SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EXERTING FORCE ON BODIES
Systems and methods for exerting forces on a body, including a support structure defining a space and a plurality of surface contacting units that are configured to exert force upon the body, such that the weight is distributed away from the primary weight bearing regions to non-weight bearing regions of the body, or vice versa, without exerting significant shear or frictional forces on surfaces of the body. The systems and methods may be used to exert forces to cause fluid shift in different compartments of the body. Applications include treatment of various disease conditions including pressure ulcers, heart failure, high blood pressure, preeclampsia, osteoporosis, injuries of spine and to slow microgravity-induced bone and muscle loss. The systems and methods may be used to simulate gravity, weightlessness or buoyancy, in rehabilitation medicine. The system may include a chair, bed, a wearable suit or an exoskeleton.
LOW FLOW PERCUSSIVE RESPIRATORY APPARATUS AND RELATED TREATMENT
A valve assembly attached to a capacitor such that pressurizing the capacitor to a first positive pressure threshold induces the valve assembly to open, the pressurized air is released to the patient, and then as the pressure in the capacitor drops to a second pressure threshold the valve closes and the capacitor begins to build pressure until the first positive pressure threshold is achieved and the process repeats. Relative to the valve assembly and integrated therein, is an incrementally adjustable index knob to vary the rate of a biasing force performing work against the actionable valve face of the diaphragm functional surface to set the performance of the valve assembly, thereby increasing the potential for correct operation across a range of oscillating rates supporting a broad spectrum of patient therapies and types.
Dual Action, Single Motor Massager
A personal massage apparatus employs a single motor to selectively provide the dual action of either a vibrating massage or a percussive massage. Two sprag bearings are mounted on the drive shaft of the electric motor, with the sprag bearings being oriented such that the first sprag bearing is driven when the drive shaft rotates counter-clockwise, and the second sprag bearing is driven when the drive shaft rotates clockwise. The first sprag bearing has an eccentric weight coupled thereto such that vibration for a vibrational massage is caused when the motor rotates counter-clockwise. The second sprag bearing has crankshaft and crank pin coupled thereto, driving a connecting rod in reciprocating motion to drive a percussive massage head when the motor rotates clockwise. A counterbalance on the crankshaft minimizes vibration when the percussion action is selected.
INSTRUMENT FOR FACIAL PERCUSSIVE TREATMENT
A device for treating sinus congestion. The device includes a handle and a head. The handle has a longitudinal axis extending from a first end to a second end. The head is located at the first end of the handle. The head includes a longitudinal axis extending from a first end to a second end and being perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the handle. The first end of the head includes a recess. The head is removably attached to the handle. The second end of the handle includes a removable cap that is metal.
TREATMENT UNIT AND MASSAGE MACHINE
A treatment unit includes a treatment part including a treatment element, a first drive unit including a swash plate eccentric cam and a second drive unit including an eccentric cam. One of the first drive unit and the second drive unit is connected to the treatment part, and the other one of the first drive unit and the second drive unit is connected to the one of the first drive unit and the second drive unit.
MASSAGER WITH JIG SAW COUPLING SHAFT
A massager having a shaft with a blade that allows the massager to be coupled to a conventional jig saw. The massager has a massage head that is shaped to provide massaging and is secured to a mounting flange using a ball interconnect and a washer. The blade has an end configured to engage the blade receiving mechanism of a conventional jig saw. Operation of the jig saw imparts reciprocal movement of the massage head for massaging activities.
Massage device and method of use
A massage device that includes a housing, an electrical input, a motor, a switch in electrical communication with the electrical input and the motor and configured to selectively provide power from the electrical input to the motor, an actuated output operatively connected to the motor and configured to reciprocate in response to activation of the motor, and a treatment structure operatively connected to a distal end of the actuated output. The actuated output is configured to reciprocate the treatment structure at a frequency of between about 15 Hz and about 100 Hz, and at an amplitude of between about 0.15 and about 1.0 inches. The combination of amplitude and frequency provides efficient reciprocation of the treatment structure such that the treatment structure provides therapeutically beneficial treatment to a targeted muscle of a user.
PERCUSSIVE THERAPY DEVICE WITH INTERCHANGEABLE MODULES
A percussive therapy device includes a housing, an electrical source, a motor positioned in the housing, a switch for activating the motor, and a push rod assembly operatively connected to the motor and configured to reciprocate in response to activation of the motor. A massage attachment is removably received on a distal end of the push rod assembly at a first location. The percussive therapy device also includes an attachment module associated with the housing of the percussive therapy device at a second location. The second location is different than the first location. The attachment module is configured to provide an active effect.
Skin cleanser
A skin cleanser includes a surface, such as a silicone surface, with at least one textured portion for transmitting vibrational tapping to the skin. The skin cleanser includes at least one oscillating motor for generating the tapping motion to the skin. The textured portion includes touch-points or a wave that transmit the tapping motion to skin in contact with the textured portions. The touch-points may include thicker and thinner formations of the touch-points to provide firmer or softer vibrations to the skin. The touch-points are within about 0.5 to 2.5 mm in diameter. One configuration includes multiple oscillating motors configured to provide different vibration frequencies at around 50-300 Hertz and operable simultaneously.
