Methods and equipment for treatment of odorous gas streams

A method for removing noxious, hazardous, toxic, mutagenic, and/or carcinogenic compounds and/or precursor compounds from a comingled gas, liquid, and/or solid stream is described. In one embodiment, the method is used to prepare the stream for feeding to an oxidizer, such as a thermal oxidizer, to reduce the amount of particulate matter discharged by the oxidizer and includes passing the stream through an ambient or chilled temperature condenser followed by an optional gas/solid separator, and one or more gas scrubbers prior to feeding to the oxidizer.

Electrostatic Precipitator and Method for Electrostatic Precipitation of Materials Out of an Exhaust Gas Flow

An electrostatic precipitator (1) to precipitate one or more materials (9) out of an exhaust gas flow (5) has a spray electrode (2) having an active part (14) for generating a corona discharge (6) and a flushing liquid supply (21), by means of which flushing liquid (10) is supplied into the precipitator (1) for removing deposits (11), made of the material(s) (9) to be separated, that settle on the spray electrode (2). The precipitator (1) uses less cleaning liquid and the cleaning is carried out more reliably. For this purpose, a flushing device (8) directs the flushing liquid (10) across a head region (12) of the spray electrode (2) onto the active part (14) of the spray electrode (2) as a flushing stream (22).

Water droplets collection device from airflow using electrostatic separators

There is provided a system and method for collecting water droplets from an airflow of a cooling tower (8) through condensation of water vapour using an electrostatic separator (20), wherein the electrostatic separator is a single unit electrostatic separator (20) or a multi-unit electrostatic separator. The method for water particles collection from the exhaust airflow of a cooling tower primarily comprises condensing water vapour into large water droplets. It is experimentally proved that electrostatic separation solves the problem of visible plume pollution, and blow down decreased since collected water flows back to the circulating water. Additionally, electrostatic separation results in small pressure drop of the cooling tower (8).

Gas treatment apparatus

A gas treatment includes: a gas scrubber chamber operable to receive an effluent gas stream originating from a manufacturing process tool to be scrubbed therewithin to provide a scrubbed gas stream; and an electrostatic precipitation chamber operable to receive the scrubbed gas stream to be treated therewithin to provide a treated gas stream, one of the gas scrubber chamber and the electrostatic precipitation chamber defining a first chamber and another of the gas scrubber chamber and the electrostatic precipitation chamber defining a second chamber, the first chamber being configured to surround the second chamber. In this way, the first chamber and the second chamber can share the same volume.
