A portable shredder unit includes a lightweight housing with an interior cavity divided into a battery storage cavity and a collection cavity, said housing includes a top opening, two opposite ends, two opposite side walls, and a floor; a removable lid attached to said top opening on said housing; a high capacity electric shredder component configured to shred paper, said shredder component includes at least one feeding slot opening, an electric shredding mechanism, and electric motor and an exit discharge opening said shredder component being oriented on said lid so that, said feeding slot opening is exposed when the lid is placed over the top opening of said housing and said exit discharge opening is oriented above and over said collection cavity in said housing so that shredded material exiting the exit discharge opening is deposited into said collection cavity; at least one pair of wheels attached to said housing near one said end; a handle attached to said housing; a GFCI receptacle having a ground wire; a 110 VAC main cable with a male electrical plug attached to one end configured to manually plug into an external 110 VAC female plug, and an opposite end being connected to said GFCI receptacle: at least one 12 VDC rechargeable battery located inside said battery storage cavity; an inverter configured to convert 12 VDC into 110 VAC, said inverter connected to said rechargeable battery to convert 12 VDC current into 110 VAC, said inverter; a control panel or set of switches electrically connected to said shredder, to said inverter and to said GFCI receptacle, said control panel or set of switches are configured to allow an operator to select the source of electricity either from said GFCI receptacle when said main cable is connected to an external 110 VAC female plug or from said inverter when connected to said rechargeable battery; and a ground roller ball attached to the floor of the housing and configured to contact a surface under the housing when, the portable shredding unit is placed onto the surface said ground roller ball electrically connected to the ground wire of said GFCI receptacle.

PORTABLE PAPER SHREDDER

Provided is a portable paper shredder, relating to the technical field of portable paper shredding devices. The portable paper shredder includes a chassis and a core disposed in the chassis. The core includes a rotating drive member and a cutter assembly that are in transmission connection. The chassis is provided with a paper shredding passage. A paper shredding end of the cutter assembly is located in the paper shredding passage. The paper shredding passage penetrates the chassis. Two ends of the paper shredding passage are provided with a paper feeding end opening and a paper outfeeding end opening separately. A side of the paper shredding passage extends outwards and forms an open notch on the sidewall of the chassis. The open notch directly communicates with the paper feeding end opening. Therefore, the portable paper shredder can broaden the application scope, help achieve miniaturization and improve portability.

The present invention discloses an automatic paper feeding method for a paper shredder and a paper shredder, including a step of disposing paper, a step of pressing paper, a step of automatically feeding paper continuously, and a step of shredding paper. The paper sheets to be shredded entering the automatic paper feeding channel are superimposed partially; the paper disposing mechanism and the automatic paper feeding channel of the paper shredder are located at two sides of the paper rolling device respectively; the paper rolling device is located at least at the position above the lower end portion of the paper disposing area/paper sheets to be shredded. In the present invention, the paper sheets to be shredded conveyed to the automatic paper feeding channel are superimposed partially; during shredding, the shredding cutter shreds a plurality of paper sheets to be shredded at a time, with a higher feed speed and an increased shred speed. Besides, the automatic feed speed can be adjusted. The present invention has an intelligent paper feeding function, which effectively prevents the overload during the automatic paper feeding and the automatic shredding.

Each resilient brace is a spacer between a pair of spaced-apart cutting blades. The braces support arbor and cutting blades. The rigid frame and the braces cooperate to strengthen, and to reduce translational motion of the arbor, while allowing rotation of the arbor. Each brace has a brace body, a brace tang extending therefrom, and a brace tab extending perpendicularly from the brace tang. Each brace tab is aligned with another along an edge of the rigid frame, the brace bodies are spacers between the cutting blades, and the brace tabs impair translational motion of the brace bodies. A paper shredder with a motor, gearing, and counterposing cutting assemblies has motion-limited resilient spacers adjacent to cutting blades.

Shredder auto feed system with paper stack separation mechanism

The present disclosure is generally related to an apparatus having cutter elements for destroying articles such as paper sheets and a mechanism for separating at least a sheet from a stack in a tray. A paper feed mechanism feeds paper that is separated from the stack by a stack separation mechanism to the cutter elements. The feed and separation mechanisms can be activated by rotation of the cutter elements. In one embodiment, the stack separation mechanism moves in an alternating manner between retracted and extended positions to disengage and engage and insert the stack to separate (with its edge) paper therefrom to feed to the feed mechanism for shredding. The paper stack separation mechanism can move in an non-undulating manner relative to the stack. A device for stripping stapled pages, a pivotable support plate, and pressure plate can also be used, as well as a number of sensors.

Mounted on lid of the housing is a high capacity paper shredder component. Located inside the battery storage cavity is at least one 12 VDC rechargeable battery. The battery is connected to an inverter configured to convert the 12 VDC current into 110 VAC current required by the shredder component. Mounted on one end of the housing is a pair of wheels. Mounted on the opposite end of the housing is a pivoting or retractable handle that enables the unit to be pulled across a flat surface. The unit includes a control panel with a mode switch that controls the electricity source to the shredder component. An electrical cable is mounted on a wire retracting mechanism located inside the housing or lid. An optional battery charger is, also provided.
