Combined grinding and leaching apparatus for ores and wastes and methods of use thereof
Disclosed is an apparatus that is an attrition mill for grinding or comminuting ores, mine wastes, and radioactive wastes some of which may comprise metals, which may include uranium and/or cesium and/or mercury and/or thorium and/or rare earth elements. Also disclosed are processes that employ the apparatus for combined grinding and optionally leaching metals from ores and wastes. Some such methods comprise an optional step of grinding and mixing the ore or waste with a solid inorganic base with water addition or with an aqueous inorganic base, follow by a step of grinding and mixing the ore or waste with an aqueous inorganic acid with or without leaching salt addition, to solubilize the metals present in the ore or the waste. The disclosed apparatus and methods, in some embodiments, enable efficient grinding and attrition of ores substrates and mine wastes even without need for grinding media.

A liquification system for an organic waste management system includes a hopper that is oriented vertically such that organic waste added to the hopper is biased by gravity toward a bottom end of the hopper; a fixed grinding plate disposed at the bottom end of the hopper and including grinding elements for grinding and liquefying organic waste; an agitator that is disposed within the hopper and is movable relative to the grinding plate in a first rotational direction that moves organic waste downward toward and against the grinding plate and in a second rotational direction that moves organic waste upward toward a top end of the hopper; a motor configured to selectively move the agitator in the first and second rotational directions under control of the controller; and an outlet through the bottom end of the hopper through which liquified organic waste drains from the hopper.

Method and apparatus for recycling asphalt milings
Apparatus and method for recycling asphalt millings containing bitumen and stone. A milling tube is provided having an outer tube and an inner tube axially aligned with and substantially contained within the outer tube, the inner tube having a diameter less that a diameter of the outer tube to thus define a mixing space between the inner and outer tubes. At least one of the inner and outer tubes is adapted to rotate relative to the other. An inlet is provided to the mixing space to receive the asphalt millings. A plurality of inner tube projections project radially outward from a surface of the inner tube toward the outer tube, and a plurality of outer tube projections project radially inward from a surface of the outer tube toward the inner tube. The milling tube facilitates the separation of the asphalt millings into bitumen and stone as one of the inner and outer tubes rotates relative to the other. Preferably, at least one of the outer and inner tubes contains an abrasive coating on a surface thereof, the inner tube projections and outer tube projections are comprised of wire rope, and an inlet is provided in the outer tube through which cold air can be applied to the mixing space.

A temperature-controlled component and a method for producing a temperature-controlled component, the temperature-controlled component includes a base body including at least one hollow space, through which a temperature control medium can flow. It is provided that in a first region, a first wall thickness is formed between an inner jacket surface of the hollow space and a jacket surface of the base body, and that in a second region, a second wall thickness is formed between an inner jacket surface of the hollow space and a jacket surface of the base body. The second region is a wear region of the component, and the second wall thickness is larger than the first wall thickness in this wear region.

HYBRID DISC
The invention relates to a circular disc element (10) comprising at least two beam elements (20). Each beam element extends beyond an outer circumference (11) of the circular disc element (10) in an extension direction (100) which is parallel to a radial direction (101) of the disc element (101). The circular disc element (10) further comprises at least two holes (30) extending through the circular disc element (10) in a longitudinal direction (110) which is substantially perpendicular to each of the extension directions (100) of the at least two beam elements (20). The at least two 10beam elements (20) are equidistantly spaced apart from each other with respect to a circumferential direction (120) of the circular disc element (10), which circumferential direction (120) corresponds to the outer circumference (11) of the circular disc element (10). The invention further relates to a use of the circular disc element (10) as grinding means in a grinding process, to a device for grinding slurry (50) as well as to a method for grinding slurry (50).
