PULVERIZER SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PULVERIZING MATERIAL

A pulverizer for reducing a size of input material particles having a housing, a rotatable shaft with rotor arms and at least one airflow deflector cooperating with the rotor arms to deflect airflow within the pulverizer so as to form at least two overlapping vortices within the interior chamber such that input material particles in suspension in both overlapping vortices collide with each other to be thereby pulverized. The pulverizer also having a housing liner including a plurality of housing liner portions attached to and extending along a outer structural wall of the housing. The pulverizer also having a housing sidewall having an outer structural wall with a plurality of wall sections. The pulverizer also having canted rotor arms and rotor arms with removable wear pads. An anti-caking device for a vessel such as a pulverizer is also provided.

A comminution device can include a crushing body extraction mechanism. The crushing body extraction mechanism can be configured to permit one or more crushing bodies (e.g. rollers of a roller press, etc.) to be continuously moved linearly away from a frame to expose the crushing bodies from the frame. In some embodiments, the extraction mechanism may be configured to utilize one or more rack and pinion mechanisms. The pinion for each such mechanism may be powered by one or more rotary motors or other type of rotary drive mechanism. In other embodiments, the extraction mechanism can include one or more rack and ratchet mechanisms. Each rack and ratchet mechanism may include a hydraulic cylinder or other linear actuator that is extendable and retractable for actuating motion of a ratchet along a rack having columns of differently angled steps to facilitate extension and retraction of one or more crushing bodies.

BIOMASS FEEDSTOCK RECOVERY EQUIPMENT AND PROCESSES

The present disclosure is broadly concerned with processing equipment and methods for processing of a biomass feedstock into one or more biomass particles of reduced size, and in particular, hemp. The vertical impact liberating equipment and methods can process whole hemp stalks into hemp particulates comprising distinct fractions of hemp hurds, bast fiber, and fines. Advantageously, in preferred embodiments, the biomass feedstock is pulled through a defined gap and into a defined chamber. This action causes a successive decrease and increase of pressure within the biomass feedstock, yielding the one or more biomass particles of reduced size.

COMMINUTION MACHINE
20190054474 · 2019-02-21 ·

A comminuting machine for comminuting material includes a machine frame, a comminuting rotor rotatably mounted on the machine frame, and a material feed area. The material feed area has a wall section over which the material to be comminuted can be supplied to the comminuting rotor and which is designed to be stationary during a comminuting operation of the comminuting machine and can be pivoted about a rotational axis during a maintenance operation of the comminuting machine. Because the rotational axis is designed to be releasably lockable, a second releasably lockable rotational axis is provided together with the first rotational axis, and the wall section of the material feed area can selectively be pivoted about the first or second rotational axis during the maintenance operation of the comminuting machine.
