PIPETTING DEVICE AND A METHOD OF PROCESSING A FLUID SAMPLE
A pipetting device for processing a fluid sample includes a receiving element and a pipette tip detachably arranged on the receiving element, a displacement element flow-connected to the pipette tip for generating a flow for receiving or ejecting the fluid sample. The pipetting device includes an optically transparent extension detachably arranged on the pipette tip in such a way that the extension is flow-connected to the displacement element via the pipette tip, so that the fluid sample can be received into the extension or can be ejected from the extension by the flow that can be generated by the displacement element.
Package, a method and use
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a box-shaped package, comprising: a base, and a cover configured to be placed on the base to close the package, wherein in a closed configuration of the package, the interface between the base and the cover is gas-tight; the base and/or the cover comprise one or more gas-permeable zones which are capable of passing gases, such as air, into and out from the package, particularly in the closed configuration.
Multi-well sample testing apparatus and methods of sample testing using the same
A sample testing apparatus includes a sample tray defining a planar surface and a plurality of wells recessed relative to the planar surface, and a lid member configured to be sealed about the planar surface of the sample tray. The lid member includes an adhesive layer configured to be sealed to the planar surface of the sample tray, a breathable film layer disposed about the adhesive layer, and a backing layer disposed about the breathable film layer. Methods of using the sample testing apparatus for testing a sample and kits to facilitate such testing are also provided.
Sealer-less plasma bottle and top for same
A top for a plasma storage container includes a top body that defines the structure of the top and seals an opening of the plasma storage container. The top also includes a first opening and a vent opening extending through the top body. A valve mechanism is located at least partially within the top body and includes an aperture therethrough. The aperture opens upon connection of a blunt cannula to provide access to the interior of the plasma storage container. The top also includes a vent filter. The vent filter allows air to vent through the vent opening during plasma collection.
Well plate drier and cover
Apparatus and method for removing liquid from exterior surfaces of sample wells in a well plate. Wells that have water or other liquid on an exterior surface, e.g., after acoustic energy treatment in a water bath, may have the liquid removed by contacting the exterior surfaces of the sample wells with an absorbent material. A pad made of absorbent material may have a plurality of openings arranged to receive an array of sample wells inserted into the openings so that liquid can be removed from each of the sample wells.
Implementing barriers for controlled environments during sample processing and detection
Provided herein are methods for processing and/or detecting a sample. A method can comprise providing a barrier between a first region and a second region, wherein the first region comprises the sample, wherein the barrier maintains the first region at a first atmosphere that is different than a second atmosphere of the second region, wherein a portion of the barrier comprises a fluid in coherent motion; and using a detector at least partially contained in the first region to detect one or more signals from the sample while the first region is maintained at the first atmosphere that is different than the second atmosphere of the second region. The portion of the barrier comprising fluid may have a pressure lower than the first atmosphere, the second atmosphere, or both.
LIQUID HANDLING DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a liquid handling device, methods of operating a liquid handling device, a method of performing a diagnostic test, a computer program and a system. In particular, the liquid handling device is capable of controllable bi-directional or multi-directional flow of reagents across one or more reaction zones allowing rapid, precise and controllable quenching of reactions and/or biological interactions.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FEMALE URINE SAMPLE COLLECTION
The present invention provides systems, methods and apparatus for enabling a female user to hygienically collect a urine sample, the apparatus includes a container including a urine collection body for receiving a urine sample from the female user with and a separator mechanism for separating a first volume of urine of the urine sample to a first urine storage element and a second volume of urine of the urine sample to a second urine storage element, a lid for closing the container after the urine sample has been received and optionally a handle for holding the container.
DOUBLE-WALLED CONTAINMENT CELL
Double-walled containment cells are described as may be used for storage, transport, and examination of a sample held within the cell by use of optical analysis techniques. A double-walled containment cell can include multiple types of windows that can be located as desired on the containment cells and thereby provide for optical access to a sample for multiple optical analysis techniques. Disclosed containment cells can be sized and designed for use with existing optical analysis systems, e.g., laser ablation, X-ray diffraction, spectral analysis (e.g., Raman spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, etc.), imaging analysis, etc.
SOBRIETY MONITORING SYSTEM
A system and method of monitoring sobriety using a hand-held breath testing device that, on receipt of a user's breath, generates a breath test signal comprising substance content data and user identification data, and wirelessly transmits the breath test signal to a breath test signal receiving station.
