TREATMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS WITH A SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE FLOW OF THE GASEOUS MEDIUM
The invention relates to a treatment apparatus comprising an envelope that can be placed on or around a body part of a person such that the envelope has a positioning area (Z) for said body part of the person, the envelope being provided with an inlet (8) for a gaseous medium and an outlet for discharging the gaseous medium present in the envelope. According to the invention, the apparatus comprises a control system (11) for controlling the flow of the gaseous medium in order to direct the gaseous medium entering the envelope via the inlet (8) outside the positioning area (Z), and to homogenise the gaseous medium present in the envelope.

The invention relates to a treatment apparatus comprising an envelope that can be placed on or around a body part of a person such that the envelope has a positioning area (Z) for said body part of the person, the envelope being provided with an inlet (8) for a gaseous medium and an outlet for discharging the gaseous medium present in the envelope. According to the invention, the apparatus comprises a control system (11) for controlling the flow of the gaseous medium in order to direct the gaseous medium entering the envelope via the inlet (8) outside the positioning area (Z), and to homogenise the gaseous medium present in the envelope.

A medical treatment system including a treatment chamber, a source of an aqueous mist containing a medication, a source of an oxygen-enriched gas, and a control system adapted to alternately surround a human body part with a mist containing a medication and the oxygen enriched gas, which can be used to treat various skin disorders including infected lesions, bacterial infections such as acne (i.e. Proplanibacterium acnes), fungal infections such as Athelete's foot (i.e. fungal genus Trichophyton), conditions associated with hair loss including alopecia as well as ulcerations and frostbite resulting form poor circulation. A method of treating skin disorders is also disclosed, that includes providing a mist containing a medication and enriched oxygen gas to the site being treated its well as providing oxygen to the patient during treatment.

The present invention is a device for transcutaneous application of CO.sub.2, which comprises: a therapeutic chamber comprising at least a portion to receive a part of a patient's body to which the carbon dioxide is to be applied, an inlet/outlet pipe connecting the chamber with a CO.sub.2 distribution system, the said pipe connecting the chamber with a CO.sub.2 distribution system, wherein a gate valve for sealing the chamber is installed in the chamber where the inlet/outlet pipe is installed; the CO.sub.2 distribution system comprising a housing where at least the following components are installed: a first pipe with a first valve for suction of air out of the chamber, a second pipe with a second valve for supplying CO.sub.2 from a tank; wherein the first and second pipe are combined into the inlet/outlet pipe upstream of the valves; at least one ventilator for ensuring air flow through the said valves and inlet/outlet pipe, an outlet pipe for leading the used air from the chamber through the wall to the external environment of the building where the device is installed; and at least one tank for storing CO.sub.2 suitably connected to the second pipe.
Personal portable therapy chamber
A portable, personal therapy chamber for provision of infrared radiation therapy. The therapy chamber includes a pair of telescopically positionable cabins that are lightweight and easily portable by a single user. The therapy chamber is configured for use by a single person lying generally prone on a surface. The cabins are disposed to overlie the user and include a plurality of infrared radiation elements that direct infrared energy toward the user's body. When using the therapy chamber, the user's head extends from an open end of the cabin. A facial treatment fixture is integrated with the cabin to be extendable longitudinally from a terminal end thereof and to overlie the user's face/head. The therapy chamber can be configured to provide mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy in addition to infrared therapy.
