coupled with the assay device.
CHIP FIXING DEVICE AND PARTICLE INSPECTION DEVICE
A chip fixing device includes a mounting portion on which a channel chip is mounted and a fixing unit for fixing the channel chip mounted on the mounting portion. The channel chip includes a channel through which a liquid containing a particle flows and a pressure changing unit for introducing the particle of interest from the channel. The mounting portion includes a substrate on which the channel chip is set. The fixing unit includes a fixing member for pressing the channel chip against the substrate, a piezoelectric element for actuating the pressure changing unit, and a holding member configured to hold the piezoelectric element and movable in a direction in which the holding member approaches and separates from the pressure changing unit. The fixing member includes an elastically deformable portion for fixing the holding member to the fixing member by deforming elastically when pressing the channel chip against the substrate.
LABORATORY SAMPLE CONTAINER CARRIER HANDLING APPARATUS AND LABORATORY SAMPLE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a laboratory sample container carrier handling apparatus comprising a revolving device, being adapted to move a sample container carrier supplied to the revolving device along a circular path P, and wherein the circular path P has at least one ascending ramp. The present disclosure relates further to a laboratory sample distribution system comprising such a laboratory sample container carrier handling apparatus.
TRANSPORT TRAY FOR PACKAGING UNITS
A transport tray with a plurality of sleeves each configured to receive a substantially cylindrical container having a cylindrical container wall and a container bottom surface arranged orthogonally to the container wall. Each sleeve includes a top opening, a bottom opening, a sleeve wall that extends along a sleeve axis between the top opening and the bottom opening and is configured to abut at least a portion of the container wall of a respective container, and one or more support feet adjacent to the bottom opening and extending from the sleeve wall towards the sleeve axis, wherein each support foot has a bottom surface and a top surface configured to abut the container bottom surface of a respective container forming a gap between the support foot bottom surface and the container bottom surface along the sleeve axis. The one or more support feet comprise a thermally conductive polymer.
