Cooking exhaust hood ventilation system
A commercial cooking equipment exhaust hood system includes a hood structure including an inlet opening to an exhaust flow path through the hood. A filter unit is positioned along the exhaust flow path. An electrostatic precipitator unit is downstream of the filter unit. The electrostatic precipitator includes an ionizing section upstream of a collecting section. The ionizing section includes a plurality of ionizing flow paths having side profile patterns that vary in width between at least one wide section and at least one narrow section. The collecting section includes a plurality of collecting flow paths with side profile patterns of substantially uniform width and a repeating undulating side profile pattern. A UV light source may also be provided within the hood, with a controller operatively connected to control the UV light source via a dimmer to enable selective production various UV levels.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR NEGATIVE ION-BASED POLLUTION REDUCTION
Provided are purification systems and methods of using such systems for purifying various environments, such as indoor air, outdoor air, vehicle emissions, and industrial emissions. A purification system comprises an ionizing purifier having a substrate and an active coating. The active coating comprises a pyroelectric and/or piezoelectric material. During the operation, an incoming stream is directed toward the active coating while controlling the average pressure exerting on the active coating. This contact between the incoming stream and the active coating generates negative ions from components of the incoming stream via change in temperature and pressure/force/vibration, etc. The negative ions then interact with pollutants, transforming them into safe, purified materials of the outgoing stream. Unlike the pollutants in the incoming stream, the purified materials are non-harmful, and/or can be easily removed from the outgoing stream, e.g., by filtering and/or other separation techniques.
Electrostatic air filter
An electrostatic air filter connected to a high voltage source, including an air flow channel, an ion generator, at least one corona electrode and at least one cumulative electrode, the corona electrodes and the cumulative electrodes are configured so that corona discharges occur between the corona electrodes and the cumulative electrodes due to a first potential difference, causing ionization of contaminant particles present in the air flow channel. A separator of contaminant particles is disposed in the air flow channel and includes input and output electrodes that enable the flow of air therethrough in a direction away from the input electrode to the output electrode and further to the channel outlet. During operation, there is a first potential difference between the corona and input electrodes and a second potential difference between the input and output electrodes, so that the electric field strength in the space between the input and output electrodes is directed opposite to that in the space between the ion generator and the input electrode.
Ion generator device
An ion generating device can include a housing having an opening, an anode and a cathode disposed within the housing and having a space between them in fluid communication with the opening, a power source having a negative terminal and a positive terminal with a first connection between the negative terminal and the anode and a second connection between the positive terminal and the cathode, and an air mover disposed to direct an air flow through the space and out of the opening.
Charging apparatus and precipitator
Disclosed herein is a charging apparatus and precipitator. The charging apparatus includes a plurality of counter electrodes formed in a plate shape and arranged in a direction intersecting with a ventilation direction to allow respective surfaces thereof to follow the ventilation direction, and a plurality of high voltage electrodes formed in a wire shape and installed between the plurality of counter electrodes. The plurality of counter electrodes includes a first counter electrode having a first electrode area, and a second counter electrode having a second electrode area less than the first electrode area. The first counter electrode and the second counter electrode are alternately arranged.
Electrical filter structure
This publication discloses an electrostatic filter construction, to be positioned in air ducts or ventilation channels, which electrostatic filter construction includes a charging unit, which charges the particles to be filtered into a first electric potential and arranged in the filter construction in the path of the air flow before filter elements, electrically conducting electrodes connected to a second electric potential different to the potential of the charged particles and set substantially parallel to the direction of the airflow, and bag shaped filter elements positioned after the charging unit in the path of the air flow. According to the invention each bag shaped filter element has at least one designated UV-light source and an element of photo catalytic material like TiO.sub.2.
ION GENERATING APPARATUS
Provided is an ion generating apparatus, including a housing and an ion generating unit. A waterproof part is provided below an air outlet. The waterproof part includes a discharge port penetrating the waterproof part and in communication with an inside of the housing, and a guide part having a receiving space for receiving a liquid flowing in from the air outlet and guiding the liquid to the discharge port while bypassing an ion exhaust port. By providing the waterproof part below the air outlet to receive the liquid flowing in from the air outlet, the ion generating apparatus may not only prevent the liquid from entering the ion generating unit through the ion exhaust port to affect an ion generation, but also allow a liquid entering the inside of the housing to flow out of the housing along a path that does not come into contact with an electrical component.
MULTI-FUNCTION AIR PURIFING AND STERILIZING SYSTEM
A multi-function air purifying and sterilizing system for filtering and/or sterilizing air comprises: (a) a casing having an air inlet at one end of the casing and an air outlet at the other end of the casing, (b) electrostatic means for attracting particulate matter including biological contaminants, and thus, for removing the particulate matter and the biological contaminants from an air stream passing therethrough, the electrostatic means comprising at least one spiked surface, the at least one spiked surface inducing corona discharge and/or cold plasma when high voltage is applied, the corona discharge and/or the cold plasma producing ozone molecules, (c) at least one energy source for producing rays, the at least one energy source is inter-displaced within the electrostatic means to have the produced rays in close proximity to the electrostatic means for maximizing the at least one energy source efficiency in demolishing the particulate matter and the biological contaminants depositing on the electrostatic means, and/or converting the ozone molecules to hydroxyl radicals, the hydroxyl radicals disinfecting and inhibiting the biological contaminants and/or odors, and/or gases in the air stream, the hydroxyl radicals is spreadable within a confined space, thus, disinfecting biological contaminants and/or odors, and/or gases within a confined space.
EXHAUST TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
An exhaust treatment system includes an exhaust dust removal system and an exhaust ozone purification system. The exhaust dust removal system has a dust removal system inlet, a dust removal system outlet, and an electric field device (1021). The exhaust ozone purification system includes a reaction field (202) for mixing an ozone stream with an exhaust stream for a reaction. The exhaust treatment system is able to effectively remove particulate matters from the exhaust, improving the purifying treatment effect on the exhaust.
ELECTRONIC PURIFICATION OF AIR IN MINES
An emitter to deliver an electron flow towards particulate matter includes a base, a conductive track fixed to the base, and a plurality of conductive pins fixed to the base and extending therefrom in a predetermined direction and electrically coupled to the track so as to receive a negative electric charge therefrom. The emitter also includes a plurality of tubes, fixed to the base, and extending therefrom in said direction, with each of the tubes having an interior extending away from the base to an open end, and with each tube having at least one of the pins located in the interior thereof.
