Air purification system
An input plenum is disclosed for mounting to an air conditioning/heating unit. The input plenum comprises an air filter track for introducing and removing the air filter. A grid array track is located within the input plenum. The grid array track enables a grid array and an electronic generator to be added to the plenum to upgrade the plenum into an air purification system. An improved one-piece grid may be incorporated into the grid array for generating an electric field in the air purification system.
Ion generator device
A system and method of treating air. Bipolar ionization is delivered to an airflow within a conduit from a tubeless ion generator. The ionized airflow may be delivered to a conditioned airspace by an HVAC system. In alternate applications, the airflow delivers ionized combustion air to an engine. The invention also includes a mounting assembly for positioning one or more ion generators into an airflow.
Method and an apparatus for cleaning the air
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for cleaning outside or inside air that is polluted by solid particles. The method comprises a specific sequence of measures for promoting agglomeration and/or coagulation of the particles, including ionization, followed by a series of filtrations. This lead to a surprising removal of ultra-fine particles of 1-100 ?m with a great efficiency. The invention includes an apparatus for the application of the method.
AIR PURIFIER DEVICE
An air purifier device is disclosed. The device includes at least one first collector, an ionizing device configured to ionize fine particles in the air, an agglomeration chamber configured to aggregate the ionized fine particles, and a frame configured to enclose the ionizing device, agglomeration chamber, and first collector. The first collector includes a non-insulating material first surface of a size greater than 1 square meter, a non-insulating material first reference surface, and a first electric generator configured to apply to the first surface a potential relative to the reference surface between 5 kV and 500 kV. The at least one first collector is configured to collect at least some of the aggregates of the fine particles. The ionizing device includes multiple spikes, a grating, and an electric generator configured to apply to the spikes a predetermined potential relative to the grating of at least 100 kV/m.
ELECTROSTATIC ENHANCEMENT OF INLET PARTICLE SEPARATORS FOR ENGINES
The present invention includes a device, a system, and a method for enhancing a particle separation efficiency, including a particle charging device adapted to impart predominately unipolar charging on a plurality of particles in a fluid stream, e.g. a gas stream; wherein the particle charging device is positioned upstream from and adapted to provide the plurality of particles charged by the particle charging device to a particle deflection device capable of separating the particles charged by the particle charging device from a core fluid flow that is substantially free of dust particles.
ION GENERATOR MOUNTING DEVICE
The present invention provides methods and systems for an ion generator mounting device for application of bipolar ionization to airflow within a conduit, the device includes a housing for mounting to the conduit having an internal panel within the enclosure, and an arm extending from the housing for extension into the conduit and containing at least one opening. At least one coupling for mounting an ion generator to the arm oriented with an axis extending between a pair of electrodes of the ion generator being generally perpendicular to a flow direction of the airflow within the conduit.
Separating primarily gas process fluids in an electrostatic coalescer
A method for coalescing a disperse phase component in a primarily gas process fluid includes passing the process fluid through a structure. The structure includes an outer wall with an electrically insulating material formed on an entire inner surface of the outer wall to define an entirely insulated flow path for receiving the process fluid and the flow path is free of any portion of the structure. A plurality of planar, spaced-apart electrode plates is positioned within the entirely insulated flow path and positioned substantially parallel to one another and substantially the entirety of each of the plurality of electrode plates is coated with an insulative material. At least one insulating member disposed in a space between and spaced apart from two adjacent electrode plates. A power source is applied to the electrode plates to generate an electrical field to coalesce droplets of the disperse phase component.
Electromechanical water separator
A water separator comprises an axially extending airflow passage, an airflow mixer, a plurality of electric plates of alternating charge, and a mechanical separator. The airflow mixer, the plurality of electric plates, and the mechanical separator are disposed within the airflow passage. The airflow mixer imparts a non-axial flow component on airflow through the airflow passage. The electric plates are situated downstream of the mixer, and create an electric field region within the airflow passage. The mechanical separator is situated at or downstream of the electric field region, and is disposed to separate water droplets from air.
Combustion apparatus and method of making a combustion apparatus
This invention relates to a method of increasing the size of particulates in a gas comprising particulates, e.g. a gas that is formed from the combustion of fuels. The method comprises mixing an ionised gas stream with the gas comprising particulates.
