COATING SYSTEM WITH AN ULTRASONIC HEAD
This coating system (2) for coating a workpiece (W1) with a liquid coating product, includes an ultrasonic spray head (14) for generating droplets of coating products, an electrode (32A) for generating an electrostatic field (E) between the electrode and the ultrasonic spray head (14) and a high-voltage generator (52) connected to the electrode for supplying the electrode with high voltage. The shape of the electrode (32A) is advantageously configurable on the basis of the geometry of the workpiece (W1).
ELECTRODISCHARGE APPARATUS
An electrodischarge apparatus has a nozzle that includes a discharge chamber that has an inlet for receiving a liquid and an outlet. The apparatus has a first electrode extending into the discharge chamber that is electrically connected to one or more high-voltage capacitors. A second electrode is proximate to the first electrode to define a gap between the first and second electrodes. A switch causes the one or more capacitors to discharge across the gap between the electrodes to create a plasma bubble which expands to form a shockwave that escapes from the nozzle ahead of the plasma bubble.
Deposition apparatus and deposition method using the same
A deposition apparatus and a deposition method are disclosed. In one aspect, the deposition apparatus includes an electrostatic chuck and a tensile plate attached to and formed over the electrostatic chuck. The deposition apparatus further includes an elevation unit configured to move the tensile plate towards the substrate and a tensile unit configured to apply a tensile force to the tensile plate to expand the tensile plate.
Droplet actuator devices comprising removable cartridges and methods
A microfluidic device having a substrate with an electrically conductive element made using a conductive ink layer underlying a hydrophobic layer.
ORGANIC LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME USING THIN FILM FABRICATING APPARATUS
A thin film fabricating apparatus includes an electrode part which sprays a thin film material as electrified spray particles, a substrate holder disposed facing the electrode part and holding a substrate to be provided with a thin film, and a mask disposed between the electrode part and the substrate holder and provided with a plurality of pattern grooves, where the mask and the substrate are applied with a mask voltage (Vm) and a substrate voltage (V0), respectively, the mask voltage (Vm) is a variable voltage, and the substrate voltage (V0) has the same polarity as the polarity of spray particles.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CORNEAL BIOMECHANICS DIAGNOSTICS
Described herein include a system and method for a device for drug delivery and ophthalmic diagnostics designed to assist in the diagnosis of the physical state of a cornea through the projection of droplets onto the eye. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a liquid sampling unit, an electric droplet generator, and a steering unit. In some embodiments, the liquid sampling unit is configured to project a quantity of liquid, while the electric droplet generator receives the quantity of liquid and outputs one or more electrically charged droplets. The steering unit uses electrostatic forces to steer the electrically charged droplets along a trajectory onto the cornea of the patient's eye.
VOLTAGE-ASSISTED PAINTING SYSTEM
A nozzle assembly for a painting system including an outer wall, an inner wall and a pair of electrodes. The inner wall defines a paint passage through which paint is dispensed. The inner wall is spaced from the outer wall to define a fluid passage between an outer surface of the inner wall and an inner surface of the outer wall. The pair of electrodes extend circumferentially around an outer surface of the inner wall. The pair of electrodes are configured to be electrically connected to a power source. The fluid passage is configured to receive a fluid. Upon supplying power to the pair of electrodes, water droplets are separated from the fluid in the fluid passage and pass through the inner wall to coat an inner surface of the inner wall to facilitate movement of the paint through the paint passage.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SPRAYING FOOD AND FOOD PROCESSING ARTICLES WITH ANTIMICROBIALS AND OTHER AGENTS
Provided herein are methods, apparatuses, and systems for treating food articles, including meat, poultry, fish and other seafood, vegetables, fruits and other foods and food processing articles by spraying an antimicrobial or other agent onto the food or food processing articles. One embodiment of the invention may include a method for treating a food article comprising disposing a food article in a cavity within an enclosure having an outer shell and at least one inner plate disposed in the cavity, applying a first charge to a antimicrobial agent, applying a second charge to the at least one inner plate of the same polarity as the first charge, and spraying the antimicrobial agent into the cavity in a manner whereby at least a portion of the antimicrobial agent is caused to be repelled by the at least one inner plate and to at least partially coat the food article.
