The second serrated cutting edge comprises a plurality of jags and each jag comprises a radially inner flank and a radially outer flank, each at an angle to the axis of rotation. A drive rotationally drives the second cutting element about the axis of rotation and an adjustment mechanism by which the plurality of first cutting elements and the second cutting element are displaceable relative to each other axially in the direction of the axis of rotation, that a cutting gap between them is adjustable.
Garbage disposer
A method for controlling a garbage disposer that includes a crushing unit, a housing that includes an inlet port and an outlet port, a storage body, a communication hole, and an agitation unit is disclosed. The method includes the actions of connecting the communication hole with the inlet port by rotating the storage body. The method further includes opening the communication hole by rotating the agitation unit. The method further includes crushing, by the crushing unit, garbage. The method further includes supplying garbage to the inlet port. The method further includes closing the communication hole by rotating the agitation unit. The method further includes dehydrating garbage stored in the storage body by rotating the agitation unit and the storage body at a first rotation speed while maintaining the communication hole in a closed state.
Food Waste Disposer Monitoring Using Phase Difference Between Motor Voltage And Motor Current
A control unit for a food waste disposer has a controller that determines operational status of the food waste disposer based on motor loading of an induction motor of the food waste disposer.
MACERATOR FOR UTILISATION OF HOSPITAL WASTE, IN PARTICULAR CELLULOSE PULP
A macerator is disclosed for utilisation of hospital waste, in particular cellulose pulp, to be used in hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities which require the utilisation ofhygiene products such as diapers, disposable paper bed sheets and other personal hygiene products, such as cellulose-base urinals and bedpans with their contents, that is, excreta. In the bottom zone a truncated cone shape grinder is placed, with slots separating the charge chamber from the discharge chamber, whereas on the motor axis a plate is located, bent at the end in parallel to the grinder surface, with slots in the bend, and moreover on the plate on the charge chamber side at least two shaped grinding knives are located, and within its end zone at least two squeezers, whereas under the plate from the discharge chamber side at least two scrapers are installed.
System and method for infusion and desiccation of foodstuffs
A food recycler can include a housing having a housing volume, a motor in electrical communication with a controller, a grinding mechanism in mechanical communication with the motor, a bucket having a bucket volume, the bucket being configured with the grinding mechanism contained therein, and a removable filter having a side wall, a top surface, a bottom surface and a filter material, wherein the side wall, the top surface, the bottom surface and the filter material are all made from a compostable or biodegradable material. A ratio of the bucket volume to the housing volume can be between 0.0717 and 0.2857, inclusive. The motor can be configured within the housing adjacent, at least in part, to the bucket.
Garbage Disposal Cleaning System
A garbage disposal cleaning system includes a garbage disposal that may be fluidly coupled to a drain on a sink. A scrubbing unit is removably positioned within the garbage disposal. The scrubbing unit frictionally engages the garbage disposal. The scrubbing unit contains and releases a detergent. The scrubbing unit cleans the garbage disposal when the garbage disposal is turned on. Thus, the scrubbing unit may reduce an odor relating to bacterial decay in the garbage disposal.
Solid waste treatment process
In an apparatus and process described, an organic fraction of solid waste is separated from light contaminants such as plastics and heavy contaminants such as grit. The organic fraction is subsequently processed by anaerobic digestion, which converts volatile solids to gas. In a first stage of the process, the waste is processed through a separator such as a vertical mill, which removes light fraction contamination, reduces organics particle size and dilutes the waste to thereby produce a slurry. In a second stage of the process, the slurry passes through a grit removal system, which removes heavy and settleable material, for example by way of a hydrocyclone. The light and heavy fraction contaminants are not carried through to the digestion process. The particle size of the organics is also reduced to facilitate digestion and the slurry has a dry solids concentration suitable for anaerobic digestion.
Shred and shear pump
The present invention is a pump used for applications where a solid is present in wastewater and other liquids that requires cutting and reduction in size so as to pass the solid through the inlet to the outlet of the pump. The pump has a pump casing with an inlet and an outlet formed therein. A drive unit rotates a drive shaft extending axially through the pump casing to an impeller and a cutter bar. The pump is further configured with a radial cutter ring assembly positioned adjacent the cutter bar and the inlet providing a shredding cutting action of solids between the rotating cutter bar sliding past a radial cutter ring assembly held stationary, e.g. cutting blades formed in an edge of the cutter bar rotate across an internal surface of the radial cutter ring assembly. The pump also has an axial cutter ring assembly with one or more blades forming openings adapted for the passage of solids from the inlet to the outlet to provide a shearing cutting action of solids by a rotation of an upper surface of the cutter bar sliding past an axial cutting surface of the blades of the axial cutter ring assembly. The shred and shear pump may be configured with a plurality of slots on the internal surface of the radial cutter ring assembly to hold woven fibrous material for the shredding cutting action. The pump also features improved optimized flow, cutting and reducing solids in the form of woven fibrous materials, and adjustability of the cutter housing for precision and wear adjustment.
